Quigley's is on the main campus
Quigley's is on the main campus for The George Washington University. As such it is very energetic and a hub of student activity. I always enjoy going to Quigley's just to be on a university campus and close to downtown DC.

Good burgers and upscale bar
Good burgers and upscale bar food in a neighborhood setting near George Washington University. The kids can draw on the table but you still feel like you are in a real restaurant.

I came here to eat their burger
I came here to eat their burger with my girlfriend. The service was good and the decor of the restaurant is really nice. It has different floors for different purposes. Burgers were well done and tasted great.I wish they had fries served with burgers. Tater tots were still good. I might come back here to get drinks next time. I would definitely recommend it.

Perfect quick dinner
The service was great (Josh, I think?). Food was also very good. Nice little spot for the moderate budget. Try the tots!

Because we were a large group, I originally made the reservation for 2 groups....they were great to put us together outside. Service was perfect...waitress was great in serving us and providing us with 3 separate bills.

I love tonic. I've dined here in the past as well and I've never been disappointed.

I've been to the Tonic in
I've been to the Tonic in Mt. Pleasant, and both that location and the one near GW has a great feel to it. It's casual, but good food. We had my friend's 5-year-old son with us and the waitress was very accommodating. He asked to see the kitchen, and she told us how to get there and the staff waved at him when he peeped in.

I just love coming to Tonic for Happy Hour/Dinner - the service is great, the food is tasty and you can't be the fun tater tot inspired vibe.

Great for casual business meals!
Tonic offers a wide range of sandwiches/entrees which are sure to be crowd pleasers.

Tots at Tonic
If you're looking for a carbo fix, look no further than Tonic @ Quigley's Pharmacy. Tater tots are the side dish de rigeur, and fine tots they are too. I opted for the Mac 'n Cheese, and it was both comforting and filling. Service is friendly and super-prompt, so great for a quick lunch.

My best friend & I loved our dining experience. The food was delicious, the service was timely, the atmosphere was quiet. We had a great time, the best way to end my vacation.

Nice local hangout
We enjoyed our dinner at Tonic. It was a quiet night as GWU was out of school. The servers were friendly, the food was good ( except for one dessert item we actually sent back because it was like rubber and they apologized and refunded our money for it). The Best of Both Worlds drink was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place for a not too fancy dinner where you can write on the brick walls with crayons.

On our way to the theatre
Stopped in at Quigley's on our way to the theatre for dinner. Although seats were available outside, we elected to eat in. Our server was very friendly, and provided excellent service. The food was great. Not much more to say. I don't think anyone could go wrong eating here.

The food and service at Tonic was top notch, the waiter was patient with my two children and the tater tots where delicious, we will be back!

OpenTable Near You
I love being able to reserve a table on-line. It makes arranging lunch so much more convenient -- and eliminates the worry of not having a table when you want one. In most cases, lunchtime is busy and time is short. Having a reservation makes all the difference in the world.
The food is great! The menu is varied enough to fit any special diet or palet. The fish tacos were wonderful -- light and tasty.

Sunday Brunch with my Parents
I'm interning in DC for the summer. My parents came to visit and we had Sunday brunch here. My mom and I split the French toast and my dad got a pulled pork sandwich. The french toast was tasty. Be warned, the pulled pork sandwich does come with the onion rings and coleslaw already ON the sandwich, not on the side. Overall it was a nice brunch. It was a bit on the pricey side, but normal for a sit down in the city. I would recommend eating here.

Fun spot - great food
Wonderful place for Sunday brunch. Egg dishes are superb - service is attentive and friendly - a very enjoyable experience.

Great place for lunch
The burgers here are great! As a vegetarian, I enjoy their veggie burger or one of their large salads while my friends try one of their beef, salmon or other burgers. They have pizza too but I haven't tried them yet. Oh, and don't forget the tots - how could you?

Went to brunch there before
Went to brunch there before a play at the Kennedy Center so it was a great location. The food was excellent and the waitstaff was wonderful and helpful.

Reasonable Prices and good location
This restaurant is a great location on the corner of the GW campus, and has reasonable prices with a range of entree types--pizza, sandwiches, and full entrees.

got loud real fast
lunchtime at Tonic was hectic. the food was great, as always, but the place got really loud at lunch. What's up with that?!

