Ezo Roll Missing from Gables Menu
As Gables residents, we have been waiting in anticipation for the SushiSamba opening. It was great but sadly the Ezo Roll is missing from the menu, bar none the best roll they make!. We tried the other rolls but they do not match the Ezo. Happily they were able to make it for us which says a lot about the quality operation! The only other odd thing is they tried to sit our party of two at a long communal table. Who wants to have a nice dinner with 20 strangers? We cannot see that functioning in CG. We may go back but only if they promise to add the roll or continue making it. If not, we will skip the Gables in favor of Lincoln Road.

I came to this restaurant expecting an above average experience, but I tasted the best food ever. Everything tasted so great. From the drinks, entrees, and desserts, I was impressed. I am new to Coral Gables and will definitely come back.

really nice place
i was looking forward to this place opening since december and we were finally happy to dine here. the cucumber martini was great but the wine list is very limited and a place for sake or mixed drinks - we are wine lovers so was disappointed with the champagne and wine selection, we love champagne with asian cuisine and are not sake or liquor drinkers so were disappointed only with the EXTREMELY limited wine offerings. the food was unique and great and the place had a great vibe. SUPER FRIENDLY staff which was nice and a great location. LOVED the miso soup which was unique and the sashami tradito and my boyfriend loved the eel saying it was the best he has had. definitely happy to have this place in coral gables!!!

Good food, terribly noisy & smelly
We loved the creativity and the great combination of ingredients. However the noise were like were were at the middle of the carnival parade at the Sambodromo in Rio de Janeiro. And the kitchen needs a better exhaustion system as well. We left the restaurant with our clothes smelling grease.

Have 1 of everything on the menu!
Don't miss the tuna tataki and sea bass skewers but be sure to save room for desert!

Even better than on Lincoln Road
The food is great. The servers are really well educated on the menu and wine selection. I think the food is better here than at the Lincoln Road location, the crowd is definitely better-not any many tourists or as loud as the Lincoln Rd. location. I would recommend it highly to anyone.

Sushi with hip vibe
My college daughter and I went to Sushi Samba on a Thursday evening. This new Coral Gables restaurant is a welcome addition to the boring and bland restaurant scene that is Coral Gables. The service was over the top. Excellent, professional waiters, well trained and attentive. The sushi rolls were delicious and the Wagyu beef dumplings were the best. Cocktails were delicious, especially the Mojito. The club music in the background and young good looking staff make it a hip and fun ambiance. Will be back!

Great, right in my back yard.
I am very happy to see a new and exciting restaurant open in Coral Gables. Great food and presentation-would highly recommend to those who enjoy good food and fun. Note; service was off the night I was there, particularly at the bar.

I appreciated being told at
I appreciated being told at the start of the evening that portions are meant to be as a "tasting menu" so I was not disappointed but I feel the price is a bit too high.

Fantatic Personal Service!
Sushi Samba could be considered a gem just because of its innovative, delicious food....but its personal, attentive service that sets it apart from the rest. Every detail was taken care and not once, did we have to ask for assistance. Our needs were anticipated and any issues were resolved to our satisfaction....including making our favorite sushi roll from Dromo, the Ezo Roll. They keep making us the roll and we definitely will keep returning!!

Only open for a few weeks
Only open for a few weeks this place has it nailed. The wait staff is incredible. They knew the menu down pat. Tell them how you like your food and it just pours out one course after another and exactly what you hoped for. The sake choices were reasonable and so unique. The small and large portions were superb. Each course was delicious, one of a kind and .... end of story, you have to go here. Great new edition to the Gables and thank you for this new addition.
This is a must visit place and let the wait staff recommend dinner. Our waitress out did herself.
Pricing? Just comfortable and NOT expensive including the special Sake we enjoyed.
One of my favorite places out of the gate!!!!

Coral Gables has stepped it up!
Sushisamba is a hit. I prefer it over the Miami Beach location. The restaurant design is spacious and well laid out. The food absolutely delicious. Drink menu well done with interesting combos. Outdoor seating comfortable. This is my new go to place in Coral Gables. Most of all the service excellent.

Don't miss the EZO Roll
We come to Sushi Samba primarily to taste the delectble, subtling enticing Ezo Roll! And then stay, for the rest...the other great plates, service etc. The only negative is that they keep running out or not keeping the less expensive wine bottles on the menu.

Good food. Kids enjoy dinner. My mom had a wonderful surprise when they brought her a bday dessert and sing with us. Prices are high but so is for special occadions not an everyday place. We did not need to make a reservation it was easy to get a table at 8pm monday.

It's tough to find good Japanese food in South Florida -- most sushi/sashimi is made by chefs who lack the rigorous training that you find in high end restaurants. Matsuri is one exception. Is Sushisamba a Japanese restaurant or a hybrid. Hybrid meaning Japanese with Peruvian and Brazilian influence. Makes sense give the large Japanese population in those countries.
The food: pleasantly good, fresh and well executed. Many dishes are not traditional but not the ridiculous variations you find at most joints. Thoughtful and creative adaptations.
The service: we had a great young lady who lead a great team.
Ambiance: very cool looking interior.
Overall, worth a try.

First time at the restaurant.
Overall experience at the restaurant was nice. Food was delicious but portion-to-price ration is not the best. The check was $320 (including tip) for a party of six. Our server, Mario, was extremely nice but sometimes will disappear on us. The restaurant itself looked awesome and was not that crowded (Thursday night, 9:00pm). It is a nice spot for special occasions.

Improve the service
The food is superb. You need to improve the service, meaning you need to have somebody checking inside and outside what your clients needs. We have to wait to much to get our second course and the bill, and the restaurant was half full.

Exceeded our expectations
Japanese Peruvian Brazilian fusion? AWESOME!!
Some of the best, most interesting flavors and presentation. Helpful, knowledgable service.

Big Improvement Over South Beach
This restaurant is much better then the Sushii Samba on Lincoln Road. The decor is beautiful. The service is great. And the food is terrific. Stand out dishes included the lamb and the quinoa. My only complaint is that it is quite noisy, making it hard to communicate with your dining companions. Perhaps it is quieter outside. But the food is so good that I will be back, despite the noise.
