Was in town at Harrah's for a few nights and decided to try Grand Isle fir dinner. My husband had the catfish and I had the beef brisket...both were great. The wine was also great with our dinners. The wait staff was very friendly and prompt. The only thing that put a damper on the meal was the fact that the doctors' conference was in town and the restaurant was extremely loud. Other than that, we had a very enjoyable dinner.

Great for families
We couldn't ask for a nicer waiter. Really lovely service and thoughtful when our party had an extra party member and a young child.

The marinated crab claws at
The marinated crab claws at $12/1/4 lb. are an excellent choice. 12-14 large, succulent, and flavoful they were the highlight of the meal. The Isle Oyster Sampler was a good choice, too. A dozen baked oysters in 3 styles was more than enogh for 3 people. The one with the touch of jalapeno was my personal favorite. The server had an excellent knowledge of the menu. The service was a little slow. There was a large gap between appetizer and entre. That may have been due to the lateness of the hour (after 10 o'clock) and the kitchen being in close down mode. Over all a superior dining experience.

A good place
Very good place for out-of-town folks to touch and taste local culture and food. Try the alligator.

This restaurant is just fabulous. It is positioned right in the heart of the famous town of Warehouse District. The ambiance is lovely especially having dinner in the evening. It was a wonderful night. The waiters are all very smartly dressed and attentive with a very polite manner. The food was excellent. I have given this restaurant full marks in every category because it thoroughly deserves it.

The food is very good. Charbroiled Oysters were good but I have had way better. The service was slow so as long as you have time to sit around and not be in a rush I would recommend eating at this restaurant.

Good food. Very good service.
We chose GI Restaurant because we were looking for seafood and the restaurant was within walking distance of our location. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good. The service even better. Limited but good selection of wine by the glass. Initially saw it as just a place to eat. Now, we'd definitely return.

We enjoyed the most amazing oysters - smoked and fried (cornmeal batter, not greasy!), served with lettuce and tomatoes - an oyster BLT. We ate at the bar - the staff had great recommendations, the service was fabulous. We typically dine in the French Quarter, but saw this restaurant on the New Orleans channel in our hotel. Highly recommend!!!

Food was exceptional. It was the best meal we had while visiting New Orleans. Highly recommended if you want fresh, quality food without being in the middle of the busy French Quarter atmosphere.

Loved the Grand Oysters and wine selection!! Will be going back for the oysters. And our server was fabulous.

We enjoyed the best shrimp
We enjoyed the best shrimp po-boys again. They are always consistently good! The service was excellent.

My husband said the fried oysters were too salty but I loved the chili butter swordfish. Service was good and nice location, convenient to Riverwalk.

Had the combination of all 3 types of baked oysters, they were awesome, hence why I said the food was outstanding...I love chargrilled oysters, but these 3 types of baked oysters had alot going for them. Also, the shrimp po-boy camanda, or something like that was great!!! It is not fried and has a great sauce and cole slaw on it, I loved it and I really do not even usually eat cole slaw.

We showed up at the restaurant on a busy Saturday evening with reservations for 4 but had picked up a friend at the last minute. Although it was crowded, they made the extra effort to include our extra guest!

Great food and great service.
Great food and great service. This is a very clean restaurant. Worth a try. We have been several times over the last few years and we have never been disappointed. Prices are very reasonable. We always try something different. Raw oysters were great. When you go try the onion rings, cold smoked oysters deep fried were outstanding. One of the best burgers we have ever had.

We had a very enjoyable experience. The waiter Greg was excellent. I chose this place because it was for my sister and brother's birthdays and they both like Grand Isle. For dessert we shared the flourless chocolate cake and pecan pie. The dinners were all great. I had the fried shrimp and it was very light which I prefer.

Went here for dinner with a group of 8. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation and the staff got a table ready for us on the spot so that we wouldn't have to wait. I shared the baked oyster sampler appetizer with my husband and it was delicious. I also had the turtle soup. It was pretty good. I am a huge turtle soup fan and I have had better in New Orleans, but it was not bad. The rest of our party enjoyed their meals (shrimp linguine, shrimp and grits and the catch of the day - swordfish were all ordered) as well, but overwhelmingly, the baked oysters were the favorite. Our server, James was the best. He was extremely attentive, answered all of our questions patiently and never left any of us waiting for anything.

Creamy grits and shrimp
Took a client here for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I had the creamy grits and barbequed shrimp with a cup of gumbo. The food was flavorful and the staff attentive. I would recommend stopping in for lunch.

It was my anniversary weekend, actually we also had our rehearsal dinner there for our wedding a year ago, and we came back for our anniversary weekend. The same night manager who helped us last hear was still there and remembered us. She was awesome!! She came by the table spoke, congratulated us and also took some pictures for us. The waiter was great as well. This place is why we keep coming back to New Orleans. It is overall heads and shoulders above 98% of other restaurants in the city!!! I love this place!!!!

We were very lucky to have weather that allowed us to eat outside. The food was very good and our waitress, while very busy, worked hard to make sure we had what we needed.

Good food - Fast service
We needed a place close to the hotel and within walking distance. Grand Isle was on the list so we went.
Service was short and quick, could have slowed down a bit and made sure we all understood the menu and the specials.
We ordered a sampler of oysters, and it was delivered and no explanation of which one was which. When we were almost done, the waiter finally showed and we asked. When ordering dinner, we all ordered and before we could ask if salads were part of the meal, the waiter was gone. Didnt see him again until the tuna showed, which was excellent by the way.
Dessert was excellent also.
Good food here.

Fresh seafood, healthful food
It was nice not having a heavy meal. Loved the Mahi Mahi baked in a chili butter compound. Surprised that it was served with brussel sprouts and that they complimented the fish perfectly. Nice cocktails and attentive, professional server. Atmosphere was pleasant but nothing special. Would return if there weren't so many other interesting restaurants to try.

This is a top-notch place
This is a top-notch place for cold local beer and oysters (raw and baked three ways) and perfect setting before a home Saints game. The oyster bar is a fun place to settle in and watch the early games before dinner.

Great food !!!
Great food and wait staff !!!! In my eyes the best oysters and clams in the city !!! Great place to eat and either walk to Harahs or fulten st bowling alley for some fun. Also parking is the best. One block and only 3.00

Best Charbroiled oysters ever
We always love the fresh food and charbroiled Grand oysters are to die for. They always have the Saints games on also.

Good but not great
We were hungry and it was close by. Oysters were good but not served on ice and broiled oyster dished were heavy on sauce and cheese and still cold underneath from having been refrigerated before broiling. Shrimp and grits was great and happy hour drinks were half price!
