The food was great, but we probably won't return. It was sort of slow and chilly, and so incredibly loud, that although the singer sounded like he was probably very good, we couldn't hear him at all.

Beach City Gem
Love this restaurant! We brought our own wine; the corkage fee was $15 and we paired our wine with one of the best and cheapest cheese platters ever ($20). We could have filled up on the wine and cheese platter but then we would have missed out on the ravioli's that were to die for! Love the acoustic musicians and atmosphere...the fireplace adds just the right touch of coziness in combination with the open air feel of the adjacent outdoor patio.

Great Food, Neighborhood Gem
We tried the calamari, excellent. Light and perfectly cooked. The filet kabob and chicken kabob, outstanding. The table next to us had the salmon which they said it was also very good. We came early and we left before the musician started so the bar music was too loud. But I guess they figured it out and after about 45 minutes it was much quieter. Dessert looked good, we were too full to order it.

Brunch quiet peaceful lovely
Very nicely presented Brunch. We had a long day of driving ahead of us and decided to try Port's breakfast. It was perfect the Egg's Benedict was wonderful. My sister had the French Toast she loved it. I recommend this brunch experience. Easily located right off PCH.

For dinner we ordered the sea bass special and the yellow curry chicken plate. Both were excellent. The service was prompt and professional. The ambiance is unusual and not particularly attractive but the table next to the gas fireplace was cozy. The Port is worth at least one visit but it is unlikely to become one of our regular restaurants; there are many other excellent choices in Orange County. The bar area appeared to be lively and active on a Saturday night. The live music was good but the lack of a proper stage meant the performer was immediately adjacent to the dinning tables; the sound level made conversation somewhat difficult.

Always a winner
My husband and I always enjoy our date nights here.

Best Kabobs Ever
Delicious food and charming service. Impossible to talk, especially in a group when musician playing in bar area (right next to dining)--music was way too loud, although it was good music.

Happy Birthday Helen
We were in on July 20 and a large group was celebrating their mom's 80th. Great family and great service observed by me of the staff as well as servicing my wife and I. Joanne did a fantastic job. Food was tremendous.

What an excellent place...
This a truly enjoyable restaurant to go to. The appetizers are very good, as are the salds and entre's. The original table reserved was near the front , but the hostess did not hesitate to show us to another , better table the moment we asked. The folk singer on Saturday night was an added bonus. I was surprised that the place was not filled to capacity, and perhaps that's only because it's off the main street. What an excellent place this is.

Terrific Mediterranean Food
We were surprised by the menu after reading that this was a "continental" restaurant but were pleasantly surprised with delicious Mediterranean options and food was divine!

Dinner at The Port was delicious! Seafood pasta was full of all kinds of yummy fish and shellfish. Live background music enhanced the setting and added to the enjoyment. There is a daily Happy Hour with drink specials that can be enjoyed in the bar or on the patio. Lots of menu choices including middle eastern specialities like dolmas, skish kabob, and more. Looking forward to exploring more of these options.

This place has it all! Great food, live entertainment, attentive service, a delicious kid's menu, ambience and wonderful artwork gracing the walls. We dined for the first time last night and it was a delight. My 8 year old son came along and he loved it!

Excellent food, yet loud music
Our meal was excellent . Starting with fresh baked rolls and a nice selection of wines by the glass, to the melt-in-your-mouth Scottish salmon kebab, the food was wonderful. The loud live music made for difficult talking and was a times almost painful. For such a small and intimate venue, having amped up music is unnecessary and takes away from the excellent food. When we return, we'll try for a night of acoustic guitar or something less likely to be overly amplified.

Four of us each ordered something different. Everyone sampled all and all was good. We will return. The live music on a Sunday was a bonus.

1st Time at Port
Port is tucked away on a side street where the parking is tight and the two way traffic can be challenging. The outside appearance hides the cozy inside. However, once inside, the place has a special appeal. My girlfriend and I were seated next to the fireplace (romantic) and the waitress introduced herself very professional, and friendly. There was live music and a Happy Hour crowd, which made it a bit noisy. But this was to be expected. A good wine list to choose from. The real delight is the food. I had the Sea Bass special and the presentation and taste was excellent. My girlfriend had a Kabob and she could not get over the flavor of the rice. Overall, a great dining experience. Rich P

Very nice neighborhood gem
Went at 6pm on weeknight. Nice setting, parking can be difficult as movie theatre around corner, but there is a parking lot close, but probably theatre goers use it in spite of signage they are not supposed to.
Excellent Mediterranean food. Had filet kebobs--excellent and flavorful. Shrimp appetizer spicy and very tasty.
Pricing reasonable for quality. Service very good, but no busy when we were there.
Dinning room small, with fireplace, but open to bar area which can be somewhat noisy.
Overall great food

Good food, nice ambiance. Emphasis on Meditteranian style dishes. Entertainment was a singer and pianist. A little annoyingly loud, made conversation difficult.

I went with mt best friend for a nice dinner and night out. We split a bottle of wine and had the M&M duo for an appetizer. The eggplant dip is to die for! I followed our server's advice and went with their nightly special of Halibut for dinner...Best preparation and flavors. I will definitely be back, and much more often!!

Our party had an early dinner [no loud music at that time.] and enjoyed it immensely. Seating with a reservation was on-time and prompt. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We shared the med platter starter which was fresh, delicious, and generous. Wine list extensive and everyone had their own choice selection. Entrees were large portions all served together and hot. All in our group raved about the flavors and presentation. Special of Halibut was really fine. Scallops were tender and sweet. I could go on but you have to try it!

Port will never let you down with live music softly playing in the background to serenade you and your company. The mood is mellow, the food is delicious, the wait staff are efficient and friendly. It is a hidden gem in an otherwise busy neighborhood.

Perfect eggs benedict
We got here at 10 am on Sunday morning for brunch. We were the only people in the restaurant the whole time. Usually the service had been terrible. This time the bartender waited on us. He was great and the food was excellent.
