What a great brunch
It's so tough to find a reasonable and delicious place for brunch in sobe. Tongue and cheek is it. It was delicious. Loved the French toast and the frittata. The creative bloody Mary's and friendly service were icing on the cake. Great!

Great for locals, we will be back.
We went on a Monday night. The service was excellent and the ambiance is really nice, too. No attitude towards patrons here (unlike many other upscale Miami Beach restaurants) which as long time locals, we really appreciate! They offer a nice assortment of fresh cocktails plus a good beer and wine list. Varied menu with lots of locally sourced ingredients. Their burger is a definitely a "hit" as others have reported. One of our main courses was not quite up to par (temperature, not taste) and both the waitress and manager quickly took care of the problem. Will definitely be back to try more dishes on the menu.

Tongue and Cheek South Beach
We loved the warm, friendly atmosphere, the waiters, bar, and especially the creative menu. Our dishes were tasty and pleasing to the eye. We love to try new places and will recommend Tongue & Cheek to our friends.

Father's Day Brunch
Father's Day was a delight at Tongue and Cheek with our friends and their kids. We enjoyed many delicious dishes from Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, French Toast, Cured Salmon to King Crab Benedict in a very cheery and bright setting. We definately look forward to our next visit.

Great American Tapas and More
Ate here with a party of four on Friday night and had a great experience. The small plates were creative and exquisitly prepared with lots of refreshingly unexpected combinations of ingredients. The atmosphere is modern classic but relaxed and not pretentious. Service was attentive and unhurried. The entrees were terrific! A great addition to the rotation for locals; and a wonderful alternative to the tourist traps on Ocean Drive for visitors.

Elegance in every way from the from of the house to the kitchen. Extraordinary service compliments an extraordinary kitchen. Very comparable to Orlando’s Victoria an Albert.

Everything was delicious and
Everything was delicious and fresh and unique - we loved it! It would be nice if you added a vegetarian entree option, although there were enough starters and sides to make up for this omission. Saul was a fantastic waiter - the most passionate foodie I think I've met!

First time in this restaurant.
First time in this restaurant. Read some reviews on open table and yelp. They were mixed but the menu looked interesting so decided to give it a try. I wasn't disappointed at all. Food was pretty different than all the steakhouses and sea food restaurants in South Beach but in a good way. We tried the tomato mozzarella bruschetta, escargot and mussels for appetizer and for main course my wife had the branzino and I had the lamb belly. We enjoyed everything. The service was also outstanding. Our server ( I think her name was Christine) was really nice, helpful with the menu and very professional. We will definitely come back.

Tongue and Cheek
Great dining experience, I was pleasantly surprised. I came here to celebrate my 9 year anniversary and was glad I did. First off, the wait staff was amazing and attentive. We started with escargot and garlic confit. Great dish, the escargot was tender and well seasoned. Then we paired a glass of champagne and "Peaches n' cream",. I had the Lamb belly with octopus and my fiancé had fried chicken with pickled red cabbage for our mains, simply amazing! I recommend this restaurant to anyone that whats to try something new and not overly-priced at the beach
7/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Oysters like I have never had them before - deliciously melting after they popped in my mouth! Super tantalizing.
The staff was super fun and friendly.
Sit at the bar - you won't be disappointed!

Yum and Yum!
Defiantly take advantage of the happy hour; but it's at the bar seats only. We had the beef-cheek sliders (get multiple of these!), gnocchi and spaghetti & meatballs. ALL of it delicious! There's a free glass of Champaign for checking in on Yelp. Of our 4 days in Miami, 2 days in Key West and 1 day in Key Largo; this was our favorite dining experience. Good food, go as a date night or as a group, dressed up or casual; it all works and you don't feel out of place.

Wonderful Sunday Afternoon
What a delightful lunch / brunch. We began with (3) difference flavored doughnuts. Of course the chocolate was the absolute best. The vanilla & berry were a bit too sugary for us. Then onto the Lemon Ricotta pancakes. These I would run back to have a second helping!! Finally a burger cooked well and very favorable. Thanks for a great day. Also with tables outside it is pet friendly!!

Went for Miami Spice and while some restaurants 86 items from the menu and do not offer an alternative, T&C offered a higher priced menu item for the same Miami Spice price. I think that was very well thought out and very customer service oriented. Their portions are sufficient and let you enjoy an appetizer as well as a dessert without feeling over stuffed. The service was excellent with the waiter being very attentive but not too intrusive.. Highly recommend it for the regular menu as well...
8/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
this is what a good restaurant should be - great food, with a personal touch from the chef , with waiters who know their menu and care about the customer. everything we had was outstanding and the service was fantastic!! Would love to come back and very excited to recommend to others!!!!!

