So happy to have Sociale!
We loved our experience here. It was a lovely, comfortable space. The owner was present and very friendly. The food was delicious. I had the fava spinach starter, which was great. Fresh and light. I had the steak for a main, which was very good as well. Though I think next time, I'll go with pasta, those looked great. I highly recommend this place and fear that in a couple of months it will be impossible to get in!

My perfect BK staycay!!!
Sociale is more than a neighborhood gem, it's a New York diamond. Not only is the food delicious, but the newly renovated space shows that someone paid very special attention to detail.
For dinner I had the calimari appetizer and the special risotto of the day. Both were the best I've ever had. The calamari, cruncy and full of flavorful vegetables. The risotto was full bodied, full of vegetables and perfect in every way.
The dessert was melt in you mouth, I love tirimisu and this one met all of my expectations. Purely decadent!!!
I don't get into the city too much, but when I do Sociale is on my list for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, thank you for completing my awesome weekend getaway;) Best Food Ever!!! A very special place!!!

This was our second time to
This was our second time to the restaurant and it did not disappoint. We purposely tried all different courses than the last time. Each was wonderful in their own right. The octopus was tender and flavorful. The short rib did not need anything close to a knife, it was so soft. My risotto was cooked to perfection. The service and ambience is a 10/10. I would give the food a 9/10.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you are in the neighborhood you should go immediately.

Brooklyn Heights gem
Sociale is a truly welcome new addition to the neighborhood. The ambience is cozy if tight, service is friendly and attentive but very professional, and the food is as inspired and beautifully prepared as in any nouveau Italian bistro in Manhattan. Even the olive bread or a simple Bib Lettuce salad don't feel like afterthoughts. Be sure to save room for dessert; the Chocolate Tortola with Sea Salt Caramel Gelato is worth every calorie.

I loved the food, service and ambiance however it was really pricey!

Francesco accommodated us for running late (10 mins) ... This made the experience great from the beginning. We were a complicated food allergy table-- the service treated this a non-issue and everyone in the group ate something delicious without issue. The right amount of food per serving . Best thing was the price.
We will return and recommend.

I'm envious that I live in manhattan and the restaurant is in Brooklyn: but 2 blocks from the # 2 clark station- 20 minutes from 79th
The problem with the place is that very soon it will be impossible to get a reservation.

Nice neighborhood spot
Menu needs a bit more diversity and the noise level was quite high.

Great food, personal service
The food at Sociale is consistently good—fresh, well cooked, and beautifully presented. The services are friendly and attentive no matter how crowded it gets. Once we were dining there with friends, and my husband spilled his glass of wine all over the table; a little wine got into a couple of the dishes. The staff insisted on replacing not only the wine, but the affected meals, at no charge.
My only issue is with the acoustics. In colder weather, when it is crowded, conversation can be difficult. When it is warm and they open the large front windows, this isn't a problem. And overall eating there is a wonderful experience.

Dinner for two
Great, great Italian food. Ate by the bar for it was quite crowded in dining area. Very noisy and stuffy (hot). However, will return, as it was that good. Great wine list too.

Dinner for my parent's anniversary
I went to Sociale for my parent's anniversary. I had not been there before, but the menu looked good so we went. The entire experience was great. The restaurant wasn't too crowded (7pm on a Tuesday night) and the wait staff was very attentive. The food was great and my parents had a great time.

Delicious, though small plates
Perhaps I'm just spoiled by heaping piles of pasta that require a take out container to bring home, but the portion sizes here are smaller than you're probably used to. I'm familiar with appetizers being only a few bites, but tiny plates seem out of place at an Italian restaurant. Still, the quality of the flavors and cooking was wonderful and worth the price. The wine list is great and the house wines are reasonable (and tasty), and the dessert is phenomenal. Service was a little slow, but in fairness it was 8:30 on Saturday night and pretty packed to the gills. Will definitely come back, but don't expect to get rolled out on a stretcher like most traditional Italian meals!

Wonderful addition to Henry Street.
Food, service and wine list - all exceptional! Thrilled to have this neighborhood gem to add to my weekly rotation!
The polenta, the salads, the spaghetti pomodoro AND yummy desserts...I win!

The only drawback from an otherwise wonderful experience is the lighting. YOu can barely see your food. A single candle on the table is not enough. Something needs to be done to add to the lighting. Small lamps are preferable....or some overhead fixtures.

Really stellar food but bad decor
The food at Sociale is absolutely top-notch. The chef really knows how to balance the flavors and seasonings for a truly wonderful dining experience. Grilled octopus is perfectly prepared- the best I've had anywhere (and I eat grilled octopus a lot!). FIsh main courses were also delicious and the accompanying vegetables well-matched. Unfortunately, the decor is so dark and cave-like that it is almost impossible to see the food that you are eating. In the dark atmosphere, everything on the plate just looks brownish... In addition, with such wonderful food, they should drop the music level -- this is truly a restaurant and NOT a bar!

Finally, good food in the Heights!

Was a great find I would recommend to all. The food was over the top with prices that were surpising low.
