Excellent trattoria in the East Village – complimentary bread and veal meatballs were rich and flavorful in a wonderful sauce. Fig and prosciutto special was light and fresh – good counterbalance to meatball starter. Braised veal shoulder (Monday special) was tender and sumptuous; green beans were perfect al dente. Pappardelle pasta was great as well. Generous portions and reasonable prices – left stuffed. Paired everything with a bottle of Montelpuciano (if I recall), which was fine enough (served a little too warm for my liking, but again, well priced). Service was friendly and professional. Ambiance is casual yet welcoming. Great neighborhood spot – could go there once a week.
