Stand Out Food!
Being a pop-up, the decor and ambience leave a lot to desire. Very bare bones in term of atmosphere. The fabulous accents that permeate do help. Food was beyond amazing. The lamb is memorable. You can hear that dish calling you back!

Enjoy while it lasts
Absolutely amazing food, with new takes on old favorites like lamb and salmon. There was a raw venison dish that was unbelievably good. The food takes a little while to prepare, so kick back and enjoy a good conversation -- this isn't an in-and-out place by any stretch of the imagination.

I went there for a late lunch.
I went there for a late lunch. The food was fantastic, everything that I expected. And, considering the restaurant has not been going very long, the service was excellent as well. The wines arrived on time with the food and the staff were helpful. I called back the next day for a drink in between some sightseeing and had an excellent cocktail. I have already recommended the place to friends.

New Zealand's Best
Wonderful and fabulous tasting menu for this pop-up restaurant!!! Enjoyed every bite that was presented. Must adventure before they close at the end of the year. Most memorable was the ceviche, smoke salmon, venison tartare, snapper, lamb. Don't forget their chocolate dessert. Everything was cooked perfectly and perfectly seasoned.

I would highly, highly recommend. The burger was absolutely one of the best that I have ever had in SF. The fish and bellini were also top, top notch! Atmosphere is really fun and unique. Fabulous! Slightly on the pricey-er side, but well within what is reasonable (it is a pop up location with a high-end chef!). Will absolutely go back if I can before they close. HIGHLY recommend.

A touch of New Zealand
In town for the America's Cup I took a friend who is a San Francisco foodie. Waiheke Island did not disappoint. Comfortable and spacious for a pop-up with the lovely aroma of macrocarpa wood. Our lunch was delicious (I had the lamb special ) and beautifully presented. Highly recommended

Best breakfast ever
We have now eaten at this restaurant twice and both experiences have been wonderful. Breakfast was a highlight. We took our teenaged kids to watch the America's cup and had breakfast prior to the event. It was the best breakfast we have ever had. Each dish was delicious and original. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere lively. I hope it stays around.

Fun and YUM
The Waiheke Island Yacht Club is a true experience. While on the more expensive side, the food is very tasty and well-worth it (we had the 5-course tasting menu and ordered the snapper with clams saffron cauliflower and vanilla for the table). The drinks are also fantastic--try the Beach As (yes, trust that you love the yuzu foam). I also recommend that you dress warmly; there are heat lamps and blankets, which make it really fun, but an extra layer can't hurt.
The pop-up restaurant is only open until Dec 25 so I highly recommend that you go now!

The Kiwi breakfast is delicious and beautiful. I love the mixture of different elements (bacon, hash potato, mushroom, toast etc), each complementing the "brunchiness" and of proper proportion to balance flavors and textures. The poached eggs were the highlight of the dish, two perfectly-poached teardrop-shaped pouches of gooey richness...mmmm!! The bellinis were outstanding, as is the Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc.

A treasure until December 31st
This was my third visit and I have to say the line caught snapper is amazing. Everything was good, even the venison tartare, which was interesting and I'm glad I tried it. You can't go wrong with Waiheke. The Moa breakfast beer is also a must try. I've never had it outside of New Zealand before and it is complex and perfect with the fish. The only bad part is they are closing on December 31st. I wish they would convert the restaurant to a permanent status, but it's not to be. Go before it's gone.

quite a nice experience
First time there. I would recommend visiting before it's scheduled closure. Did the Tasting menu. Most dishes were outstanding, with one or two being just good. Nice showcase of what's happening in New Zealand.

We keep coming back because the welcoming vibe, the terrific food and drink...we'll miss WIYC when it goes! The fish is heavenly, the Kiwi wine selection is wonderful and the service friendly and efficient. I finally tried the "TCHO crunchie" and it's really tasty, but so was the duck appetizer...I could go on and on :)

Waiheke Island a true Kiwi gem in SF! Such a great experience to be able to dine at such a wonderful short-term restaurant owned and operated by New Zealanders who came to our fine city to showcase their delicious cuisine and fabulous wineries found throughout New Zealand.

Ask for a table under a heater!
Ask for a table under a heater! The food was outstanding, but we ate with our jackets on because the room is freezing.
