Found a new Foodie Spot in Reston!!
Taking the place of the old Market St Bar & Grill located inside the Hyatt Regency hotel in RTC, Tavern 64 is a pleasant surprise among the sometimes drab dining options in Reston. Food is all locally sourced and wonderfully prepared. Wait staff is knowledgeable, attentive. Our waiter took special care to avoid allergies and made sure our dinner was perfect. A manager and a chef made appearances at the table and were visible throughout the night (this maybe due to it's recent opening; I hope they continue to make a point of being visible in the dining room). Pork Belly appetizer and Scallops & Bacon entree were definite highlights of the menu. My only complaint is that the noise level is EXTREMELY loud!!

Nice Find in Obscure Corner of RTC
Go out of your way to walk to this American "farm to table" concept. They start with an assorted bread selection. The three in my party split the seafood pottage, which was good, if a little small. I had rockfish with artichoke slaw and jalapeno cheddar grits was good and a buddy liked the brisket which appeared to be textured like slow roasted beef. I topped dinner with a root beer float (Dominion root beer and a vanilla gelatto). The staff was very helpful and patient. and even had us sample some wines, including a taste of port. Ambience-wise, the room is a little noisy and feels like a hotel restaurant so probably not the best choice for a quiet dinner, but most casual diners will be very pleased with this little gem.

Last minute find
We read a review in the paper about the opening of the restaurant and decided to go out at the last minute. They were able to seat us right away, and the food was great! I love and appreciate that everything on the menu is locally grown and harvested. It tasted fresh and delicious, and was surprisingly well-priced. We had a great time!

We enjoyed our food and had a very nice waitress.
The music was too loud. We asked a couple of times, and the hostess finally lowered it to a level where we could carry on a conversation. Hyatt needs to think about the type and volume of music they are using.

When there is a short menu but I have a hard time choosing, it's usually a good sign, which held true at Tavern 64. The food was all great, from the smoked fish appetizer, the bread, my rockfish and my companion's brisket. I would not hesitate to get anything o mthe menu, which is nicely priced for ann upscale local-sourced restaurant. The cocktails we most excellently crafted, with an interesting selection of spirits. The service was okay, but not yet smooth, which is not unexpected inn a restaurant that is only open for ten days. Besides, the Taste of Reston ws going on, which surely brought many walk-ins. All-in all, this is a restaurant that we will not only visit again, but anticipate being a regular favorite.

New place in Reston a MUST to try..
The food was delicious (rockfish) , service was excellent and the ambience is wonderful. What a nice change from the Market Street Bar Grill. A great add to the Reston restaurants..

Solid food and service
The food at Tavern 64 is locally sourced, healthy, and delicious. I am very conscious not only regarding my health but also sustainability. I hope Tavern 64 lasts and the prices do not go up, because it is delicious, healthy and priced well. I will definitely be going here quite often. I highly recommend the pork belly appetizer, it is amazing.

We had a great experience at the new Tavern 64. What a difference from the tired old restaurant that used to occupy that space. The menu focuses on sophisticated comfort food and it was hard to decide which dish to order. Will be dreaming about the spare ribs served with mac & cheese!! My friend ordered monkfish and said it was perfectly prepared. We loved what they've done with the bar -- it is bright and open and serves very interesting beers on tap. Imagine, a sophisticated adult bar in Reston!
Service was friendly and attentive. The young staff is clearly enjoying their jobs.

there was a lot of good options
there was a lot of good options as everything on the menu is sourced from local farms. the cauliflower soup was a great starter and really like the heirloom tomato salad. both the monkfish and rockfish were above average and the service was perfect.

The food was great. We loved the fact they use local food and alcohol products. The drinks were a little pricey, but still good. Overall everything was great!

We were there July 4 for a birthday lunch...food was fabulous, very creative, beautifully presented. We were delighted w/chilled btl of water as soon as we sat down. We each got something different to share...all excellent! Our server was very pleasant and accommodating, decor is extremely attractive...loved dishes/napkins. We all will definitely go back for lunch/dinner. A welcome addition to the Reston Town Center...big improvement over Market Street Grill which was just too expensive/dull. Only thing that did give pause was $15 for shot of Patron Silver on the rocks, which from experience is about $3-4 more than other Town Center restaurants, so will stick to a rail drink next time or at least ask before ordering top shelf items.

