Even though we waited for 50 minutes on a Tuesday night to get our reserved table, we had a positive experience at this tiny spot. Great service, very good food, nice wine (though only one person mentioned the 1/2 off bottle deal that was available that night), and nice atmosphere. It is a small space and pretty loud, but not terribly so. I would definitely recommend and I will return.

The food is consistently great, they bake their own bread on premises, and the price points are really low considering the quality. I'm sort of happy R&S is a bit out of the way because it would be ludicrously popular in the middle of the Slope or on Smith Street. A real gem. Also: avoid the Pines across the street at all costs!!

Great food. Service inattentive.
An unforgettable pasta dish. Excellent. Great bread. Very nice waitstaff, but incredibly slow and fairly inattentive. A very, very hot day and water took a very long time to come. Menus too. The place isn't well airconditioned, so it was extremely uncomfortable. Dessert order also took so long we were inclined to skip it.

Fabulous food.; everyone in our group agreed. Unusual architectural features. Brooklyn at its best. A real treat. Our server was terrific, with a calm style and a great sense of humor.

Nice to dine in
This was a last minute decision to dine and the other place we were looking for did not work out and we decided to try this place and we had an amazing experience. First off, this place is a bakery and they have baked stuff in the morning along with coffee and espresso/latte/cappuccino. However, their dishes turned out to be marvelous as well and it is a must-try place.

Food interesting and delicious. Downstairs dining room feels intimate and was not too loud.

Great bread, baked in house and excellent cocktails, with home made bitters and infusions. Limited menu, particularly for vegetarians and kosher diners (forget about gluten free). There are 3 or 4 pastas and 3 or 4 meats. Beautifully designed.

Bread...and Much More!
Runner and Stone has a marvelous bakery that provides bread to other restaurants in the area, but their menu is stellar on its own. The interior is rustic and uses natural materials, and the menu is a wonderful blend of inventive and comforting. I loved everything on the table and would go back in a minute! Favorite new neighborhood restaurant!

Wonderful in every way
Runner and Stone is just great - the staff is very nice and welcoming, the atmosphere is mellow, and amazing food - beautiful handmade pasta, a great fishcake wrapped in bacon, tasty duck pastrami - just fantastic. Nice reasonably priced wine list as well. I'd definitely give Runner and Stone my highest recommendation.
