First rate brunch. Service a bit slow but the food is worth the wait.

My husband and I had eaten
My husband and I had eaten here many years ago. We decided to go there again because we were going to the theater nearby, and I had a Restaurant.com certificate. I had read some negative reviews online, but decided to give it a try anyway. We arrived at 6PM and it wasn't at all crowded. We were greeted cordially, and given our choice of tables. When we told our waitress we had a Restaurant.com certificate, we were neither moved nor were we given a special menu as I had read in another review online. I had the pumpkin ravioli, which was absolutely delicious. My husband had a pasta dish with sausage and broccoli that he thoroughly enjoyed. We both agreed that we would gladly go back in the future when we're in that area.

Had a wonderful dinner here
Had a wonderful dinner here before the show. Fantastic atmosphere and great food. Service was very good and the restaurant owner made a point of checking in to make sure we were happy. Definitely would recommend.

A moderate priced neighborhood gem.
The fix prix menu was perfect for an after theatre meal. The service was attentive and very good. An overall pleasureable experience.

Love the Italian food!
This was my first time here and I definitely enjoyed it. I had the gnocchi and it was great. My only problem is that I had eaten a big lunch and wasn't very hungry. I will be back though and the next time, I'll be ready to 'chow down'..... :-)

Not sure what to expect -- and I was pleasantly surprised. Got there early and had no problem being seated. The menu was just varied enough and I chose old favorites to check on quality. A Caesar salad was definitely tasty -- with nice crunchy croutons. Loved the calamari Tuscan style with garlic, tomatoes and beans -- it was perfectly seasoned and so rustic!! The glass of Chianti at $8 rounded out the meal. To add to my pleasure, there was a lovely, very conversational couple at the adjacent table. Had a lovely time at a "table for one!" Forgot to mention, the service was initially slow. But, once I really got on their radar, I never fell off!

A Theater District Gem
Only a block away from the busy Theater District on 9th Ave, this neighborhood gem boast of homemade pasta and affordable wine.

Excellent food and service. Both meat and pasta dishes were perfectly prepared. Attentive and prompt service.

Always the best place to eat
Always the best place to eat in the theater district. Good food at reasonable prices with excellent service. A pleasure.

Food was excellent. Our second
Food was excellent. Our second visit there in a week because it was so good the first time. Service is knowledgeable and prompt. The owner appeared to be the order taker and he checked in appropriately.
The only negative is that it was a humid evening and the a/c wasn't turned on high enough so it was uncomfortable.

Perfect theatre hot spot
We went to matinee & went for dinner. Nice day out so doors were open & setting was perfect. All meals were outstanding & we stayed after dinner to talk & were not rushed at all. Highly recommend this spot. Very affordable as well!

Fun Tasty HK Find
This is an agreeable and tasty establishment. Good food, good prices, good place to bring friends/family/visitors. If you miss any of the restaurants that have recently gone out of business on 9th ave, you will not be disappointed with Pietrasanta.

Quick service and friendly
We thought food was good. We rushed ourselves due to last minute plans for theater, but that worked out too. This is not the place for quiet a romantic dinner as it's fairly noisy.

Excellent restaurant near Broadway
The staff was accommodating, the food wonderful. We all had an excellent time.

Fantastic neighborhood gem
I love this restaurant! Every time I come to NY, I eat here and I have never been disappointed. Ambiance is great. Never loud. Highly recommend.

I love eating here - it makes you feel like Nonna has cooked the food in the kitchen. Really authentic, tasty food and portions are good....did I mention that they are reasonably priced too. I intend on coming back here again and again...even though I live Downtown :) BTW - Cheesecake delicious :)

I recently had lunch/brunch here's several years ago I had a memorable dinner here and wanted to do back. I would not ordinarily order pasta for lunch but the brunch menu was a decent value with entree and wine. The pasta was delicious as was the bread. Not very crowded for a Wednesday lunch so we had good service.