Low key dinner spot
Tonic was great for a relaxed, no-frills dinner prior to seeing a show at the Kennedy Center. It's an easy walk from the Foggy Bottom metro station where the Kennedy Center shuttle picks up. The menu has a lot of variety, but I ended up just getting a burger and tots. The tots especially were delicious paired with their curry ketchup. Our server was very attentive, too. The ambiance had a fun vibe. I've eaten lunch here a lot of times previously as well, and I always enjoy it.

Great meal, terrific service
The fish tacos with chipotle mayo and spicy slaw were delicious! Flavorful and surprising and satisfying. The kids liked their trays of mac & cheese, tater tots, and celery & carrots, and the fried chicken looked great. The wait staff was excellent, everyone we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful, they even said that if I didn't like the tacos they'd bring me something else. (SO not an issue!) We sat out on the patio and watched people walk by and enjoyed a good meal. Looks like there was a big bar scene inside.
8/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Brunch was decent. We went on move-in weekend at GW, thankfully before the rush, but saw lots of people coming in with their proud parents on our way out. The food was pretty good. I had their Northwest omelet, with smoked salmon. It wasn't amazing, but it was pretty good. Decent prices for being in this area. Really nice outdoor seating in front and back. The Muy Caliente Bloody Mary was deliciously spicy! Would return if I was back over there.

First time at Tonic. We attempted Founding Farmers but didn't want to wait the hour and a half. Found Tonic on Open Table and decided to go. SO glad we ended up there! We sat upstairs which was super cozy. Brunch was fantastic and our server was great. I highly recommend it.
8/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
For the price this place is great. We were able to eat outside and stayed for hours.

Fun & Lively
Tonic was a great find. Interiors are exposed brick, bringing you back in time to some of Foggy Bottom's old gem row houses. Perfect casual dining for friends or family. Really fun and the food is well presented and put together.

Rob, our server, was great. But please moderate the AC!

great for dinner
We had dinner before going to Lisner Auditorium. Servers were attentive, food was tasty, and the draft beer list was interesting. There are parking garages close by, so overall, it was a great choice! I would recommend it for any dining occasion.

The brunch is very tasty -
The brunch is very tasty - the breakfast burritto was filling, well put together and tasty. The french toast was also quite good - the cinnamon/sugar butter a big hit. The corned beef has was different, not well revived, but that was a matter of taste.
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
It has been quite a few years since I last dined here. The food was excellent as always, as was our waiter. What wasn't great was the fact that we had a reservation and we still had to wait a long time for a table and when we go the table it was a two top for a reservation for three. The response from the somewhat curt hostess was "we get a lot of reservations". Seems like the reservation process is a waste of both their and the diner's time. Maybe they should just go to first come, first serve and call ahead for large groups. Lot less frustration that way, at least on the part of the diner.
10/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
Check in stayed in the bar cuz of the great happy hours with wide variety of drinks. Ambience and the place is clean, its Halloween night the bars are quite very busy.
Gem in the neighborhood.

A fun surprise!
We were just looking for some place we could go to that wasn't too far from the Kennedy Center, and this looked interesting (and had a reservation at the time we needed.) When we arrived the place was hopping - Friday happy hour - so it seemed that it might be a little loud for us, but they had outdoor seating available (it was warm on November 1!) And we alter found out that the upstairs seating was much quieter and nicer. The food was standard American fare, but very well done. They specialize in "tater tots" served with a vaiety of sauces, which was fun. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable and service was reasonably quick, though she went off shift in the middle of our meal so getting the check was a little tricky. We'll be back!

Tonic was a good place to eat with efficient service and an interesting menu. The potato soup was excellent. It felt a little loud upstairs but the booth still allowed for privacy and regular tone conversation.

Pre- game meal
A nice menu with good food and drink. It is very convenient if you are going to a George Washington basketball game at night.

JUST GREAT FOOD
Being tourists in DC we were looking for a place to eat and we found Tonic a couple blocks from our hotel. There is a noisy bar on the 1st floor and a dining area on the 2nd floor which was quieter thank goodness. All 4 of us had a different meal and we were all very impressed as we expected "bar" food. I had very good crispy fish tacos, my wife's Mushroom Ravioli was Amazing and the others had the Dijon crusted Salmon and were also amazed at the quality of the food and the great tastes and all at a very reasonable price. They had a great beer selection and modestly priced as well.

great neighborhood pub
Upstairs was not too loud and food was good and service was great. It was kid friendly. Would definitely go back.
