Fickle is something different if you are looking for a break from the norm. The food is interesting and pretty good. The portions for the price are small and the oysters are miniature so beware. The service is outstanding! Our waiter, Eddie, was very attentive and was eager to help with a smile and true enthusiasm every time he came around. Fickle is a nice place to try once in awhile, just be prepared to leave hungry.

Wonderful Birthday Dinner
The food was spot on. I really recommend coming with a group so that you can share and try a lot of different things. My favorite dishes of the evening was the sweet breads and bone marrow. The kale salad was exceptional as well.
As a note, it does get a bit smokey when dining inside since there is no divider with the kitchen. They have outdoor seating available to those sensitive to smoke.

The food was creative and delicious all at the same time. Scallops and shrimps were tender and juicy with a blended taste combining both the western and eastern cooking styles. Feel like exploring fusion food? Then Fickle is the place for you.

Met some girlfriends for an early dinner and ordered from the happy hour menu. Every dish was delicious and the portions were generous. Wonderful friendly service. Would definitely return!

Great Food in J-Town!
Fickle is an excellent restaurant with some of the most delicious dishes! The Braised Short Ribs fall off the bone and melts in your mouth. One of the tastiest dishes on the menu. The Halibut is also fresh and tender. The Lamb meatballs are unrivaled and is perhaps the tastiest meatball anywhere! The service is attentive and the location is in the heart of Little Tokyo where the outdoor seating gives the customer a great view of the town. Great food, good service and well worth return visits!!!!

Great food, great time
I visited Fickle under the recommendation from a few friends and really enjoyed my time there! I ended up trying the DineLA menu and was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. The dishes were savory, but still light and refreshing. Also, the menu flaunted some interesting dishes for all of you who are up for trying new things. Since we sat outside, we got a nice view of passerbys (though sometimes loud honking buses were not appreciated). Overall, the restaurant is trendy yet cozy - a definite good vibe for the younger crowds. Service was good too - servers are attentive, but not constantly in your business. I would recommend this place for happy hour, or for a dinner date with your romantic someone or even friend.

I had a happy in my tummy!
The menu here is very different than every other place in this particular section of town and was quite exciting. After sitting down I was given a small bowl of their special popcorn which is seasoned with Coriander, Cinnamon, and more. Since I was alone, I ordered only two dishes. the roasted cauliflower and brussels sprouts were very well done and came with an aioli sauce for dipping which made the vegetables sing. The highlight of the evening for me was the other dish. This was called Local Asparagus and it is the most unique dish I've had in a long time. It was a risotto made with beets and asparagus, topped with fried Kale that was seasoned with salt, garlic and lemon zest. Absolutely outstanding!

The seafood paella and the mussel oxen were both very good. Would go back just for the mussel oxen. The avocado fries were also excellent, if a little heavy.
Dessert was the low point of the meal, unfortunately. The hazelnut chocolate cake was a little dry and the rice pudding was bland.

It is a good and small restaurant
It is a good and small restaurant in Little Tokyo and you may may see see the eastern influence on the recipies. Food and friendly service. Original dishes. One negative comment: they have a convention with a nearby parking. You pay 7$ and of you stay in the restaurant up to one hour you get the money back ..... but in one hour even with an empty restaurant you cannot be finished. Hence be ready to play your 7$£

Need to give it another go
The reason why I would like to try this place again is because the service was outstanding. The owner even came out and talked to us and offered us a free dessert. As for the food, everything was tasty, but it wasn't enough for me to want to go back strictly for the good. I tried 5 dishes + oysters. They have a great happy hour menu and I would like to go back to try some more things before I make a real decision on whether or not I would keep this place on my restaurant roster.

What a surprise!
We were totally surprised by how great this restaurant was! We needed to have an early dinner down in Japantown...and scoped out a few places. The food here is just delicious. Happy Hour was a gem! Great happy hour
Came during happy hour and was able to try a few great dishes from the menu and indulge in good wine!

Some nice interpretations on some classics. Potatoes were terrific. The Baked Alaska was a gem. Kimchee Oxtails and mussels. Who knew? The squash is worth a miss and portions were a bit meagre but overall worth a try. Wanna go back for lunch. They need a liquor license.

What a great menu, and several things were truly delicious. We eat out in DTLA a lot and Fickle will definitely be a "go-back-to" place. Bone marrow, oysters, Yukon Gold potatoes, pork belly, and more....plus great Happy Hour beer and prices. Booze and food for two, including dessert, $88. Can't beat it!

Sandwich shop by day, restaurant by night. Small but creative menu. Terrific tiramisu cheesecake dessert

There's nothing fickle about Fickle
Fantastic, delicious, amazing food! What a gem! Each dish was more tasty than the next. Try the avocado fries and the sweet corn risotto! We will definitely be back.

A fun place w/ great food
Mainly small plates, all wonderful, if a bit heavy on the fried/buttery/fatty side, but certainly worth it on occasion. Fresh and smart furnishings; friendly staff.

Innovative and truly fabulous
Fickle totally blew me away. Everything here is so creative and carefully put together. It's such a breath of fresh air. Chef James is brilliant, and a heck of a nice guy to boot.
Do not miss the avocado fries, the risotto, the black bod and the porkbelly. Nice wine list too!
Everything was truly incredible. Impossible to pick a favorite, all the dishes were all excellent in preparation, fresh, quality ingredients and so innovative. The service was excellent by everyone we encountered. I can't wait to bring my best foodie friends here. Great price point too. Anytime we can get out for dinner for around $100, including wine, we are overjoyed.

You can't go wrong at fickle. 2nd visit was just as scrumptious as the first. Kale salad-amazing. Risotto-stupendous. Avocado fries-melt in your mouth incredible. This is a great dining spot before heading to a show downtown. Don't miss it!