This was a great place to
This was a great place to go pre-theatre. It was a lovely evening and two sides of the restaurant are completely open to the street, creating a breeze. The staff was very friendly and attentive, without hovering or rushing. The food was very good and reasonably priced. In particular, the pastas were excellent. I had the quid ink pasta with shrimp, garlic, and olive oil and it did not disappoint. My husband had the orrechiette with sausage and broccoli rabe and, again, it was delicious. The only disappointment was the canoli, which was soggy, but the cream was good. The wine list was interesting and very reasonable as well. We will definitely return.

Great place to eat in Manhattan
I had eaten there with a friend several years ago when we were in NY, so I made reservations and took my husband there after a matinee show. The service was absolutely outstanding and the staff was very friendly. The chicken parm with a side of pasta was delicious and fresh, as were the salads. My husband said there was not much lobster in his lobster ravioli, but it tasted great anyway. The only complaint is that this place is really loud, with nothing to absorb the sound. With the windows open, the street noise added to the din. But we will definitely eat there again when we're in the city. Two dinners, with salads, bread, entrees and a $25 bottle of wine came to just under $100 --- not cheap, but certainly not bad for NYC.

Found a discount on restaurant.com so my wife and I decided to check it out for our anniversary. To our delight, it was actually a very nice meal. The Risotto was cooked well (something not easy to do), and my wife's pumpkin ravioli was really incredible. We will be back.

If you don't mind walking
If you don't mind walking a few blocks, this is a great place for pre-theater dining. Food is good, portions are plentiful and service is very accommodating. Prices are very reasonable and wine is a bargain. We enjoyed the experience and will certainly return.
9/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
I have eaten here several times and will continue to return. The food is consistently good and the staff is very efficient and courteous. Additionally the meals are very reasonably priced. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Perfect Pre-Show Treat
This is an excellent place to get a pre-Broadway meal with excellent service, decent prices, prime location. Highly recommended!

VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE
My wife chose this restaurant because it was near the theatre we were going to. She also looked at some reviews to establish that it was not a dive. We were a table of six. Our table was ready for us when we arrived. We all order different dishes and sampled from each other. The food was very good. The service was excellent. The waiter we had was always there to fill our glasses, etc and help with recommendations. Al of us said we would come here again.
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was cook to perfection and the price was quite reasonable. My wife and I had their brunch; there was a variety of selections to choice from.
We plan to go back to this restaurant in the near future.

A pre-b'way must
As a tradition, my wife and I dine here before any show we see (15 years +). Ambiance is great and the food is fantastic. They know that most everyone is time crunched to get to the B'way one time. Yet, it never feels that you're being rushed. A bit of a tight squeeze for tables of 2.

Happy to be able to " go home"
Happy to be able to " go home" again. For years we went to Pietrasanta and after a couple of not great meals, stopped. We decided to give it another chance last week and are so happy that we did. The meal was excellent and service was efficient and pleasant . We will add it back into our regular schedule .

Loaded with potential, good eats
Very cute and cozy place, with a European feel. First impressions may lead one to think it is a pizza place -- which they have.-- but it is much more. Solid Italian cuisine, good choices. All at our table LOVED our meals. Very good value, wine choices are limited. Not far from the theater district and worth the walk

Pietrasanta is Perfect!
I have never ever been disappointed in this lovely restaurant...perfect spot!
Food is consistently great and I love the people there!
Go! It's worth it...try the mushroom gnocchi...my sister calls them "pillows of love!"

Good time at Pietrasanta
I took my family to New York for a fun weekend together. Our first night there we ate at Pietrasanta. It was just right for us. The food was very good as was the service. The restaurant had a nice neighborhood feel, warm and inviting. I would recommend it.

Food is really the best Italian in mid-town New York. Service was not great, but food is amazing!

It could have been Italy, between the attentive, charming service and homemade pastas. So delicious, can't wait to go back!
