Everything exceeded my expectations
From the courteous and attentive server, to the variety offered in the menu and the quality of the meal, Foragers exceeded my expectations.

The best roast chicken
If you are looking for a neighborhood go to, this is the place. The menu is varied enough and small enough to encourage dining here several times a month. The prices are very reasonable; especially the fixed price menu. It is a charming little place, with accommodating wait staff and sensible portions so you don't feel leaving stuffed or underfed. It's proximity to the Joyce makes it a real plus as well! And the happy hour beers are really interesting and delicious!

Foragers - a Great Find
Didn't know what to expect from a restaurant within (or to the side) of a specialty grocery store. What a treat. From the warm greeting of the Hostess (no bother to sit 4 of us ahead of our party of 5 when hubby was running late), to the attentive (but not intrusive) waiter to the delicious & well prepared dishes, this was a charming evening out with family & friend to quietly celebrate my 15yr old daughter's b'day. (Restaurant was her selection - she was looking for a place, if not organic then at least, serving local & well-prepared food where available). Foragers gets our thumbs up on all counts.

I've been here twice, and both times the food and service has been amazing. The staff was both courteous and knowledgeable about their menu and wine pairings. We ordered from their regular and tasting menu, and everything we tried was just delicious.

Love the ingredients this Restaurant sources & the laid back yet collected atmosphere. Waiter left something to be desired and forgot a few notable things such as bread service & specials.
Overall great experience and we obtained some lovely items from the adjoining market which has great hours!

Fresh & delicious!
This is one of the few places I've found in NY that has farm to fork options that are creative and delicious!

Farm to Table - great dinner
Went as five for a birthday dinner and was great evening. Great menu and choice - pork belly was really tasty and gazpacho super nice. I was expecting them to make more of a story out of the 'Farm to Table' thing, but not much on the menu to really tell the story, which is a bit of a miss. It's all on the website. I suppose. Relaxed and friendly service - allowed us to sit before the whole party, so no unnecessary attitude - in fact quite the opposite. Cocktails were a bit hit or miss, but desserts all got a big thumbs up around the table. Definitely recommend and will go back - would like them to play up their uniqueness and give me a great story to tell everyone.

The food never underwhelms. Great service and good food made with the freshest ingredients. I'm nearby and a huge fan. If you're in Chelsea, Foragers is a must.

I can't wait to go back!
The whole experience was great from the friendly and kind hostess to the knowledgable and attentive server. The food surpassed our expectations, both with flavour and freshness. The only low point would be having to wait six months for the enxt buisness trip so that I can go again.

Brunch at Foragers-
-was a real treat! Took my cousin, aunt and uncle out for my cousin's birthday, and they were all impressed by the plating, and more-than-satisfied by the flavor and portions. Also loved the interior design and friendliness of the serving staff. Took a mini tour of the store next door afterwards. Also love that it's super accessible, and right by the High Line; a perfect way to spend a Sunday morning.

Dinner was fantastic. Food
Dinner was fantastic. Food was fresh and delicious. Despite reviewers who have said service is slow, we found service to be quite good though one more person on the floor may have been needed. Overall the flavors and selections, knowing that everything is as farm to table as possible, makes Foragers one of the best spots in Chelsea.

Food, decor, and ambience all were amazing. So glad this place is a couple of steps from my door.

runners need training
I love Forager's. The food was fantastic and our waiter was amazing. My only complaint is that the runners removed some of our party's plates while others were still eating. This happened during both our first courses and our entrees. Other than that, restaurant was great and I will definitely be going back.

Good Choice in Chelsea
Enjoyed the quiet candlelit setting for a delicious dinner Saturday evening... porchetta (a little more peppery than we like, but moist and good) for one, sea bass with tender little turnips and a wonderful parsnip purée for another... and after all the recommendations online for the eggplant dip we knew we had to start with that. It was a good as expected - definitely is a don't-miss!
Wines were kind of pricey.

This was a great find. The food was great, honest and unpretentious. There is a grocery store attached to the restaurant with lots of organic or "from the farm" products. I had the best Hamachi app ever. They were very accomodating to my dietary restrictions.

Easy atmosphere, really good food
Floor to ceiling windows integrate it with the neighborhood. Communal tables make it casual and convivial. Lighting makes it intimate while allowing you to read the menu. The stars of the menu were the quinoa summer salad and the pork loin roti. Yum. Glaring shorting: service was slow. Our waiter seemed clueless, as though it was his first day.

Outstanding food, attentive service, cool decor. A little loud but worth it.

