Amazing place for beer geeks
Both the food and the variety and quality of beers were top notch. Looking forward to spending more evenings there!

I'll be back
We were there on their first official day open July 1. The place is huge with lots of patio space as well but the Jays game had ended and there was a big line to get in. As you would expect, the beer list consists of mostly Amsterdam beers but there is a good variety of styles and we had some very good quality craft beer. The Vicar's Vice, a dark ale, was my favourite. Food is what you might call upscale pub food. Service was a little slow but our server was very friendly and kept us updated on the kitchen's progress and considering it was their first day and how many customers were there I'm not holding it against them. We'll go back for sure.

July 7, 2013: Amsterdam BrewHouse
I checked out the Amsterdam BrewHouse with a group of friends on a Friday night around 9pm. I booked a reservation online that evening using the brewhouse website, which was a good idea considering there was a long lineup when we arrived.
I've been a fan of Amsterdam (particularly their new brewery in Leaside) for a while now and the BrewHouse certainly lived up to my expectations. I started the night with the Leaside flight, followed by a pint of Maverick & Gose, a Scotch Egg from the restaurant, a pint of Fracture, and a Vicards Vice. The food (based on my groups opinion) was alright for the price but could be improved. Around 11pm the music switched to dance/house music which seemed odd and out of place.
Overall it was a great night

Great ambience on a Friday night, service was extremely friendly although really slow at times. Get a reservation though, and try and get something near the patio.

Awesome historic but re-modelled location, incredible beer selection and service, great food pairings. Try a flight!

Didn't know what to expect here as the place just opened. Food was a little pricey but was surprisingly good for upscale pub food.

Great New Addition!
Amsterdam Brewery is a great new restaurant in the harbour front area. Going into it, I was expecting regular bar food but boy was I surprised. My boyfriend had the ribs and I had the lemon chicken. Both AMAZING. We will definitely be making that our regular spot for lunch, brunch, dinner, and an outing with friends. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and beer. The beer we had was really great and we cannot wait to go back to try more!

Amsterdam Brewhouse Review
Overall, I enjoyed my time at this restaurant. I found the service to be quick and very friendly. However, we were not aware of the "list" for a patio table. We arrived around 9:30 and told our server that we would like a patio table, but were told there was no availability. About an hour later, a large table left on the patio. We asked again if we could sit at that empty table and were told that there was a wait list. If we had of known this, we would have put our names on it right away. Around midnight, we asked the server outside if we could sit at the empty table and were told we could. If we had of been seated on the patio earlier, we would've ordered more. As it was, we had to leave in half an hour so we did not order anything more.

Great Summer Evening
This is our second time to Amsterdam Brewhouse. As it was dinner time on Sunday evening on a prime summer day, we made advanced reservations through OpenTable. It was a good plan as we were able to by-pass the 40 foot line-up at the door. We requested an edge of a patio so that our puppy could stay tied up at the outside edge close to us. On arrival, they were absolutely ready for us. We were thoroughly impressed.
The craft beers are a lot of fun and the service and outdoor setting are amoungst the best in the Harbourfront area.
We will be back.

This will be a great addition to the neighborhood once the opening bugs are worked out. Kitchen had trouble keeping up with the orders... I felt sorry for the servers who had to deal with impatient guests. This will only get better with time

Awesome beer, great location
Amsterdam is one of the leading lights in the city for making adventurous craft beer and this brewpub is the perfect setting to showcase their great brews.

Anniversary at Amsterdams
Really enjoyed our meal at Amsterdams this past July 17th. Our server was wonderful...appropriately attentive. Our food was served in reasonable time, and was delicious. The only complaint I might have was that the particular table we sat at seemed to be in a dead space as far as the A/C went...we were uncomfortably warm for most of the meal. I think it was simply an unfortunate choice...my husband and I were at the restaurant a couple of days after it opened and we were in a wonderful, cool area.

Great addition to the waterfront
One of the best patios in the city. Perfect before a Jays game. We'll go back for sure.

Went in expecting typical pub fare.....came away surprised at how amazing the food was. Great beer as well. Will certainly head back.
Only two complaints. 1) Music was loud and terrible. 2) I paid a couple extra bucks for sweet potato fries, which is reasonable because the fries were delicious. The problem was that the container which holds the fries was maybe half full. Perhaps someone in the kitchen got hungry.

