Great addition to the Hill's
Great addition to the Hill's dining! Worth a visit even with only beer and wine.

Had the calamari and it was great. Had their chicken salad and the dressing was terrific. But I would totally go back for their minestrone soup and bread.

Excellent buratta and a very nice t-bone steak. Did not try the desserts but they look really good too. Authentic Italian food in a friendly, comfortable atmosphere. The pasta sauces are light and delicious. Vegetable risotto was one of the specials and it was truly fabulous! We have eaten here several times and the food and service have always been excellent.

GOOD FOOD ON A BAD NIGHT
We've eaten here several times and find the food quite good. We made reservations on a Saturday night and when we arrived it was total chaos. The Mgr said Open Table kept accepting reservations so they were wayyyyy over booked. We ended up getting seated about 25 minutes late - which wasn't too bad. They were offering a free glass of champagne but we were able to negotiate a free bottle of wine for our inconvenience. Hopefully the glitch with Open Table reservations was fixed.

Food was truly excellent. The atmosphere is very casual, but friendly. The bartenders could use some more knowledge about the wines that they are serving. Overall a great experience.

Every thing works here. From the hostess to our server, Jan, we couldn't have asked for anything more. This is a real gem in the PV wasteland of restaurants.

Misunderstanding this great place
I checked the ratings for this restaurant and noted a few immature comments mostly about the personalities and not the food. The fact that they provide an excellent wine list representing every region of italy and that they have on tap peroni and moretti beer tells one that the owner has a vision. How many times have you visited an Italian restaurant and been told at the end of the meal that we don't have espresso. This place has a large La Cimbali full automatic espresso machine In the three visits to Avenue Italy offering a true espresso. Ave. Italy have always provided great service. Regarding the food the lentil soup is a hand made masterpiece.

A little taste of Italy
We are new to the neighborhood so last Thursday evening was our first visit to Avenue Italy. We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We ordered two pasta dishes that were very well prepared...a seafood pasta with tender calamari and other seafood items, and the Funghi Ravioli in a marsala and sun-dried tomato cream sauce. The pasta was not overcooked and we enjoyed every bite. We will return.

So good we had to go back
Recently we had our wedding rehearsal dinner here, we had been given a recommendation for a restaurant beside this one but opted for Avenue Italy, and I am soooo glad we did. The waiter brought us a glass of champagne on the house, which was delicious. Followed by that we had the bread basket, the tapenade is to die for and the calamari, that was very good. The chef was so courteous, he came out to congratulate us, and offer suggestions. I saw him visiting with other tables too, which was nice. The lasagne was out of this world, as was the salmon. Everyone enjoyed their dishes immensely. And to finish our meal we had the creme brûlée which was exceptional. It was so good we came back on one of our honeymoon nights!

risotto is excellent
The chef Nima has a great expertise with this dish. the finish that he used on this dish is incredible. If you are nice he can create something for you too. He has a lentil soup that is the same as grandmom would make back in the day. It is always creative as was my risotto sparigi last Thursday evening. Eaten with a glass or ronero arneis which was a perfect accompaniment. Very attentive service from John and Abel too. You too will feel like a player in this house. A bella note awaits you in this establishment. I find that every ingredient is of the highest quality. On my next visit I will finally try the pasta. Until the giovedi promxima Ciao

A little pricey for a neighborhood
A little pricey for a neighborhood Italian. They have good food . But need to lighten up on the sauces. Pasta should not be drowned.

While attending a conference in the area we were referred to Avenue Italy Cucina Italiana by another attendee. We made reservations on the same day. When we arrive we were warmly greeted and offered three different table options. This was great because my dinner-mate would have been upset had we been seated at the small table just at the entrance. There is a great bar. The place is energetic. If you are looking for a quiet environment, this is not it. However, it was not so loud that you could not carry on a conversation. The service was good, the food was excellent. Great flavors. Big portions. I was looking at a bottle of wine in the $70-95 range and when asked the waiter recommended a much less expensive bottle! Love it!

We had our three grown children and their spouses for dinner there for our annual Christmas dinner minus the grandchildren. Appetizers were good, great calamari. The entrees were very good, but the service was what stood out that evening. Our waiter was busy handling the large parties including ours, but he was very attentive and keen on ensuring our comfort and satisfaction of the restaurant. Our children and their spouses enjoyed the evening and liked the meal.