Great plates and outstanding desert creations with excellent service.
8/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
i booked this place for dinner for a two day trip to miami after seeing it on the miami spice website. after a quick google, i was sold on it as it was number one on urban spoon and the most blogged about restaurant in miami.
dinner was so delicious, we went back for brunch the next morning.
would definitely recommend.
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Good southern charm. We had brunch on Sunday morning. The menu was great, the service was good and i will definitely be back to try dinner.

I was visiting Florida and found this restaurant online, I was very glad to find it. The food was very good. I got there early and soon after the place was packed.

Loved This Place
We stayed in South Beach for several days and tried many great places. This would definitely be my favorite though. Food was top notch and very creative. Service was excellent as well.

I have zero complaints! The food was spectacular and the drinks definitely define this as one of the best places in Miami! A hidden gem! Absolutely amazing! Will recommend highly to everyone.

Keeps Getting Better
My guests and I had a stellar experience at Tongue & Cheek this past Saturday. Two in our party had dined here before and picked most of the "must have" items which included their Sphered Sparkling Oysters, Butternut Squash soup (amazing texture of cool and hot), Pig Ear lettuce wraps and Shrimp Toast. We ordered these items in addition to their "Spice Menu" which is similar to "Restaurant Week" in NYC and offers three courses for $33 - great deal and apparently their menu changes every week. That said, our charming waitress Clair took care of our selections and did a fantastic job at taking control of our table and coursing all our selections in a timely and complimentary order. The short ribs and braised lamb were the sure standouts!
9/14/2013 5:00:00 PM
Decided to book this restaurant to try the Miami Spice menu. Portions were hearty and food was wonderful. Salmon and short ribs were excellent and banana dessert was divine. Great mixed drinks and nice options for wine by the glass. I will definitely go again.
9/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
I had the Miami Spice menu. The corn custard appetizer was amazing (people with a sweet tooth may like this it more). The rabbit was very good. Banana creme coconut pie was the best dessert on the menu. This place is good for a romantic date, ambiance is nice. I went with a large group of friends and we had a good time. Their champagne is horrible. Service was not what I expected for a restaurant of this caliber.

Tongue & Cheek has creative tapas
I had an excellent cucumber infused specialty cocktail here. Most of the tapas inspired food we ordered was great looking, and tasted good to very good. The only hesitation on my part is that several items were overly sweet such as the otherwise lovely butternut squash soup. Also, the pig's ear lettuce wraps with nuts could've been enhanced with some spicing to countervail the almost cloying sweetness that virtually made this great-looking dish seem more suitable as a dessert. Service the night we were there was friendly and attentive. I wish them well, and hope the chef lightens up on the sugar bowl in his savory dishes.
9/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was our first visit to Tongue & Cheek, and definitely not our last. Valet was a great alternative to the nightmar of Miami Beach parking. We were running a bit behind but the hostess Sasha was very accommodating and humble upon on our arrival. Our server Patty really made our night. She gave some great recommendations, the chicharrones were delicious along with the deviled eggs. Lamb belly was superb and the short ribs melted in your mouth! Our favorite dessert was the custard pistachio cake with dip n dots ice cream! Overall, great experience, amazing food and excellent service. We will be back very soon!

Far Beyond The Expected!
Absolutely enjoyed our visit for dinner last week. The service was impeccable and completely unexpected for a restaurant in Miami Beach - especially at this price point. Our waiter Patty took great care of our group and guided us through the entire menu and even paired some of our dishes with Fall beer selections and cocktails. The mussels, crudo, carbonated oysters and fried chicken were our standout favorites. Looking forward to our next visit!