Delicious and Healthy!
I loved Foragers Table. The space is very nice and modern but not cold. The food was great and healthy. I loved the Hamachi appetizer and the Crepenette. Two of us had the Spring Harvest and really enjoyed it. Our boys did not like it so much (too healthy) but liked their choices of the daily market fish and the pork wrapped in pork belly. We were too full to try dessert. My only complaint was that we were seated at a high table and it was not very comfortable. I know this isn't a problem for some but if you want your feet on the ground, you should request a low table.

We had a most enjoyable brunch.

Healthy & Tasty
Loved the pancakes! The Vegetarian Chili was also excellent! The portions were a bit small, the egg dishes only include 1 egg but the food was very good.

Once I got passed the woman
Once I got passed the woman at the front desk, everything was sublime...the food, recommendations and service were fabulous. Loved the duck!

Farm to table at its best
Food was impeccable and service was spot on. Would repeat in a heartbeat.

Amazing food. Poor wait staff.
This was an amazing dinner. Every morsel of food was perfection. Our flat-iron steak was like butter. Even dessert was delectable.
The waiters on the other hand needed training. We arrived for a 9:30 seating and felt rushed from the moment we sat down with the notification that we would have to hurry up as the kitchen closed at 10:00. The waiter that explained the specials and took orders, mumbled and had no passion for the food he was serving or the job he was doing. Another waiter brought out the appetisers and when we asked for bread we were met with rolling eyes even though there was compliance. This restaurant would have a line up and I would become a regular if it wasn't for their lack-lustre waiters.

Wonderful spot for foodies
Great combination of market and restaurant. Sustainable foods, good selection of cheeses, organic veggies and creative prepared foods plus an attractive restaurant with carefully prepared dishes, lovely presentation and professional servers. Enjoyed taking teenagers and my foodie sister. Everyone enjoyed dinner.

GOOD LITTLE SPOT
This place has a cool vibe to it. MARKET/WINE STORE/RESTAURANT. Took my wife and my two semi-vegan daughters and we all loved it. Eggplant dip was very good. Foccacia bread was excellent. Had a lovely waitress who recommeded a nice white. Checked it out later, way way overpriced as I looked up my $56 bottle and found it for $16 on the Internet. But, that is to be expected I guess and in no way would it discourage me from returning. Foie gras special was outstanding as was my lamb ragout with pasta. Chicken/salads and fish all very good as well. Small but very delicous dessert list. Maple pot of Creme was great. Great cappucino as well to finish it off!! With all the places in NYC to to chose from this one IMHO takes a backseat to no one.

Absolutely everything was delicious. My husband said that the hamachi with mint was the best he had ever tasted (which is saying alot). The blood Mary's were also made perfectly- just enough kick but not much. I can't wait to go back.
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Went here with my girlfriend and two friends. Everyone raved over the dishes they had. The only downer was our waitress seemed a little inexperienced.

Friday night with Friends
Went with my hubby and two of our dearest friends to Foragers. We had been there once before and knew they would love it... and they did! We started with the delicious Deviled Eggs and the Creamy Duck Liver Pate. The Seasonal Squash soup was divine, although my hubby said it wasn't a big enough bowl - he wanted more! My Long Island Duck was cooked perfectly and everyone was happy with their meal. Then, of course, there was the Maple Custard Dessert - oh my... heavenly! Our server, Kat, was friendly and spot on. We'll be back again. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience.

Expensive for what it is
For a place in the back of a take out gourmet take out shop with a communal table, cramped small tables and a bar with a limited menu, outrageously priced "mixology" selections, super awkward service, the food is inventive and pretty good.
But the prices are silly and we had to work hard to find two dishes we wanted to order.

Great find, a little loud
This is a cute spot on the corner in the Gem Hotel. It's lively bordering on loud. Huge windows allow for a view of the lighted Empire State Building if you are facing the street. Food was delicious. Loved the foie gras appetizer and the fish of the day which was skate. Excellent flavors. The server was knowledgeable and solicitous. I'd go back.

nice place and food.. my 2nd time at this restaurant and I still love it! i'll definitely go again!
11/9/2013 4:00:00 PM
The brunch dishes are unique and delicious! Our only issue was with the service. Although very friendly, we had to constantly wave someone down to ask for water when we sat down, then to order, then for more coffee. I would like to think they were just under staffed that day and the next time we go it will be better.
Also the noise levels are very high and you are shouting a little over a brunch table but that seems to be a trend in NY, hoping that will end soon before all our hearing is lost.

it was very enjoyable and
it was very enjoyable and I would definately go back.

One of a kind
Went for late brunch, loved the food and ambiance. Low key and casual, no pretension, but happening. Best of NY style, very cosmopolitan and high quality. Limited but excellent menu. A unique combo of a cafe, restaurant, bar and grocery. Extremely well done. Look forward to their dinner.
