Welcome to Georgetown, El Centro!
We were so excited to dine at El Centro on its second day in Georgetown. The food and drinks are stellar, as to be expected after loving the U Street location, and the restaurant is a HUGE improvement over whatever Third Edition was struggling to do with the space. We'll be back, and often!

A great find!
We read about the expansion of this restaurant into the old Third Edition space and it turned out great! The servers were fantastic and the food was so good and reasonably priced! They had tequila flights which were a fun thing to try! definitely going back!

Hidden outdoor gem in Georgetown
El Centro D.F. in Georgetown best feature is its hidden outdoor patio in the rear of the restaurant. Compliement that with its great mexican-tapas style weekend brunch and you have a great way to spend a weekend afternoon.

From food to the look of the resturant was the best.

Fabulous evening at El Centro
The totally renovated site makes it hard to realize this is the former Third Edition. Love the design and atmosphere. The infused tequila margaritas were delicious. The menu is amazing. The 6 of us loved our dinner....and the servers were very attentive. Can't wait to go back!!!

El Centro Delicious Food
My date and I shared the shrimp and crab enchiladas, and the Al Pastor tacos. Both entrees were delicious. I would definitely come back and try more things on the menu.

Recommending to all my friends
Who are looking for high quality good Mexican food that's reasonably priced. Had the pork shoulder fajitas with guacamole and a margarita- everything was fantastic!

It just keeps getting better
Went back to el centro for the second time in a week (yes it is that good) and got my new favorite dish: duck tacos. i thought the pork carnitas couldn't be beat but these were some of the best tacos I've had in a while. Everything was delicious however, the service was pretty slow (drinks took a while to come)

I have an amazing time at El Centro! The food was great, amazing mimosas and the people working were super friendly and nice.

Energetic and Vibrant
One would expect a restaurant featuring "Mexican comfort food" to be calm, boring, even bland. This was the opposite of that. Music, purple lights, energetic dining neighbors, a fabulously lit bar... all very fun!

Great, unique food
El Centro does a good job at walking the line between traditional Spanish/Mexican food and tapas. They have some great choices for tacos, and amazing sangria. Waiter was very knowledgeable on the menu and specials -- which was great.

I love this place - best Mexican
The food is fantastic at El Centro and it has some new dishes that are not servied at the 14th Street location. I highly reocmmend this if you want unique Mexican food based on real Mexican dishes. They also have "tex-mex" for those that want it but trust me - be adventerous and you will be very happy.
What makes this place great beyond the food and atmosphere is the staff. The management ensure that the place runs very well. All of the staff are very friendly. Both managers that night helped serve the food and ensured that everything was perfect. I will be a regular.

El Centro D.F.
I came here on a Thursday night with my girlfriend- great food, great drinks, great service. It was a rainy night and not many people were out or in the restaurant, so it felt like we had the place to our selves...Great tequila Bible! House margarita was ok, I recommend the Spicy Margarita. The table side guac was phenomenal

Great, up scale Mexican food. Good service, but very noisy. If you like Tequila, they have over 250.

Amazing great Mexican, Georgetown sure does need a place like this.

I went to this restaurant
I went to this restaurant with three of my coworkers for lunch. We were seated right away and the food and service were both quite good. One of my coworkers asked for several specific modifications to a standard order and all were met. The orders were taken in a timely matter, we were kept in drinks and chips until the food came, and the food came reasonably fast. The only quibbles I have were that the music was somewhat on the loud side (although the music itself was good) and the margaritas seemed a little weak.

Good service, great food...
The experience was great overall. Dinner with the lady, was able to make reservations the morning of through OpenTable, and was promptly seated. Service was friendly and proficient. The menu was great and had great options. The margaritas were great (would suggest the spicy one). The food was wonderful and good portioned.
The only gripe would be that the ambience on the outdoor patio was fairly loud. As the night went on more people showed up for the "after-dinner" scene. While I totally understand the need to clear dining space for late night bar goers, I felt a little pushed out the door. I was actually waiting for my date to come back from the washroom and we had paid/were ready to leave, when staff started clearing and moving my table.

Super Mexican food! Salsa
Super Mexican food! Salsa was different, but terrific! Everything was delicious, and wait staff were friendly and competent! I highly recommend it.

The food and service were exceptional! This is an upscale yet casual restaurant with a varied menu and many margarita choices for the tequila expert!

The one thing I don't recommend
The one thing I don't recommend you get is the guacamole it is not good at all. We had the queso fundido with sausage to start which was very good and they bring chips and salsa which were warm which we enjoyed. Then for our main courses we got the shrimp huarache which was good, the cochinita pibil tacos which were excelent and the al pastor which was good but I recommend the cochinita Pibil over the al pastor. We couldn't make it to dessert because we were extremely full. Overall this place is a great choice the food doesn't take forever but it isn't too fast and it has great ambiance. I highly recommend it

Great at Lunch
El Centro Georgetown is a nice addition to the neighborhood. Service is excellent and the food choices are interesting and nicely prepared.

Great service and food.
We wanted something quick before a movie in Georgetown which usually means bad food. Not this time, though. Great menu - we wanted to try one of everything. Settled on the Sopes for an appetizer (delicious but served as three very small ones - basically two bites each; three is a tough number to split between two people), the Tacos al Pastor and the Pipian Mole with Jumbo Shrimp - both very good. Their tables are way too close together. We live in the city and get city dining. But when you have to slide the table to the side so that a thin person can get in and out you know you've pushed the boundaries a bit. You are literally a part of the table conversation at the tables on each side whether you want to be or not.
