This was one of the best meals I have ever had Chicago hands down! Every bite was packed with flavor. The restaurant was very cute and the service was outstanding. This is a must try for any foodie in Chicago!

WE had a fun time. The food
WE had a fun time. The food and menu were inventive and creative. We tried several small plates which were delicious with unusual pairings. Our server was helpful and attentive. We will definitely go back.

charming, if not overwhelming
Had a good time at this place, which stands out for its clear, focused perspective on food. I got the distinct impression that this was food made with great care and personal integrity, a fact underlined by the intimate dining space. The flavor palette was very clean and fresh, if not altogether inventive--however, by contrast, their cocktails and dessert definitely stand out. Although I don't know if I'd make repeated trips out of my way to come here, it's definitely worth trying at least once.

Run, don't walk . . .
Going to an Alpine-themed restaurant at the end of May seemed risky, but we're so glad we went. Table Donkey and Stick is terrific. The mellow vibe is perfect. The service was spot on: our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and had a terrific sense of humor--he made our night. And the food? Absolutely delicious from start to finish. The Alpine Burger was to die for, the fondue was right on the money, and the orange marmalade ice cream with chicharrones was superb (so good I was texting friends about it from the table). Well worth a visit!

Table. Donkey and Stick it to 'em
I took considerable grief for booking at a spot with this "assinine" name but all was forgiven when the food and drink arrived. A real taste treat with the right sized servings to enjoy. The duck pate is superb. We also particularly enjoyed the steak tartar and dark chocolate mousse.

Great Austrian/German fare
Really delicious sandwiches and a unique style of cuisine - unlike anything else you could find in Chicago. They have a great beer list as well, and some unique wines to pair with charcuterie, cheese, sandwiches etc. I really enjoyed the sunflower oat bread, which reminded me of some of my favorite breads in Germany, that came with the smoked chicken sandwich. Everything was flavorful, but nothing was too salty or heavy.

An iconic experience
Food solely based on the Alps region. The menu is innovative, complex with depth and variety. All locally sourced foods ensure quality. Talented chefs, very knowledgable staff. Very mellow and relaxing. Menu favorites included - Duck Liver Mousse with Roasted Strawberries, Pork Rillettes, Grilled Port Loin, Whole Trout, Fried Chicken Liver Salad. The cheese offerings are outstanding. Great wine and drink list. The desserts are amazing including Creme Fraiche Ice Cream with Fried Pork Crumbles and Panna Cotta, among others

Everything we had was delicious! The menu is a very interesting concept. Some of our favorites were the whitefish and spring vegetable salad. We sat at the very front of the restaurant, where they had the window/door open so it was like dining al fresco but we were covered from the sudden downpour!

Maybe the best meal ever.
I was floored by the quality of the food. Simply superb.

Had a very nice meal in a family style setting. Met the neighbors eating next to us, which was fun. Good food, good fun, good service!

different but good
The food was interesting. The pork dish was great. The fish dish was great. The chicken sandwich not so great... maybe the fennel? The starter was good, the waiter gave us a great recommendation as we didn't know what to start with.

Foodie food at not so foodie prices
The food here was excellent and the price point was very reasonable. Our server, who I think might have been one of the owners, was super knowledgeable about the wine and the food. We went on a Sunday and the place was only half full, if that. The covered garage-ish seating area has a rolling roof and is open during nicer weather which is pretty cool. Would totally eat here again!

I went here with my boyfriend on Saturday night and really enjoyed it! We sat on the adorable little patio, and I keep describing our waiter as a mild-mannered Zach Galifianakis. Each dish was delicious, especially the salmon appetizer with pretzel crumbles. My boyfriend thought the portions were too small but he says that everywhere we go!

A wonderful dining experience
We sat on the patio around sunset and ordered 3 small plates, an entree, and some cocktails. The frog legs were phenomenal! So was the rabbit. The two of us disagreed over the cured salmon but it was my personal favorite. Our entree was the pork belly - a sizeable portion. Overall the food was perfect. Cocktails were a little strong, we really only needed one each after stopping for a glass of wine prior to dinner. The cocktails were reminiscent of Gilt Bar. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

Amazing food, awesome service. As someone in the service industry I can only say good things about this place. The good was top notch, the server made sure we didn't order too much for our group and we were wonderfully happy. Thanks for making my birthday great!

We had a great experience
We had a great experience at Table, Donkey and Stick. The serving staff was super knowledgeable and clearly excited about the menu. The food was all excellent, especially the wanderteller selection. My dad is a bit of a wine guy and he was impressed by the interesting wine list. Overall a great experience, we will definitely be back.

Great Find in Logan Square
Food was both inventive and delicious. Also had some great cocktails and beer on offer. Wait staff was extremely knowledgeable. Small space means it fills up quickly. Located near intersection of Armitage and California, which some may find locationally challenging. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back again very soon.

Perfect for Foodies
This is a place where you need to be a little adventurous! They have a lot of unique food like chicken livers, beef cheek and duck liver mousse. They all were wonderful - its a perfect place to push the limits in terms of food. The service was fantastic - try to sit in the back room, its farm tables with a fire place and is really fun.

Small menu but if you aren't
Small menu but if you aren't picky and want delicious food -- give it a try. The service was fantastic and the ambiance and décor done to perfection.