BEST PART OF OUR TRIP
My husband & I were on vacation to SOBE from CT. We went to Tongue & Cheek for brunch and it was AMAZING! The food was phenomenal and the atmosphere was fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant. I wish we lived closer so I could go every weekend!
10/12/2013 5:00:00 PM
Main courses were great, very loud
We got 2 main courses which were both fantastic. Our cheese plate app was kind of dissapointing, it was just some fruit with 2 pieces of cheese which was ok but not great.
The sangria was very good but it was hard to hear each other despite being 1 of 4 tables sat in the whole restaurant. Needless to say I would come back again though.
10/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
This place is beautiful. The decor is cozy and cool. I went for brunch and would definitely return for dinner and brunch again!
The pumpkin pancakes were delicious and the waitress was very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Good food; Great service.
I started with a walnut Manhattan which was tasty and well-balanced. Anthony really made our night by providing top-notch service while still giving us space to chat. Though the wine list seemed a bit bland, Anthony recommended something that suited us and the food. When it came time for red, he again poured two different options by the glass to see which we preferred. The General Manager introduced himself when delivering a dish and welcomed us to the restaurant, which was an impressive touch. Though the menu seemed a bit erratic thematically, the Carbonated Oysters were perfect and the Braised Lamb Belly delicious. We will definitely be back for happy hour and to enjoy the warm and professional service. Thanks!

Great For Large Groups!
This was my first time at Tongue & Cheek with a large group celebrating a birthday. The experience couldn't have been any better. We had a great table, a great waitress who was knowledgeable and put us at ease and the food just kept coming one dish better than the last! There wasn't anything that we didn't like but there were definitely a few items that exceeded expectations by far like their squash soup - sounds simple but OMG its a party in your mouth! Also their Crudo "Gin & Juice" is a must have and a definite winner on the menu. Again, we didn't go wrong with any dish so go ahead and be adventurous - Octopus Bolognese, Short Rib, Filet, Fried Chicken - it was all great! Look forward to my next visit!

Great epicurean food. Very original meals
As we ar approaching Thanksgiving my wife had a pumpkin martini.

great time amazing food
went with the wife on a Sunday date night.
the way they do the oysters here is amazing. I cant wait to go during happy hour and try a dozen or two with some friends. we tried 6 small to mid size dishes so we can try some different things, everything was great. the service was impeccable and in south beach that is one of the hardest things to find. the waitress was very knowledgeable and her explanations and suggestions were great. don't leave without trying the brussel sprouts, we literally were fighting over it.
cant wait to go back with friends so we can try more things.
11/9/2013 4:00:00 PM
Off the beaten path of Collins in South Beach, this restaurant was a true gem. We had the pumpkin soup & pate for starters & both were so good you didn't want it to end. The Moroccan Ribs for dinner were divine. They just melted in your mouth. The service was wonderful & the manager event came by to visit us & check on our experience a few times. I would go back to this place multiple times if I had stayed in Miami longer. Don't miss the delicious food at this lovely restaurant!

Great Overall Experience!
We had a 7:30 PM reservation on a Saturday evening. The menu comprises a number of interesting choices ranging from snacks to full dinners as well as sides. Everything we tried from the veal carpaccio to the fried chicken entree was delicious. The brussel sprout side dish is "rave worthy." Our service was friendly and efficient. The only complaint was that the room became noisy as the evening progressed, but if this is an issue, my recommendation is that you get there early on.
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
Overall great experience. The food was all very good with just a few execution issues. The "gin and juice" crudo was confusing to eat. Had trouble telling between the Hamachi and the grapefruit pieces. Pumpkin Brulee - Really delicious and pretty rich, not overly bruleeish however. The portion was way to big. Everything else, no complaints! Delicious drink menu. Fried chicken - really moist with a lite crust (better than Yardbird? That is a tall order, but still really good). Moroccan short rib was also very tasty. By far one of my favorites was the cheese puff appetizer!! I could have eaten an entire basket of those :-). The dip and dots dessert was also top notch!
Will be returning!!

Stellar American cuisine
Menu was smart and whimsical, and food was spot on delicious. Started with the deviled eggs, whcih were brilliant, followed by the himachi, whcih was divine. The seared foie gras special with a nutty (walnuts or hazelnuts) crumble and pear compote was mouth watering. The panzanella was a real surprise- well balanced and very refreshing. We split a main, the crispy pok belly with pig ears on a bed of fava bean ragu and polenta. The polenta, was whipped, a little heavier than a foam, and was the perfect pairing to the pork, which was out of this world. The service was excellent. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly, attentive. Hard to explain but the food had a real New York feel to it, in the best sense. Well done.

Tongue and YUM!
Great food and great spot. Away from the sobe crazi-ness. Menu was simple and complex at the same time. Had brunch and the bottomless mimosas for $25. Will return!!!

Kung Pao Pork Cheek was unbelievabl
Kung Pao Pork Cheek was unbelievable and the beef cheek burger is great! Oh yea the carbonated oysters were phenomenal. If you are anywhere near South Beach you have to go.
