My wife and I went for dinner Sunday night. The food, drinks and service was fantastic. The mushroom toast was light and fresh, my wife's cup of tea. The chicken drumettes were lightly fried with a dash of a spicy red sauce, delicious. The lamb was perfectly prepared, lightly seasoned, with arugula salad and veggies. I also ate a slab of her duck. It was tender and flavorful. I had a couple old fashioneds and she had the house cab, both were excellent.
The owner, Brian, stopped by our table and we had a nice conversation about the restaurant and the food. I enjoy supporting neighborhood businesses and restaurants serving locally sourced foods. I'm recommending the Bentley to all my friends and we'll be back to sample the rest of the menu.

This just opened tavern is terrific! they did a great job redoing the vintage space, lovely and comfortable. The menu seems ambitious for a neighborhood spot, but everything was delicious. Great complementary flavors in the duck breast dish and the pork shoulder. Burgers were also a hit. cant wait to go back to try something else on the menu.

After much neighborhood anticipation, it finally opened. The decor is great....fresh, bright, comfy. The food was good (mine, the black cod with risotto, delicious; my husband's steak/frites was OK, he said) The place was soooooo noisy, we were glad we could sit outdoors. We will give them another chance. Nice wines and beers. Our friends were delighted with the variety of mixed drinks..

Great food - Okay Service
My boyfriend and I had been walking by this place for weeks waiting for it to open so we were excited to finally try it out. I loved the decor and ambiance and the food was SO tasty. I had the half chicken which was very "homey" and he had the duck which was outstanding. I was a little jealous. The brussel sprouts were pretty standard as was the cheesecake desert. They didn't have the wine my boyfriend wanted but we both got cocktails - I had cupid's kiss which was girlie but not sweet and very refreshing. He had the old fashioned which was STRONG but great.
Unfortunately our server was a little nonchalant. Rarely stopped by and when he did it seemed like he couldn't care less about how we were doing or what we wanted.

A great new neighborhood spot!
The Bentley Tavern was a great experience! My best friend and I met there for dinner to catch up and just from driving up, I knew it was going to be great and right up our ally in terms of ambiance. The outdoor patio looked so cute with nice flowers and the large windows emitting a warm light from inside. The decor inside was beautiful with candlelight at every table. The menu was small-one page-but it was perfect. Great selection from vegetarian options to a variety of meats including duck, lamb, chicken, and fish. Our server was wonderful and very helpful on selections. I would definitely go back here again and have already recommended it to friends!

We'll definately go back.
We saw this restaurant open in the neighborhood a few weeks ago and have been anxious to give it a try. My wife and I went there mid-week for her birthday. We found our waitress very enthusiatic and helpful. My wife had the roasted half chicken which was very genreous and delicious and she loved the buttermilk potatoes. At the recommendation of our server I had the pork shoulder which must have cooked slowly nearly all day because it was moist, tender and very tasty. We had a great time and look forward to taking friends there soon.

If you're in the area-
Tickets to the Athenaeum brought us to Bentley Tavern. Nice menu, good portions, nicely executed, decent drinks/wine/beer list. Flavors were very good but we were puzzled. There was no difference between the agnolotti and the pieroggi in terms of outer wrap. could've been pot stickers. Fillings and sauces were very good. Quail special on cheddar corn bread was great. Helpful staff, cute little place. Probably wouldn't go out of the way to stop in again but if other plans brought us around, we sure would consider going back.

GREAT new place
We had a grand time. We got there early when it was really quiet. Sat at the bar. We had so much fun talking to the bartender from LA that we stayed and ate at the bar too. She's a Chicago convert. She loves this city and her enthusiasm really shows. The food is very nicely executed. Some standards and some surprises. Good addition to the neighborhood.
