Creative drink list that incorporates names of local streets, great beer and wine selection. Baby back ribs fell right off the bone, very juicy. Emlen burger was probably one of the best burgers that I have ever had. The ambience was very trendy, laid back with a very modern feel. The rustic decor is the perfect touch. Brunch also available - had chicken and waffles for the first time ever and was blown away - served with syrup and gravy. Friendly service, awesome suggestions. Great addition to west Mt. Airy!

We visited Goat Hollow for dinner recently and couldn't have been happier with our experience. Not only was the food fantastic but the staff were equally great. They were very knowledgeable and friendly and easily made our group of 5 comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to friends and we'll most definitely be back.

Charming neighborhood restaurant
This is the second time we've been to Goat Hollow. Both times, the staff has been attentive and friendly and the food has been spot on. The mussels are to die for ... great seasoning, good sized mussels, generous portions, enough bread to sop up the delicious sauce, and the frites are perfect. I had the fried chicken which is almost as good as my mom's (that's a huge compliment). The decor is warm rustic industrial. The beer selection is extensive enough to satisfy the beer geeks. The clientele is a nice mix of age and ethnicity ... not overrun by hipsters.

Curtis our waiter was amazing. In detail by memory he was to the point and descriptive in letting us know our menu for the evening. He was attentive and did back flips to make sure our dining experience was awesome. Probably the best waiter ever. Bravo to him.
Brisket was a little dry. Beer choices excelled .
Will definitely return.

Girls night out
We arrived early and sat at the bar while waiting for our table. The bar tender was very helpful and let us try several different beers on tap. We enjoyed the ease of having a drink seated while waiting then were seated. The waitress was very helpful and as we were planning on sharing several items let us know we'd ordered enough. The scallops with risotto cake was amazing so were the mussels. The fish tacos were quite tasty. I wasn't so into the poutine but the fries were delicious! We skipped desert but we all are looking forward to going back and trying some next time. I highly recommend this restaurant for a cool laid back fun place with a really great menu!

My parents actually told me to go here. I went for Brunch/Lunch and was blown away. When I looked at the menu I wanted everything on it so it was difficult to choose a meal. The food was excellent when it came out. The atmosphere was really nice and relaxing. I can not wait to go back again for dinner. This place would even be great to sit at the bar, drink, and get apps.

Our son chose Goat Hollow for his birthday dinner and we were expecting average bar food. We were wrong! The Potine was better than we'd had at Vetri's Ala Spina. We also enjoyed pickled pork belly dumplings, braised veal cheeks, fried chicken, and the fish of the day. Every dish was excellent. They have a satisfying draught beer menu and interesting cocktail menu, although none of us ordered cocktails. Didn't order dessert --- we had birthday cake from Night Kitchen waiting for us at home.

Great local spot!
I went there for the first time the other night and loved it! I can't speak for their whole menu/experience but the burgers were AMAZING! Fries were pretty good too. As well as the mussels. The drink was made wrong since they didn't have one of the ingredients so it was a bit strong with whiskey (good thing I'm a whiskey guy). I ended up gulping it down at the end of my meal. So good & ba that it was a bit strong.
The place is cute, trendy, fun and just right around the corner from me so it's a perfect little place to bring a few friends for a relaxed meal! I would definitely recommend it and I'll definitely be back a lot!

Reopened by different owners, GH is an absolute gem! Food was great and very reasonable, service attentive and personal, ambience friendly. Only negative is very noisy which could be fixed with some ceiling baffling. Will definitely be back for another
Cheese plate appetizer
And who knows which entree. highly recommended.

Unexpected Little Gem
So enjoyed our dinner. Reasonably priced, tons of food and super fun quirky atmosphere. So excited that this cutie is in our neighborhood.

Pleasant and delicious
Very much enjoyed this dining experience. Appreciated the friendly service, good food and reasonable prices. Plan to return.
6/5/2013 4:00:00 PM
My husband and ordered dinner. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich (Carpenter style) it was delicious, but I was disappointed by the fries. The fries came out limp and tepid. My husband ordered the mussels (Goat Hollow Style), and again mussels were delicious, fries were ehhh. Brunch menu looks great, can't wait to go back, will gives fries another chance.

Welcome addition to the 'hood!
Such a charming pub. I brought my 1 yr old and 8 yr old (early) and the staff was very accomodating and kind. Food was amazing, big kids menu and a ton of food for $5. I'm not sure how we did without it!!

Gordon at Goat Hollow
My wife's vegetable soup was over peppered. However, the server substiuted a salad at no charge. Thanks!

