Yet another good offering
Food quality, distinct flavors, presentation, along with friendly & casual, yet attentive service were superb as usual. Garlic-almond soup was revolutionary.

Excellent housemade charcuterie!
Excellent housemade charcuterie! This restaurant lives up to the hype. I highly recommend it! Service was friendly and attentive. Outstanding value for the money.

Stumptown coffee, awesome!
Stumptown coffee, awesome! The Loren drink was also tart ans bubbly. Quite nice! Amongst the hash, biscuits and gravy, and capicola sandwich, these diners enjoyed the taste but felt the salt could have been reduced considerably in these dishes. The french charcuterie plate was quite tasty as well. No one can do pickled veggies quite like OP! Service seemed laid back/relaxed, so enjoy, and don't be in a hurry!!

Made an online reservation for 6. Arrived on time and was seated within 5 minutes! Entrance was hard to find but, boy howdy was it worth it! Food was spectacular. Eye rolling, lip smacking delicious. We did brunch on a Sat. and it was busy. Tag team servers made sure we were well cared for. And let's talk about their Coffee! Cold brewed heaven in a cup. I had 5 cups. Am not ashamed. Will go back just to indulge in a platter filled with some of the most incredible smoked and cured meats with a huge variety of specialty cheeses. Parking was free and easy- peasy. Not a lot of tables and very close. Not intimate but just a great experience overall. Thanks!

Food was delicious. The charcuterie plate alone was worth the experience

Dined at OP in SE PDX a few nights ago and couldn't have been more impressed and pleased. I wanted to find a restaurant for our guests from LA, and this one had been on our list for a while. Beautiful spring night in Portland, we were seated right on time, and immediately admired the decor; a mix of industrial, kitchen, innovative wine shelves, and the beautiful charcuterie display cabinet.
We all had wonderful meals but the highlights were the mixed olives, the Italian charcuterie plate, and a soup made of almonds, garlic and other ingredients that was served chilled.
All in all, a perfect dining experience. I am looking forward to trying OP in NW PDX next time.

We were a party of 5 and all of us enjoyed the food, ambience and service. The chilled soup was incredible! The italian board was a must and the beef rib was incredible. Great place. We will be back!

My Favorite restaurant
I've been to Olympic Provisions SE many times and it's nice to be able to make reservations for dinner, now. It's stylish, yet casual, and the staff is welcoming. I love the seasonal food and the care given to its preparation and presentation. This time we had- Chicories and radicchio salad. Seared Scallops, french green lentil salad, with sauce laitue. Braised beef short rib, lardons, black olives, and roasted potatoes. For dessert I had pear, fennel sorbet. There are lovely vegetarian options, as well. I had a recent lunch of roasted asparagus, garlic lemon cream, and egg, on a toasted ciabatta. I want to go back and have that again while asparagus is in season!

We had a Chinook Book coupon for a free Charcuterie plate so we decided to make this a date night. From the second we sat down the wait staff was super attentive and very knowledgeable. Every bite was amazing and you could tell they really put their soul into this food. I can't wait to go back and try all the other charcuterie trays!

Don't skip the charcuterie board
We'd had Olympic provisions salami at the farmers market, but we hadn't been to the restaurant. It was excellent, the brisket was perfectly done, the manila clams were delicious, and the charcuterie board had a great variety of flavors. I've heard the dessert is great there, however we were stuffed by the end; will have to come back.

We loved it.
Our first time there. Had a great meal and a lovely time. We sat by the open barn door, and it was pleasant.
We will be back.

Another memorable meal
Another fantastic dinner at Olympic Provisions SE. There were 3 of us and we ordered the steak tartare and chilled shrimp salad to start. I've had the steak tartare before and it is divine. The chilled shrimp salad is new and was so pretty and delicious! Then we had the Catalonian chicories salad with radishes, croutons, garlic grana padano vinaigrette and boquerones. I am crazy about this salad! Then we ordered two large plates to share- the pan roasted halibut with potatoes, capicola, caramelized onions and pistachio pistou, and the seared flat iron steak with lardons, potatoes, olives and a red wine reduction. Everything was outstanding. I need to get the foodspotting app so I can share photos!

Taste Bud Satisfaction
Not being a carnivore I didn't throw my hopes too high. I did however taste a little of everything on the Charcuterie Platter and found all to be full of fantastic flavor. The halibut was far beyond what I ever expected and everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their meal. We would go back in a heart beat!

