Thanks for giving us the opportunity to dine at Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena. We had a great experience and will return again soon.
One recommendation that I suggest is to have the flexability to be open on the weekends as well.

This was our first dining
This was our first dining experience at Restaurant Technique. It was a word-of-mouth recommendation from close friends. To put it succintly, we were NOT disappointed. The food was out-standing.
The only down side was parking. I called for instructions on where to park. The person at Technique recommended a parking structure on Oakland between Colorado and Green. We spent about 90 minutes dining on Friday evening. When we were leaving the structure, the attendant informed us that the parking fee was $9.00. A bit Outrageous! VALET parking on Colorado (ala Roy's or Ruth Chris's is only $7.00!!!

Great dinner experience.
It was a gem to find out that a wine list was added.
The food is always very interesting and ranged from really
good to a new experience, but wouldn't necessarily order it again.

We loved the charm of the old bank building Bread was uneventful , dry and flavorless. Servers were friendly and efficient. Tomato burrata salad was fresh and well presented. Green salad was perfectly dressed. Greens were fresh and flavorful with an abundance of crisp pecans and blue cheese. Croutons were unnecessary and did not add to the dish..White pizza filling was delicious, crust was not. Lamb was cooked perfectly with a delicious reduction sauce however the peas and greens were extremely salty. Accommodations were made for our desserts to go. We would definitely go back if in the area and recommend it to friends and family. Wine was moderately priced and drinkable.

Stark but tasteful and bright
Stark but tasteful and bright ambiance. The cuisine, prepared by students at the school ranged from ok to very good. Service was very friendly and attentive. Overall, a pleasant experience.

ALL FOOD WE ORDERED ARE GREAT.I REMEMBERED ST.ANDREWS AT CIA.

HOT FOOD ARE ON HOT PLATES.COLD FOOD ARE ON ROOM TEMPRATURE PLATES.
I BROUGHT IN SPARKLING WINE .THEY OPENED IT WITH SOUND ''POP''.BROUGHT IT TO TABLE WITHOUT CLOTH.
WHEN OPEN SPARKLING WINE AND CHAMGPAIGN,
FIRST OF ALL ,UNTIED WIRE 6 TIMES HOLDING THE TOP OF CORK WITH THUMB TIGHTLY .HOLD AND TURN CORK WITH PALM ,I PREFERD TURN BOTLLE,GRADUALLY.
MOST OF WINE LOVE PRACTICE THIS METHOD WITHOUT MISTAKE.
DON`T BE AFRAID TO MAKE MISTAKE .JUST BE CAREFUL.
WE WILL DINE AGAIN SOON ,BECAUSE WE LIKE SO MUCH THE RESTAURANT.

Atmosphere is clean cut, retro-euro. Waiters and waitresses are studying to be Chefs so asking them questions is very acceptable, even educational, becasuse they will ask the experienced students in the kitchen and they both learn. Food was very good. Chefs will cook to order. A little pricey for an average night out but a great way to experience le cordon bleu first hand. Not a thing like the over the top egotistical Gordon Ramsey TV show, thank heavens.

Gluten Free Experience
For this night the chef included gluten-free menu items. It was outstanding. It was such a wonderful experience to have wonderful meal and not have to worry about it's contents. Gluten-free usually means no bread, no sauce, no seasonings. This was a truly amazing experience
5/2/2013 4:00:00 PM
The meal was cooked to perfection. Service was friendly and timely. Dessert made my tastebuds dance. Truly, delicious.

What a wonderful find...a cooking school restaurant! Fantastic...don't miss it!

Best Bargain in Town
Technique is a cooking school restaurant. These young people are doing their best to provide a classy and delicious, experimental meal. They mostly succeed, but for a $25 three-course price fix, who cares if they are only "nearly" perfect? I had the "hot dog" appetizer and the squid ink bun was a little doughy, but my dining partner's steak tartare was exquisite. Also, her dessert, a grape panna cotta was fabulous. Atmosphere is like Bottega Louie, downtown L.A. We'll be returning, again and again when I'm up in Pasadena.

We had an unexpectedly memorable meal at Technique. Serendipity landed us there on beef tasting menu night - 5 courses for $45.00. The food was fantastic and, with the exception of one tiny bobble (this is a teaching restaurant, after all), the service was impeccable. The food is seasonal and the presentation superb. If they are cooking like this as students, I can't wait to see what they do out in the world. A few notes: Reservations are required - but easily made through Opentable. There is no tipping, but 15% is added to the bill as a donation to the school. Thursday and Friday nights are the expanded tasting menu nights. Enjoy!

The School Cafeteria
The Technique at Le Cordon Bleu is in a class by itself. The restaurant is staffed by students from the school. In my three visits, I found the food of five star quality, served by students of high enthusiasm, in a setting that runs between school cafeteria and upscale eatery. However, as my wife points out, you can not eat atmosphere. Their three course meal for $25 is the best deal in town, and with no corking charges on Monday and Tuesday, we bring our own wine. Overall, a very pleasant dining experience. I would recommend it to anyone with a taste for gourmet food for a very reasonable price. Bob from Glendale

Delicious and fun
The staff is very hospitable and attentive to service. The menu is varied and creative. Service was fast and presentation was beautiful. We loved our meals and our experience. We will definitely go back.