Went here for lunch and had a really good time. Great drink selection and good options for most palates. Will definitely be back.

Quaint place with great menu, signature cocktails and lengthy beer selection. Young friendly crowd.

Great neighborhood spot
Outstanding selection and food right out of Diners, Drive-ins...from wings and burgers to great diner selections. Mussels come in mutliple styles including one with about a half-pound of cubed mozzarella in the broth. But unlike Monks, if you don't eat Mussels, the other items are outstanding. Excellent beer selection but they make good drinks too. Staff was very attentive. Extremely noisy. Will go back often.
7/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
fine second act
Goat Hollow was a My. Airy legend. A new one is in the making. Excellent cocktails. I look forward to trying all of them so I'll be back. Here's hoping to many years for the new Goat Hollow.

Brunch on a Sunday
Very friendly staff, the owner always comes out and says hello. A variety of options on the brunch menu and will adapt for diet restrictions. The huevos rancheros were delicious; a little habenero in there to spice it up. Cool bloody mary bar where you make your own and the dilly beans are where it is at! No kids menu for brunch; no need, the berry pancakes were perfect and we took some home. Coffee was okay; I like mine dark with full flavor; my other companions seemed to like theirs. Prices are average+; local food is worth it. We'll come back for sure!
7/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
If you like sausage, pâté and great cheese, try this but only if you can get help! Enough for two or more. Way too big for one

I have been there three times and the service and food where great. Glad I don't have to go into the city for a great meal and good time

Great hidden gem
This was a great experience. We hadn't been to Goat Hollow since it closed and reopened. The decor was really great and cozy. It was a warm, comfortable place to relax. The burger I had was great. Service was excellent. Great for casual dining. For what it's worth, to the owners, there is a court yard, it seems adjacent to your restaurant which might be nice to spruce up for outdoor seating.
Keep up the good work and OpenTable diners...go!
8/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
They always have a great burger waiting or me! Goo to bring a fried or a date. Nice little 2-3 people tables
8/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
Quick, quiet and tasty lunch
Stopped in fro a quick lunch and ended up with spectacular service and a very flavorful french dip sandwich. Fries were hot and crunchy. Steak salad was large. And there is a great selection of draft beers. I'd definitely go back.

I have been to Goat Hollow three times now and it has been WONDEFRUL each and every time! Great beer list great wine selection and the food is AMAZING!! Best BURGER ever.....love them and the muscles are amazing as well. THANK YOU for a wonderful evening, I will be back!

For all of us who loved the original Goat Hollow and mourned everyday of it's passing and subsequent incarnations under other names, sitting Shiva is over....The new Goat Hollow is much improved in the culinary end and a bit more refined in terms of ambiance. Sorry to say the mascot wood carved behind the bar goat head is missing...no doubt done by cretins. The fact is this gem has been restored and long may it reign in what US News and World Report once called, "...the most integrated neighborhood in America...."

Loved Goat Hollow!
We went to Goat Hollow for the first time this weekend, before a concert at the Mann. It was a great location and an easy drive to the venue after dinner. We all had mussels (which come with frites) which were fantastic, and shared a cheese plate which was also great. I am looking forward to returning so that I can sample more of their menu. The beer and wine lists were extensive and their cocktail list looked interesting - we just didn't have long enough to sample them!
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Drinks and appetizers came
Drinks and appetizers came out within an acceptable amount of time. The entrees were very late.
9/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
The ambiance is a little dark, and the AC was pumped to high I was freezing, but the food was DELISH! I would suggest making a reservation for sure, and ask to sit downstairs. Upstairs was extremely loud.
9/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great ambiance since reopening
Great atmosphere and ambiance. We both marveled at how well decorated the inside was. The food is good, not great, but the menu is creative, the portions are big, and the price is very reasonable. They have a huge selection of draft beer, mostly imports and microbrews, and a very nice bar with 2 TVs. We were there on a Friday night and they were showing the Phillies game, but had some cool music playing, not the game sound.
I would recommend Goat Hollow for dinner for 2-6 people. It's not really set up for groups larger than that. It's also nice for happy hour, or just to come in for a couple drinks.

If I Were Being Knit Picky....
If I were being knit picky, I would say that the service could have been a little bit better... The food was really good but I wasn't going to stab my husband's reaching hand for something off of my plate... giggle. There were times when I had to look for my server for condiments that were not on the table... but again that is me being knit picky. I would definitely go there again. We went for brunch and the kids loved the swanky "grown-up" vibe that it had. There was a relaxed atmosphere that I definitely appreciated. I would go there again!

