I was really impressed with Acabar's selection and quality. Given Octavio's track record at Pallate, I was curious to see if he was going to pull it off. Staff was very professional and the place looks amazing after a tired looking Dar Maghreb. Well done.

Little Door bros. have taken over the old site of Dar Maghreb- it looks beautiful. Full of moroccan tile and artifacts--a stunning place. The restaurant has not grown into itself yet, it needs more time. The service, while caring, is uneven.
The portions are delicious but very tiny, you leave feeling a bit hungry...... although a party of 2 won't be paying under $200 with tip and valet.
Lots of staff, perhaps too many- and not all in keeping with the tone of the restaurant....the staff needs a weed-through we felt, based on the feel they are trying to achieve.
In a couple of months it will all be perfectly magnificent, and will be a bit difficult to get into. Just like the LIttle Door!
Bon Chance to Acabar!

Dar Magreb Who?
What a stellar reinterpretation of this amazing space! The decor and ambiance is outstanding, and the food and service top that...hard to believe!
DO NOT MISS the Steamed Buns with Duck Confit. Seriously. I have never had anything that tasted that perfect before!

Great atmosphere, exotic food
We stopped by on a Sunday night to grab a bite and listen to the live entertainment in the lounge. It turns out that they now offer their full menu on Sundays, which is preferable because there are so many more options. Some notable favorites include the sardines (I thought I didn't like sardines until I tried their version), charred octopus, spicey shrimp skewers, and fresh oysters from the cru bar. They have a great wine list with many domestic and import options, including some rare wines that are hard to find. The live entertainment was a French band that was a little different yet fun. The lounge is beautiful with semi-private tables for our group to hang out and enjoy the drinks, entertainment and ambiance. So much fun!

A Little Confused
We've been to Acabar twice now and really love the innovative food and ambience. Feels like it belongs in New York. Cannot understand why it wasn't more crowded when we went the last time, although it was a Tuesday night.

The interior of Acabar is a feast, and the food is exceeds expectations. The staff could not have been more friendly & knowledgeable.

The restaurant is all-around fantastic. The attention to detail is very rare in today restaurant scene - from the intricately designed space, to the service and the interesting menu. Great night out. However, be prepared for a pricey evening. The bill kind of sneaks up on you. I spent 250 for two with 70 of it being a cocktail and modest bottle of wine. The bill is not a complaint because the experience was really nice ... but it will govern how often I indulge in Acabar. It'll be for special occasions.

Young crowd comes late, let's us older foodies have a great dinner before the noise level goes up and the cellphones light up the faces of the 20-something's in their size zeros.

We absolutely LOVED our time at Acabar. The food was outstanding, I loved how it was structured into small plates. The wine was great. The ambiance was probably the strongest point about the whole restaurant. I felt like I was eating in a palace. The waiter was also excellent. We will definitely come back again.

Stunning and unique
First of all, this is one of the most beautiful and interesting restaurants in Los Angeles. After passing through the gleaming brass doors, you are transported into a magnificent Moroccan palace. The place is visually stunning. The atrium entrance has an enormous bar separating the lounge area at the right from the dining area at the left. We had delicious specialty cocktails in the lounge before dinner. I recommend trying one of the hand crafted cocktails instead of a well drink you can get anywhere. We loved the food. It is served tapas style, so we got to try several different dishes. Only note is that some of the side dishes are on the small side, Overall, we had a wonderful experience. Very unique and highly recommended!