Prix Fixe for a good price
This was our first visit to Technique, so we had several questions about the food. What's nice is that the host and servers are all students at Le Cordon Bleu, so their descriptions of the way the food is prepared are very thorough, and I felt like I was watching an episode of a cooking reality show. The dishes were delicious. We opted for the prix fixe menu, which was a starter, entree and dessert from the a la carte menu for $25.00. They were trying to push the tasting menu on us, which was $45, which was higher than we had planned to spend. I highly recommend this place, especially to those whom enjoy fine cuisine, but are on a moderate budget.

Our waiter was awesome !
We loved the gourmet onion rings on the "hot dog" dish so we asked if there was any way we could get more as he gave said "of course sir that will be just a few min." and he brought us back a plate of amazing onion rings! Never again will I order onion rings from anywhere haha they were amazing<3<3<3 just amazing customer service (: thank you!
6/9/2013 4:00:00 PM
At 6 pm when we arrived the restaurant was quiet and clean. I saw white tablecloths, chairs of gleaming metal, a very clean floor. Our two waiters were solicitous, patient and helpful. One had a charming smile. The other, oddly enough, was overly eager to remove our plates, although we were not finished, there were many empty tables and no diners were waiting.
The food was delicious and seemed quite rich -- quite a lot of butter or oil. I guess that is the French style. We had Porterhouse lamb, beef and broccoli, crab cakes, salad with heritage tomatoes -- these are just some of the dishes.
I would like to go here again. I recommend the a la carte menu, not the tasting menu. For my next visit I'd like to have lunch.

My Special Place
I am from Pasadena. I moved away, but still travel back for work. Whenever I am in town, I meet old friends or bring new work buddies to Technique. Traveling for work you get tired of restaurants, and this provides a fun, fresh change of pace. Always interesting as we ask the wait staff (aka chefs) all kinds of questions. I have never had a bad experience, and everyone I have taken there just loves it!
6/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Warm it up
Food was excellent but could have been warmer upon serving.

We were wowed by the excellent service and delightful foods we ate. Great variety of pr poo tein choices. The staff answered our questions expertly. What an awesome way to practice what ztudents are taught.

Great service and food
I've been in restaurant 561 and obviously this is the modern format of it. I like the steak house setting in restaurant 561 better. The porition of the food has gone way down and price has jet up quite a bit. I still will recommend this place to friends due to the taste of the food and service. I had the white fish- which is sea bass and it taste great! I like the crab cake better than the sealed tuna~ which is way way way too cold for me.

A tast of heaven on earth
My sister and I had a great time. Just waiting for each dish and constantly being surprised at the beautiful presentation and after that the great amazing favor of each dish. I took my sister there for a special occasion. It surpassed all expections. Thank you for the great service from everyone we meet. The help we reveived in ordering our food and making our reservation. I have been telling other people about it. For sure we will be back.
Thanks again for a special place.

Dining Out Unique Experience
If you want a truly unique dining experience, try Technique at Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena. The servers are always over the top...professional, friendly and always willing to please. As they bring their speciality dishes to your table, they explain some of the flavors you may be about to experience. Plate presentations are exquisite! Prices are very affordable for a tasty 3 course meal. When asked, servers will tell you their future dreams and assignments as they graduate Le Cordon Bleu cooking school. It is a fun, delicious and interesting experience that everyone must try!

Savory items excellent
Good overall. Would go again.
Entrees were not hot, tasted room temperature. Dessert was weak. Got the hummingbird. Was like a senior center lo fat diabetic lo cal. rendition whereas I expected the opposite characteristics.
Exceptionally knowledgeable service. Spacious modern interior. Good value
6/25/2013 4:00:00 PM
We arrived an hour early due to no traffic go figure....we where seated next to kitchen.....and the waitress was great ......the food was fabulous.....as always...the only thing different than other times was the kitchen was disconnected to guest....the reason for a open kitchen is to see what is happening and I walked up to take someone's pictures with the chef and they where standing there talking looking as if it was a bother to get in photograph and when asked a couple question seemed dis interested......I would recommend the ole attitude which was pride and excitement in what they where doing !!
6/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was my first experience at Technique (dinner service) and I was pleasantly surprised. The service, food and ambiance is great for special occasions. The food was beautifully prepared, to the extent that I expected to see Chef Ramsey in the back reviewing each dish.

Super all round
Never been disappointed eating here at least ten times and worth the 50 mile grove EACH way.

Best Deal in So Cal
Second time dining here and both experiences were out of this world! Presentation of food is amazing - had to stop and admire each dish prior to ruining the appearance with a fork. Love how student waiters are willing to share their knowledge about each of dish. They are even willing to point out the most popular items on the menu. The atmosphere is relaxing and all the staff are pleasant and enthusiastic. The Pacific swordfish I had from the dinner menu was the best I have ever had in my life. The pear salad and the berry blossom dessert were both outstanding. I have recommended Technique in Pasadena to anyone who will listen - incredible food at amazing prices!