Really Cool Spot!
Not only did this place have outstanding food, but a great array of beers! The service was really friendly!
10/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food, drinks that are better than the common center city offerings and friendly service.
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
Arrived for 6:30 reservation. Good vibe, hostess expressed how happy she was that we reserved a table as they were booked for the evening except at the bar (which looked great too) . Service was good & our waiter Mark was great! He was energetic which matched the atmosphere. It is a good place to enjoy dining with friends. We were celebrating our 9 years since I moved from TX to Philly. We will eat here again!

This was our second visit
This was our second visit to Goat Hollow. The menu is interesting and the food good. It's a comfortable relaxing atmosphere and since it's close to where we live, I'd go back again and again.

Mt Airy Gem
I recently had the pleasure of celebrating with family and friends at Goat Hollow. I must be honest here and say this was not my first dine at Goat Hollow. I truly enjoy the food and the casual atmosphere. I am particularly found of the brunch options on the weekends. At my most recent gathering, I had a fantastic grilled cheese with guyre cheese, Taso ham and tomato. It was perfect with the fresh tomato basil soup. The staff was attentive and accomadting to our needs/requests. Despite be a large party, we never felt rushed. I look forward to going back soon.
10/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was beyond excellent, service polite and prompt without being invasive, and it is a place that is now on our top 5 list!

Always Amazing Food!
This was my fourth time at Goat Hollow and it was once again amazing food. The muscles and the fries are wonderful, great flavor and huge portions. We enjoyed every bit. The burgers here are beyond compare. We ordered one burger and were brought another, one of the several mistakes our server made with our orders, however they was able to bring the toppings we did not receive and add it to the toppings we were given by mistake so it turned out to be a happy mistake as we received double the toppings at no extra charge. Thank you for a wonderful meal, Goat Hollow, we will be back!
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had the delicious cheese plate, fried chicken, and poutine, all of which were delicious! Great beet selection and warm atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back.
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
We were the only ones there.
I took a friend to Goat Hollow for lunch to celebrate his 50th. The place was deserted except for us which made it great. We could listen to the jazz music playing without the distraction of other people's conversation.
10/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
The atmosphere was great and the food was delicous. I got the fried chicken with augratin potatoes. All ia all a great dining experience.
11/6/2013 4:00:00 PM
The renovated Goat Hollow makes it a really cozy place. The food is good and prices are reasonable. It's a fun place for 2 people or a bigger group. I'd recommend it as a go-to neighborhood place.

Did Not Dissappoint
We came from Manayunk/Roxborough to try Goat Hollow out based on reviews and the menu. We are always looking for a place with decent craft beer thanks to my boyfriend Dan who loves a chill spot and a good beer. This place was awesome. We had to wait a bit for a table because the night we were there it seemed our server was handling the entire front of the house, but he was amazing and really did a great job. The atmosphere and decor of the place is very striking- its almost like a rustic lodge. Loved ever minute we were there. The french onion soup was the best I have EVER had!- no lie! We will definitely be back many times!

Everything from Veal to Vegan
I have been to Goat Hollow a few times since it's re-opened and have been happy every time. Have taken friends to catch up over a noisy lunch, celebrated a family birthday and most recently I asked for a quiet table to catch up with some long time friends. I've been cheerfully accommodated every time. Have tried many different dishes and seen many others on the table... there doesn't seem to be a bad choice on the menu. I've watched every dish be devoured on every table I've been at, and we've ordered everything from pork to seafood to tofu. Appetizers wonderful, great selection of beer and mixed drinks, a few nice wines. The staff seem to be very happy to be there and happy to help.

I had never heard of this place before but it was perfect for me. I had to meet a colleague for lunch and he lives in the Mt. Airy area live up Germantown Avenue several miles about 5 miles away. It was a great physical locations at first but they had fantastic beer on tap and great food. It looked new and had a very chic vibe -- very cool. It was a Monday so we were lucky so it was very quiet -- at one point I think we were the only people but even crowded I would not hesitate for a second to go. And being literally in Chestnut Hill all you have to do is head back to Germantown Avenue and you have the best windows shopping around. Artisinal food -- for example my awesome salmon platter was served on a piece os SLATE.
11/24/2013 4:00:00 PM
I loved every minute of it.
From the moment we walked in til the moment we left, I was impressed. The food is out of the world delicious. I recommend the pork belly dumplings, the pork chops and the creme brulee. Now, this was my first visit but I will be back to try other things. I am already excited to return and hope that my experience is just as good. However, we were there for a total of two hours. Which is a long time for a dinner, but we enjoyed ourselves so we didn't even notice until we left. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.
