While we where not part of the late crowd, one could sense the energy level in the room, even at an early time in the evening. Reception was quick and welcoming, the service was extremely friendly(both our server and the rest of the team), but the food was the star. For sure, one could taste and see that great care had been given ingredient selection, preparation and presentation. Stock in trade really is a beverage driven concept, but with food this good, I would definitely recommend that you eat across the menu, as we liked every dish we ordered.
(Caprese, Prawns & Grits, Back Ribs, Flat Iron Steak).

Great Monday night date spot
Stock & Trade is busy later in the week. Monday night it's nice and quiet, a great place for a first date or quiet dinner with a friend. Food is great.

We had brunch there and were nicely greeted.. We were all hungry and immediately ordered the delicious bacon caramel popcorn and the delicious bottomless Bellini. Then we each ordered a sandwhich and ordered the French toast and sausage Mac & cheese for the table. I had the chicken sandwhich which was perfect - tender juicy charred chicken on a nice soft bun with avocado, bacon and slaw. The sausage Mac & cheese is really good - cheese sauce and spicy sausage with well-cooked elbow macaroni is a great combination. The server was very attentive and friendly. The french toast was also very good, but pretty basic. The decor is expansive and fun with appropriate nods to the 'ranchero' style the place had before when in was La Barca.

Charming, Young and Fun Place
Bacon Caramel Corn as an appetizer, gastro pub menu and a mini bocce ball court tells you a lot about this place. It's playful, unusual and geared towards the young adult. We went there on the Sunday evening of a three-day weekend. Not a big crowd, but mostly young adults in mid-twenties to early thirties. My wife and I went for the burger (they make their own pickles, which is always a good sign) and pan seared halibut. Both were tasty and well presented. There is a lot more creativity on the very intriguing gastro pub menu that you'll want to check out. Their version of a Manhattan was tasty with sufficient kick. Can't speak first hand for the lunch or brunch menu, but if I were a local I'd definitely give it a shot.

Carmel bacon popcorn...YUMMY!
Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Our first time going there since La Barca was there. We loved La Barca and were unsure how this would compare. This was beyond expectations. The appetizers were incredible. We ordered way to many apps and didn't do our dinner justice. My halibut and my husbands pork chop were cooked to perfection. I can't wait to go back and try the burger.

Great Sunday Funday!
Excellent staff, great ambience, bottomless Mimosas and football. Stock in Trade is our new go to brunch spot. It doesn't get any better than this!

We would go back
Had dinner here on a Friday night. Service was friendly and the food was good. We were watching a game and they didn't mind us lingering at our table after we finished dinner. We would go back.

Sunday-Funday Football Brunch
Solid place to go if you want to watch football on some nice HD TVs and forget all about your team losing by drowning out your sorrows with mimosas. Very open and spacious bar and seating area so it would be a good place for a large group looking to get rowdy. We got there right as they opened at 10:30 and already had some people sitting at the bar watching the pre-show and there was a steady flow of people in and out until about 3 when we began to stumble out. Even if you aren't looking for someplace to drink and watch football their food was delicious and it had a great energy level. Will repeat again!

Great for a group
Took my parents to Stock in Trade for dinner on a Friday night. They were visiting from out of town and I wanted to take them somewhere approachable, but with a good sampling of classic American/San Franciscan food and good energy. The bacon caramel popcorn blew us away and the poutine is a must-order with rich chicken gravy, cheese curds and bacon. Dad had the pork chop which he said was the best he's ever had and Mom had the petrale sole which was also killer — the cashews add some great texture. Stock in Trade is definitely doing something right. We stayed for almost 4 hours just chatting and enjoying ourselves and I'll definitely bring them back on their next visit.