Great Addition to RTC
I didn't even know Tavern 64 was there until I looked at the dining options on the RTC website. I've lived in the area for 10 years and thought I knew it all, apparently I didn't because I don't often go down to that end of the Town Center. Boy was I missing out. Tavern 64 is fantastic! We went on a Wednesday night and it was busy but not crowded. They have a great micro beer menu and wine list. The menu has enough options to be dynamic but not so many that it's overwhelming. We started with the pork belly appetizer. It's the best thing I've eaten in recent memory. For dinner I got the Rockfish and my boyfriend got the NY Strip Steak. Both meals were good but next time I want to try something else. This place is a must try.

We are big believers of the farm to fork concept. We are glad to see these concepts open. The food was quite good and service was excellent.

Organic food in Reston!
Great food and service -The only organic sustainable restaurant in Reston! Great place to go out with friends or family!

Good restaurant, the menu is farm to table which we like. I think they could have a few more items on the menu and early on the food was a little salty but they seem to have corrected that. I ask for my food now with light salt. I keep coming back, oh and the new ambiance is very nice.

Great outdoor ambiance & good food!
Ours was a gathering of old friends, so we enjoyed the quieter outside area on a beautiful evening. Service was impeccable. Menu was varied enough for each of us to find a fave. We had the vegan wrap, monkfish and rockfish; all were awesome and beautifully presented. The watermelon salad and brussel sprouts as sides to share nicely rounded out the meal. I don't usually lean to hotel restaurants, but this one was totally worth it. You don't even know you're in a hotel.

Had a wonderful dinner here with a friend. Everything is sourced locally, which made for both a more interesting menu and incredible flavor to the dishes. We had the Rockfish and the Monkfish and both were nicely prepared and delicious. I recommend!

The food is good but not something I'll go back to or crave for. Service is great. Very nice ambiece, very nice, fresh decor. I like the bread.

Nice addition to Reston
We liked the change to the restaurant in the Hyatt! The diner had high and lows. Great small plates (sausage) and the bread!
The fish dishes were very bland though.
The brisket was good with very tender meat, although a bit under seasoned as well.
The wine (Pinot Noir) and the bread pudding were excellent!!
Prices were fair and the service was very good.

A great local restaurant with unique dishes using local ingredients. The menu has been influenced with hints of the local history. The service was excellent. We went to Tavern 64 to meet with friends from out of town. While the local touch on the menu made it a great place to do that, the noise level made it difficult to have a conversation at our table at times.

The food and service are great and the prices are very reasonable bordering on cheap for what you get.

This is absolutely the best new restaurant in the area. Our dinner was nothing short of spectacular. Our guests, who typically only dine in the new restaurants in DC, were just blown away. Appetizers (local sausage a hit) are so unique that we had a tough time narrowing our choice. Entrees (Rockfish, monkfish, scallops) were perfectly prepared. One of the reasons we keep coming back is that the staff is so pleasant. From the host to the waiters to the bartenders they all seem so happy to be there.
We would recommend Tavern 64 to anyone. (and we have!)

Good food - VERY LOUD
Good local food. Sausage appetizer was awesome. Because we were getting full after the wonderful appetizer, we opted for the soups (seafood chowder and cauliflower soup), both of which were great. But, we yelled at each other over our meal. Way too loud. The service was ok. The servers were obviously very well trained on the menu... too well trained and not savvy enough to realize that we were content to choose on our own with a very few questions. Hard to fault folks who have been trained and are trying. Find some way to cut the noise, train the servers to follow the customers' lead, and in time the service will improve, please!