I'd go again
Visiting Portland for the weekend from San Francisco... found it through Opentable.
Hidden in a area right across the river from downtown Portland. Highly recommend if you are a foodie.
The salumerias were excellent ... cheeses were not special... but good.
Entrees ... good selection as I has the braised rib. Did I say meat!
Cocktails? Very creative and delicious. I like my drinks pure, but risked their version of a Manhattan and was pleased. I think they call it a “mid town”
Wine? Ample choices… ( Glad we took cab)

I love Olympic Provisions SE -- I always leave there feeling as if I've had one of the best meals of my life. The fish entree is always delicious and the small plates are great for sharing.
7/4/2013 4:00:00 PM
My husband and I drove all the way to Portland from San Jose, CA, just to visit this restaurant, and we were not disappointed. The meats were the best you can get outside of Europe (my husband is Italian), and vegetarians wouldn't be disappointed with the selection of cheeses. The fava bean small plate was also delicious. We were stuffed until the day after :)
7/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Foodie Love! 4 of us ate the Italian/Spanish boards, the chevre and cherries "snack," Manila clams (2 orders) three house salads and the chilled shrimp. It was so tasty -new flavors, new combinations. If you are not a red meat eater, they have chicken, halibut entrees, even a vegetarian choice. Our only complaint was the waitress. She explained how the menu worked to me. I thought it was so important, I asked her to repeat it for my party, who had been talking to each other. She got indignant that she was going to have to repeat herself! She was quick to take our drinks and our plates, so that we had to reach for them so she wouldn't take them before we were done. We'd eat at O.P. again, as long as we didn't have her as our waitress.
7/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
I love the food here. But
I love the food here. But I wouldn't recommend the drinks. The martini was very watered down, the wine pours were somewhat stingy, and they don't have beers on tap. As for the service, the food came at an ridiculously fast pace. We hadn't gotten a quarter into our charcuterie plate when the salad and clams were delivered to the table. As the three of us were huddled around a table meant for two, there wasn't much room for the plates. The server returned to whisk away our plates before we had finished, but we instructed her to stop (this happened twice, and we are not slow eaters by any stretch). Managed to finish the small plates just as the entrees appeared. The food is truly delicious, so I would recommend this restaurant for foodies.

Go here...you will not be disappointed. Great small plates and the halibut was to die for!

Celebrating Sunday dinner
We attended the first night of Sunday dinner service at their Southeast location, starting with a celebratory flight of French bubbly. We like to share dishes, for more tastes, and had a Green bean, pickled yellow squash salad with blue cheese and almonds, and the Olive Oil poached Albacore Tuna salad with tomatoes, cucumbers and kalamata olives. Next was the Saffron Risotto Cake on roasted heirloom tomatoes, topped with an egg and oregano. Everything tasted so fresh! The last dish was the Beef Sugo with soft polenta, basil and grana padano. We kept saying, "This is SO good," over and over. Dessert was chilled roasted apricots, meringue, creme anglaise with caramel sauce and salted almonds. An amazing meal. Happy they're open on Sundays!

Perfect for small plates and a nosh
I love Olympic Provisions for the quality of the ingredients and local sourcing. They are most noted for the charcuterie, but don't pass up some of the fun stuff like jasmine rice salad with creamy hunks of avocado or the steak tartare. Go there, you'll enjoy it.

Amazing Eating Experience
Our group of 4 was recommended a couple of the Boards (1 meat, 1 cheese), and then picked a few small plates. This place does a wonderful job with both meats and vegetables, as unattainable as that sounds. We were in raptures about the green beans- who does that?! Also, desserts innovative and delicious too (melon sabayon and chocolate saucisson with a kick). Neighboring table joined in and great atmosphere overall. One note of caution: the street outside becomes a drag strip on Sunday afternoon/ evenings, which was a little annoying.
8/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
The tartare was memorable. Of course the charcuterie was delicious. Definitely would love to go back and try more!
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food is lovingly deconstructed so you taste all the ingredients in the most pleasing and balanced manner. Cheese and Meat board heaven leads to wonderful small plates and perfectly proportion entrees. Tour the menu and don't skip the Rice Salad.... Nirvana! My new favorite place!

