Colori Kitchen is a local gem that serves some of the best Italian food in LA. After a friend introduced me to their cioppino, I've been spreading the word to out-of-towners and local diners alike. You won't be disappointed!

Cucina Populara Italiana
Colori is a nice little Osteria where paste, pesce, carni, verdure are treated in a very typically Italian manner. The Chef is from the old country and was the former Chef at Ca del Sole in North Hollywood. Colori doesn't have a liquor license so you can BYOB without a corkage fee. So bring your Barolo, Barbaresco, Chianti, Amarone, Nero d'Avola, etc. You may want to bring your own Bordeaux or Burgundy wine glass though, since all they have are clunky French bistro wine glasses, but that is a minor detail for a great down home Italian meal. Buon Appetito!

Great date spot!
You MUST make a reservation or else you'll be stuck waiting for an hour or so, especially for groups of 3 or more. Fun date spot and no corkage fee so feel free to bring a bottle of wine. :)

I loved Colori Kitchen from the moment I first stepped into the restaurant. The atmosphere is so friendly with an energetic vibe! The food is delicious. You can taste the authenticity and homemade feel. I give them four stars for letting you bring your own wine bottle with no corkage fee. The waiters are attentive and very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have delicious Italian food in a very fun-feeling place.

I will be back!
I had the tortilla soup...magical is the only word I can think of to describe it. I was actually sad when my bowl was empty. I also had the sole filet. Again, delicious. I'll be thinking about this meal for days. DAYS. Excellent flavor combinations. The meal evoked emotions. That rarely happens. Thank you for a memorable meal. Excellent! Excellent!

If you're in the mood for
If you're in the mood for fresh, handmade pasta and you're going downtown, this place is an excellent choice. I appreciated that they allowed me to bring my own bottle so I could enjoy my favorite Italian wine with some excellent Italian food.

Colori Kitchen is a solid
Colori Kitchen is a solid Italian restaurant that is a true neighborhood gem. Their food is flavorful, and the people are friendly. Expect to have a down-to-earth, fun time. The best part is that you can BYOB! This place is so accommodating to the diner's needs. Never a disappointment.

I love this place. It's quant, the menu is very unique and everything I have tasted has been completely ideal. But I have to say that my favorite part of dining at this spot is that I can bring my own wine. I know, this is not exactly a new thing the kids are doing, but it being right in my neighborhood as well as not having a corkage fee makes it particularly convenient. And... I am pretty picky about my wine : /

Felt like we were in a small family owned restaurant somewhere in Emilia Romagna. Great choice for casual lunch. Love this place! Mille grazie e buon appetito!

Amazing food and great atmosphere
Try the eggplant Parmesan for starters, and it's virtually impossible to go wrong with the carbonara.

Superb Italian dishes, great svc
Hole in the wall type of place, but the food is bar none. Probably the best italian restaurant in DTLA. Service has always been good. Dim lit restaurant, seats maybe 40-50 people max, a bit on the warm side even though they run the AC and fans, very nice owner. Street metered parking only (watch the signs).

Fantastic Italian food
Tastes fresh and home made - sole, pasta, everything was delicious. No alcohol but a wine bar is next door where you can buy bottles and wine and beer and take to your table - NO CORKING FEE. Awesome.

Awesome Italian food, no corkage!
I always get the ravioli di zucca and bring a bottle of my own wine! Great alternative to Louie Bottega!

Small and tasty
We started with the tasty garbanzo spread and hot crunchy bread.Besides the great intro, the food is excellent and affordable. The restaurant was buzzing for a Fri&the staff was so attentive although they were practically running over each other to keep all us patrons fed and happy. The owners greeted us & kindly sat us in the corner since we had our infant in a stroller. The pumpkin ravioli so appropriate for the season&the mega pork chops was a steal considering the large portions.Despite being in the corner we were never forgotten, the staff was so cohesive that any and all servers helped to serve and present our food.I really enjoyed this place:food tasty, hip environment and comfortable even with an infant, when does that happen, right?

Another excellent dining experience
Signature calamari dish. Tried pork chop special....excellent!

Good neighborhood Italian
An unexpected find tucked into a corner of downtown LA. The hummus-like starter was very good, and the salad was fresh and the lemon dressing had zing. The quality of the main dishes was fine but not great--the meatballs were somewhat ordinary and the Cioppino's clams and mussels were small, overcooked, and overwhelmed by the hearty soup stock.
10/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
my downtown secret.
great food, no corkage, friendly staff. can't ask for more.
10/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
A real DTLA gem. Great as usual
The food is fantastic, as it's always been. Love the BYOB setup with no corkage fee, it's really graceful of them - we just add a few more dollars to the tip. The menu changes just frequently enough to not get boring. We were craving the amazing lamb chops that were no longer on the menu and they were able to make it for us anyway.
10/31/2013 5:00:00 PM
The food was outstanding as always but it all came way too fast. Main course was brought minutes after the first course and we had to ask them to hold it. The place was packed with people waiting for tables and we felt rushed out even though we had made a reservation. Also, the waiter was a tad "judgy" about some of our selections which were all delicious, by the way.

Will definitely be returning.
Will definitely be returning. Is now on our list of places we frequent.

Have the cioppino
WE have been there twice in recent weeks. Bth times it was an argument as to who got to order it as we never the same thing. Both times it was wonderful, five star, and huge portion; two people could really split it Other items were good but not up to the same standard. Restaurant is very loud and warm. Suggest oe does not eat near the open kitchen.