Still a favorite
Tavern 64 is named after the year Reston was founded (1964). It has replaced the Market Street Grill in the Reston Hyatt. I liked Market Street, and Tavern 64 seems to be just as good. Five of us celebrated a friend's birthday lunch there, and the food and service were very good. The complimentary dessert (bread pudding and apples) was special and oh so good. We would have eaten outside had the weather cooperated. Anxious to try dinner. The decor is light, airy, and modern. It is one of the few restaurants in Town Center that does not require a long wait, and it has a variety of tables and booths big enough for groups. And you can actually have an intimate conversation! It will be a favorite of mine.

Love the Fresh, Local Fare
This is my new favorite Reston restaurant due to its interesting menu choices, including jalapeno-cheddar grits, and Federalist chardonnay. The service staff is friendly and accommodating. They may want to re-think the bread though to simple, fresh-baked varieties vs the heavier and too-sweet options currently offered.

outstanding food in Reston
The food was dynamite. The wait staff wasn't at the level as the food, but lets give that some time. Can't wait to return for another fantastic meal!!!

Taverm 64 a Welcome change
I like he new Tavern 64 at the Hyatt more than previous restaurants at this location. The food is good, the service is great, and it is quiet enough to hold a conversation over lunch. Too many places are so noisy that a business meal is impossible. Not so at Tavern 64. We got a lot done at a recent lunch and enjoyed the experience.

Nice place for a special dinner
I took my husband to Tavern 64 for his birthday. We were greeted warmly and led directly to our table. They had a nice selection of unique cocktails and wines for dinner - and they weren't overpriced as they are at many other restaurants. We decided to have a small plate (me - the sausage and my husband - the beef sliders topped with a quails egg) and a salad - (me the sprout salad and my husband opted for the spinach salad). Uniquely prepared comfort food - and delicious. We appreciated that the menu was made of locally sourced foods and listed the nearby farms. We finished with a piece of pecan pie - with a candle in it (on the house) to celebrate my husband's birthday.

Not thrilled but would try again
We don't eat out much. I had the scallops over a very thick bacon that I could not eat. Husband had beef stew. Said it tasted bland and wished he had hot sauce to give it more flavor. Cauliflower soup was best part of meal. Our friends enjoyed their meals. My friend had veggie roll and husband had steak of which they liked. Peach cobbler was awful. Pumpkin parfait delicious. Chocolate eclair with bacon was a pleasant surprise. . I think we ordered too much food. Try one thing. Not Four things.

Service is Superb
I took my mom here for her birthday at her request. As usual the service was excellent and the food was great. We both enjoyed the beef and bacon sliders - which are a favorite. The scallops with jalepeno grits was also excellent as well. The apple dumpling was worth the wait - especially with the complimentary glass of champagne our waiter brought to help celebrate Mom's birthday.

Nice upgrade to Hyatt Reston
My wife and enjoy the used to enjoy the Market Street Bar and Grill for special occasions, so we were keen to try its replacement, Tavern 64. It did not disappoint. The food was imaginative and delicious, and the service excellent.

New and renewed!
Finally got by to try this Hyatt restaurant, and I should have visited much sooner! A review of the menu showed a lot of promise. Locally sourced and not.the usual. The happy hour looks great as well and we will certainly be back to try it. Also want to Chevy out the drink specialties which adds to the usual with their own inventions.

We had a hard time deciding what to order because there were so many good options on the menu. We got the slides appetizer and I got the monkfish and my husband got the pork tenderloin. He said it was the best pork tenderloin he had ever had and my dish was really good as well. Our friends got the steak and she was very specific about how she wanted it cooked and they got it perfectly right.
Highly recommend, it was really good!

Good Value Brunch Menu
The brunch buffet was a good value, especially as compared to some other Northern Virginia restaurants. The staff gave us incorrect information about the buffet when we arrived. They indicated that we could stay through to the lunch buffet; however, the breakfast buffet ended at 11:00 and the food was removed. We probably would have made a final round if we had been properly informed. Overall, we were satisfied with the quality and selection of the food options.

Good But Not Great
The food here was good, but more bland than I would prefer. For example, we had a bacon eclair for dessert and it really needed more bacon flavor. Additionally, the whipped cream was unsweetened. It's a bacon eclair for goodness sake, it can only be so healthy. The atmosphere was very nice, and the service was excellent.