A must visit
Great meal with best dessert my wife has ever had. A very unique setting at the south east one.
8/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
the rumors are true!
I've been hearing great things about this place for a while. I've already been enjoying their delicious meats for over a year. I had my sister in from out of town and had been bragging about Portland's amazing eateries, so I hoped it wouldn't disappoint and it didn't! The food was incredible and our server was friendly and attentive. She heard it was my birthday and tried to talk my friends into a birthday dessert while I was away from the table, but we had stuffed ourselves so much, they kindly declined. When she brought the check she had a small jam topped cookie with a candle in it. She said that she just had to bring a little something sweet to mark the occasion. It was so nice! It turned out to be a perfect evening.

Tasty Portland Hospitality
I felt lucky to have a great seat at the bar for dinner here during my visit from Charleston, SC. It made the dining experience even more enjoyable to watch chef Alex Yoder at work, immaculate in his preparation of each dish, and incredibly somber - until he asks "how is your meal?" and hears something like, "this is the best roasted chicken in the history of roasted chicken, best food I've ever put in my mouth!" and cracks a smile. Roasted chicken, summer vegetables - everything I tasted was phenomenal. Next time I'd love to try any of the hand crafted cocktails. This visit I enjoyed a bottle from my day 's wine tasting in Willamette Valley - perfect end to the day. I can't wait to dine here again if (when) I relocate to Portland!

The menu is a little challenging since it features European selections, but the service is terrific, and I liked the restaurant's small size and quiet neighborhood.
9/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had a really fantastic experience at Olympic Provisions SE. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and steered us in the right direction when we asked for wine suggestions to pair with the food. And the food was amazing - we loved every dish, but especially the figs with lemon honey (a really simple dish, but beautifully executed) and the steak tartar. I wish I could go back every night!
9/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
I'll be back for steak tartare...
What a treat I went to sleep and woke up thinking about it! Exceptional service, one of most the most accommodating and pleasant waitresses I’ve had in Portland. Poured the wine lightly, had to order 4 glasses to get a buzz. Overall A.

We had been given a gift card for this restaurant and were so happy to have been introduced to this place full of delicious meats! The service was awesome, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was great! We loved our experience there and will definitely be going back.
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
go there if only for the salami
emphasis is on meats, cured ones in particular, which come very close to their european originals. small but excellent cheese selection. a bit heavy handed with the oil: bread, crostini etc must be soaked in it, apparently. nice choice of wines, though a bit overpriced.
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
cozy but great
We were seated within the first two tables by the door and under the stairs. It was very cozy for 4 people. The place definitely has an industrial vibe to it, but I didn't really see the rest of the place. The starters were fabulous! The mission figs were out of this world! The rest of the food was great too, but I'm still dreaming of the figs. Very unique experience!

Great meal on a quiet Sunday night
We met up with friends and had a very memorable meal. There were 4 of us and we shared all the dishes. We had:
Radicchio, Catalonian chicories, frisse, salad with grana padano vinaigrette
Eggplant Caponata, with basil and chevre
Steak Tartare and egg yolk, with toasted baguette
Octopus Salad, potatoes with creme fraiche, capers and dill
Braised Beef Short Rib with olives and lardons
Ragout of chantarelle, oyster, and cremini mushrooms, caramelized onions and yukon gold potatoes
Everything was outstanding!

Food is never disappointing
The food here is some of the best in the city and the staff is warm and friendly. Be warned however that if you are a party of 3 you will be placed at a 2 top. I think it is a stretch and we were fortunate that they accommodated us when we asked to be placed at a four top. I would ecstatically recommend this place to ANYONE in a party of two or four. If you are an odd number they will downgrade you rather than upgrade you. So it is really up to you if you are okay with very cramped quarters. If you are, then the food is prepared expertly and perfectly balanced. Whatever they serve will be delicious.
10/15/2013 5:00:00 PM
We went as a group of 7 for lunch, and we tried a range of dishes. All of them were exceptionally good, well prepared and seasoned. The hash was one of the best we have ever had. The meat clearly shines in the dishes, but the sides of French toast and toast were also good. Sides seemed to be on the smaller size, but augmented the main dishes well. It's a lively space so a little harder to chat over food, but service was good and attentive and our experience overall was great.

Thank you for the great service and good time. I love the decor mix of wine cellar meets industrial meets modern. The food was fantastic quality with a creative take on flavors and textures. Very yummy!