It was so good...
We were back for lunch with our group the very next day. The wait staff is quite incredible. I unfortunately can't remember the name of our waitress on Friday night, but she was incredibly pleasant, funny, entertaining and helpful with the menu and beer suggestions. Generally speaking the food is comparable to other pubs and bars, other than the wood oven pizza, which we all felt was pretty exceptional. We really enjoyed trying the different beer flights and recommendations. For a group our size it was a perfect social additive
This new addition to the Harbourfront definitely kicks it up a notch with service. Great place, and phenomenal job with their opening month!.

A great lakeshore bar
Located walking distance to the Rogers centre, this brew pub has everything you need for a casual meal and drinks. A huge selection of beers/ beer cocktails, as well as a few non beer drinking options are available. The food is creative for a pub, including the usual options as well as a few with a twist. salads made with kale, burgers with brisket ( warning - the burgers we ate we're all very dry) pizza with bratwurst. All around, a good experience and will go back again.

Great New Bar on Toronto's Waterfr
Great place, massive indoor and outdoor space. Fresh keg beers. Thai wings are the best I've had and I've had a lot of wings.
Service was slow, roast beef dip was the worst I've ever had. The meat was tough and hard to eat.

surprising good for a beer place
beer was great! and food was really delish! Not the typical pub food you would expect - yummy salads and sandwiches. Would totally go back.

The entire experience was great! We sat outside at the waterfront. Very cool to see the planes coming in at the island airport. We ordered our "flight tour" of beer which gave a nice variety to sample. Our food came very quickly and was very good! Great location to come and have some beers and food before the Jay's game! Would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a good beer!

Great restaurant and location.
Great restaurant and location. The staff seemed a little disorganized though - we had a reservation and waited at least 10 minutes for our table. Once we were seated it took our server over 15 minutes to come to our table and acknowledge us - when she did she only left menus and said she would be back to take our meal order. Long story short - it took us a good half an hour to get seated and something to drink - which isn't what you expect when dining out, especially when you make the effort to book a reservation.

CRAFT BEER HEAVEN!
We had a table at the window overlooking the water, watching sail boats and it was GREAT! We got right in with our OpenTable reservation. The food was amazing. The onion rings were delicious. The dessert was AWESOME!! The local craft beer selection was really ample with lots of styles to choose from. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we are sure to make it one of our "go-to" places. Thanks, Amsterdam!

Great Food, Great Server
Our Server was attentive and friendly. She was quick to take our orders, and always checked-in before our glasses went dry. We all tried different pizzas which were all excellent. Will definitely be back soon!

Everything was so good.... I'm not sure i would pay $15 for a salad again

Food had a lot of flavour.

Busy, efficient and fun
The place was full on a Tuesday night. The reservations are managed very efficiently, one hostess run a "database", and when the table is ready you get a text message. The place is big enough to loose control, but it is not happening - the staff is on top of it. Food arrived without delay, and was quite good.
The tables outside have a greta view of the harbour. There was a lot of peole inside and outside, mostly in their 20-30ies, everybody seemed to have great time, so it was quite noisy. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun.

Great beer selection and lovely view of the Toronto waterfront.
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Nice setting and deco
Appetizers (Poutine and Scottish Egg) so lala, but main dishes (salads) quite good. Service is great and beers interesting. They just opened in June apparently.

Good food, great beer
The atmosphere is fun - the place is huge but didn't feel too overwhelming. Good views inside and out. Beer flights are awesome.

Great experience at Amsterdam!
This was a good surprise for us. It has been ages since Harbourfront has received a restaurant we'd be comfortable with going back to time and time again. The food was great, timely and served by a great waitress who was helpful and knowledgable. The atmosphere was fun with a great view and fireplace and well designed to match the brand and neighbourhood.
Our dessert was the only issue and it was fixed immediately and taken off the bill. It was served partially ice cold when it should have been warm throughout. These things can happen, it's how it's handled that makes the difference, which in our opinion was very well.

Good to have this beer bistro back
Remembering the original John&Richmond Amsterdam brewpub and a smaller one at King&Portland looked forward to this revival. Location is great for the summer, on the waterfront overlooking the island. Of course, the whole point of the bistro is to sample a great range of craft beers while enjoying an appropriate menu, from lighter snacks to full main courses, and there's no disappointment here. Not a gourmet menu, it's a very substantial one that rises above "pub grub" and everything I've had on both visits was well prepared. But the point is the beer, and on offer are almost a dozen fresh variations from the regular Blonde pils to the hoppy Boneshaker IPA, with lots in between. Nice to have Amsterdam back in the restaurant business!
