The food is consistently good at Cassis and I always love returning again and again. Good spot for dinner before an event at Lincoln Center.

Food and service are always
Food and service are always excellent. We try to come here whenever we are in NY. Five of us all had a great meal last night and we loved the fact that we could talk to each other with out shouting!! Too many places are so noisy these days that it spoils the dining experience.

Consistently delicious food
Very good French food. Great for outdoor dining.
Meals are never rushed.

Good neighborhood spot. Unfortunate
Good neighborhood spot. Unfortunately we ordered the center cut pork chop that came out like a breaded and fried cutlet on the bone, not exactly "center cut". The waitor was AMAZING and brought us a new dish after sensing this was not what we wanted. Very nice. Mussels were great.

Super French food
They never disappoint. This time I had sole meuniere, over thinly julienne veggies. It was perfect. Friends had escargot, having picked the place for the escargot. The escargot were also perfect prepared the classic way. The duck filet was sensational and the frisee salad au lardons was terrific. The baguette is always warm, delicious and the mousse pate with it -- an extra treat.

Good French Food
A friend and I split mussels and a Niçoise salad and they were both excellent as was the cappuccinos.

Great bistro food for all meals
This is a seriously authentic bistro with a tremendous dinner menu which includes perfect escargot, 4 different preparations of mussels, exceptional sole meuniere, duck and even venison from time to time. Their French bread is exceptional along with the pate mousse they serve it with at dinner -- a lovely touch. The brunch and lunch items are so good: crepes, croques, eggs and omelets, and those mealtimes are good warm weather opportunities to sit outside and watch the crowds going by while sipping bloody Marys.

Cassis delivers great food,
Cassis delivers great food, consistently, in a charming setting. Whenever I eat there, I chide myself for having stayed away so long.

A Nice Surprise
My wife and I dined at Bistro Cassis Manhattan prior to going to the opera. The service was first rate. The waiter was attentive, polite and thoroughly professional. My duck was perfect and my wife's sole meuniere was excellent. We shared profiteroles which were first rate. Highly recommended!

After two visits here, I would go again. Trout amandine was buttery on fresh slightly crisp, fresh green beans. My dinner partner had crusted tuna sushi, ordered medium-rare. It looked a little too rare to me, and she didn't finish it but didn't complain. Service was very good. I like the energy in the room and the robust spirit of the waiters. The tab: $130 before tip for the two entrees, two glasses of okay wine, one dessert and two decaf cappuccinos.

A Memorable Evening
We happened upon this cozy , French bistro last year when visiting the Upper West Side and returned just recently for a second time .
Both experiences were positive in every way . The food was delicious , the waitstaff attentive and unobtrusive and the food arrived in
the appropriate time . The wine selection was decent but limited and a little pricey . That didn't over shadow the experience in the least.
We enjoyed our evening at Cassis very much and look forward to returning next year when we visit the Upper West Side again .

Small restaurant with outstanding
Small restaurant with outstanding food, especially the mussels. Not inexpensive, but good size servings. From greetings heard to guests from staff, obviously a frequent stop for many neighborhood residents. Waiters could be a bit more attentive, but also don't rush you out. Not a bar hangout because the tiny bar only seats 3 or 4. Good location for Lincoln Center events.

I usually only visit NYC 2 -3 times a year - but always make a point of visiting Cecsa every time....its consistently very good food, great atmosphere and great service.

Two friends and I had dinner here on a Thursday night. The service was friendly and gave us plenty of time to chat before ordering. The food was good--authentic versions of salads and duck a l'orange. A nice, relaxed bistro atmosphere, too--made for a very pleasant experience.

Great meal great service
Mussels were small but the portion was large.
I wish the mussels were bigger because I love big mussels but only a few w grit/sand and none were fishy and bad. All good!
Great wine. Great service without bothering us
Love the pate. Love the beef special and the french onion soup and fresh bread