Doesn't seem like students...seems like caring pros.

Fun Foodie Find
The restaurant experience at Le Cordon Bleu was a culinary adventure. Great service and fun talking to the student waiters.
The menu afforded experimentation with several unusual items. My fish sauce was w-a-y too salty but the price was right and it is a student learning effort. If I lived in Pasadena I would go back again.
8/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
Excellent food for the price!
Really nice spot to get an excellent quality food for such a great price. Because the restuarant is connected to the culinary school, you don't have all the features and options of a gourmet resaturant, but the food is really good and well presented.

Support New Chefs and Eat Well
We had a delicious meal at Le Cordon Bleu. The food was tasty and very creative. Our server was very helpful with recommendations and dealing with allergies. She also explained the school and what was happening. The portions are small, but the three course prix fixe was sufficient.
8/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
My friends and I were looking forward to our dinner at le Cordon Bleu before we were to attend Val Kilmer's play at the Pasadena Playhouse. Unfortunately, we were stuck in traffic and 3 phone calls later and an hour late to our reservation, we finally made it! Kaitlyn had assured me on the phone that we would be seated, a rush could be put on the food and we would make it on time to our show, which was all true!! We ordered enjoyed the prix fixe and our food was wonderful. Loved the bread, the wine selection and our entrees. Since we were rushing, we got our desserts in to-go boxes for later. We can't wait to return and enjoy our food at a more leisurely pace. Thank you for being so accommodating to our situation.

Fit for foodies........?
The food (prix fixe) was well prepared.....poached pork, swordfish, crab cake, shrimp, blueberry torts. Shrimp were a little "hot". Crab cakes lacked flavor....though lots of crab and nice crunch. Pork needed a little more salt. Sword fish was cooked nicely with flavorful sauce. Desserts were fun and tasty. Service lacked experience. Brought 1997 Beychevelle. Most of the sediment wound up in the glasses after first pouring. No corkage fee!!! Too many different servers made service impersonal and mechanical. No noise really. Not much action in the viewable kitchen. Considering that this is a school we overlooked the negatives but would really be upset in a high end restaurant. We will return. Fit for curious foodies with the right mindset.

Fantastic Food !
This was our first visit and we were really impressed. I love the interior of the restaurant and being able to view the food being prepared is a real treat. Our dishes were flavorful and great looking besides. For dessert I had a melon ice creme with pieces of frozen melon. So tasty! We will be back to try the many other dishes.

Second time at experiencing
Second time at experiencing and found it to be a 100 times better.
Food portions good and all well presented. Only criticism each course followed the next..there was no rest time in between. Overall good experience.
9/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Always great tasting food and excellent menu choices
9/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
I think we have come here 3 times recently for dinner. It's nice to try new recipes by the students. Food was prepared well and a lot of attention was paid to detail and explaining what we were having.
9/17/2013 5:00:00 PM
Great friendly service, food
Great friendly service, food was good except for tge desert. The black Forrest not good.
10/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
We tried the Beef Bourguignon made with beef cheeks and it was so tender and flavorful. The service was attentive and knowledgeable . I had the very reasonable Prix Fixe 3 course meal for $25.00. The oxtail soup was a new one for me and I enjoyed it. The creme brûlée with a hint of bacon was unique and delicious. Will definitely return
10/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
Love this place
I am a returning customer. Love the food - presentation and taste. Servers are attentive and polite. Quiet atmosphere. Surprised it does not have a lot of customers at dinnertime.

Over the Top Food at a Great Price
If you are looking for fine dining experience with fantastice food and service that will not crush your wallet, then this is the place for you. With the level of service and quality of food we recieved I felt like I was at a Morton's or Ruth Chris restaurant. The menu selection is small but, appeals to everyone. The beef was so tender that I was able to cut with a fork and delicious. What else can I say is that can not go wrong by dining here.
10/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
this restaurant is a gem, has everything a high class restaurant should have, the food is fantastic at that price.
10/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
Best Veriety and Originality
Techniques offers by far the best veriaty and craftive menu selections. Portionsare small allowing you try a veriaty. Menu changes so check back for current offerings.
10/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
It was the first time we went to "the technique" and we must say we would love to go back. The environment is relaxed and the setting is not that fancy, but the food was amazing and it is so nice to get to see the very talented people preparing your food there. It is a wonderful idea of le cordon bleu, it gives students the chance to experience a real restaurant setting and part of what they make gos to scholarships. We'll definitively go back.
11/7/2013 4:00:00 PM
Food was OK, need more work.
Food was OK, need more work. But not bad for student cooks. They would probably need more practice in making the food perfect. Some food was a bit burnt, and some was a bit salty. The presentation was very nice. Service was good, I'd give it a 4 out of 5. There is still room for improvement.
11/14/2013 4:00:00 PM
My Favorite Place
The fod selection was outstanding. The service was great. We always enjoy going to Le Cordon Blue for dinner. We always stop at the Deli counter and pick up goodies for the next day. We have never been disappointed by Techniques. The staff is informative, weel trained, and make sure that you enjoy your visit.
