Finally got to order the lasagne
Finally got to order the lasagne since I had my daughter to help me eat it! Was well worth it. Our food was very good, wine was superb and our waiter, Roberto was great. We eat at Pranzo's every time we visit Santa Fe. Sunday is half price on bottles of wine which makes it even nicer. Portions are large, but always save room for the ice cream!

We've dined at Pranzo for
We've dined at Pranzo for years and continue to appreciate the excellent food, beautiful presentation and great service. We shared a delicious spinach salad (it could have been a meal in and of itself) and they graciously accommodated my request to leave off the gargonzola cheese (dietary restriction). My husband had a lovely appetizer of carpaccio with plenty of capers. We appreciated the fact that they offer a choice of small portion of their pasta dishes that were the perfect size for us. We'll be back.

A great find in Santa Fe!
We are regular customers at Pranzo and Alto. Their food is very good! We sometimes eat in the bar having only an appetizer and a glass of wine, and other times in the dining rooms of Pranzo and Alto having a full dinner. We recommend this restaurant to friends all the time.

Expensive drinks after happy hour but the food and service is great!

Different but good
As one of the other reviewers, I was surprised to see a new menu.
It is indeed shorter than the previous menu.
I tried one of their new dishes, and I'm glad I did
It was refreshing to see a dish that could be called authentic Italian and not Americanized.
If you want the flavors of Italy, you should go, if not ... go to another pizza place.

A friend and I were looking for excellent Italian and good wine. We found both here. Bread was delicious and the three kinds of oils on the table were very good. We had the linguine with sausage and it was great! Loved the half portion as well. Ordered a Cesar salad with the dressing on the side and it was great as well. And the waitress didnt blink when I ordered it that way. My friend had the spinach salad which just spinach and dressing. Very nice ambiance, good prices. Highly recommended.

New menu is excellent!
Was unsure about going back to Pranzo after the recent change in executive chef and corresponding new menu. Couldn't be happier that we gave it a try - excellent food, service, the whole experience was great! We have liked going to Pranzo for a long time and are very pleased that the recent changes have only enhanced this great restaurant.

Our experience at Pranzo was mostly good. I really liked what I ordered--the spaghettini with shrimp. The half-order is plenty. I thought it was very flavorful although the shrimp were tiny. Our server had a very quiet, timid voice and we had a hard time understanding her. It was also difficult for me to get my water glass re-filled. Other than that, our food came out quickly and with the right amount of time between courses. My biggest issue was with dessert--definitely over-priced. $7.95 for a small piece of tiramisu, which was mostly whipped cream and hardly any lady-fingers. We would come back here, but would not order dessert.

We really loved our dining experience at Pranzo. We had a great table upstairs, the service and food were outstanding and we loved the jazz singer and pianist.

Good food wine & great service
Asparagus starter, beef cheeks and pasta, and a light lemon sorbet dessert, all just right. The wine is always nice. And the service is dependably excellent.

Terrific, except needs remodel
We went to Pranzo for my wife's birthday. We had been there only once before since having moved to SF in 2002, not because of anything else other than too many restaurants to choose from here. Anyhow, the food was wonderful!!! The service was quite good, once it got going - our waiter was slow in taking our initial water/drink order, but after that it was very nice without our having to say anything. Parking is relatively easy in this Sanbusco area of SF, unlike most other spots in SF where the city seems bent on squeezing every quarter possible from tourists and residents alike, and the parking elsewhere is quite challenging.
The only comment we would make is that the interior seems dated and could use a remodel. Still pleasant though.

Good for the Silver Generation
Older more established group with lots of fun table hoping.

I believe we have been going
I believe we have been going to Pronzo's since the late 80's. There have been times when it wasn't that good. But times have changed and the food was wonderful. I had the lamb chops which were wonderful and properly cooked. My wife loved here pasta with chicken, spinach. It is heart warming when we can come to Santa Fe and return to a memorable and delicious dinner. Pranzo you are going in the right direction, keep it up.

I had not been to Pranzo for many years and found it had improved greatly, especially the menu selections. I was very pleased to see tempura squash blossoms as an appetizer. Have enjoyed these in Italy many times but rarely see them offered in the states.
I can highly recommend a visit to Pranza.

Wonderful, As Always
We came in late for an anniversary dinner, spur of the moment, and had a wonderful meal. My pasta, the beef cheeks with "strangle the priest" pasta was extremely tender and delicious, like a slow-braised roast. And a generous portion; I saved half for the next day's lunch. My husband had the linguine with salsiccia, which he kept saying was spectacular. We also took advantage of the Sunday half-priced wine special.

We loved our food!
The restaurant was very busy the evening five of us dined. The waiter brought two baskets of bread which we all ate heartily with the various flavored olive oils. Too bad, that the restaurant ran completely out of bread a little while later. I suppose we didn't need to eat amore bread, but what about diners who came later?

Italian at the Railyard
Great Italian food in NM, Pranzo is the place to go. Appetizers, dinner, and desserts were better than expected. The service was also very good.

I took my husband here to celebrate and had a fantastic time. Our server, though extremely busy, never made us wait and always kept us apprised of times. The food was delicious and the margaritas were tasty. All and all, a win and a fantastic way to celebrate.

Get a Table in the Piano Room!
We had a table on the second floor in the piano room and we very glad we did! David Geist is the pianist and performer and he was tremendous! A virtuoso pianist who can play anything from classical to jazz and broadway musical numbers with equal aplomb. And to top it off, a few of the diners took turns at the microphone singing some of the broadway show tunes. Now that could have turned out to be very bad...but in this case it was amazing!! I don't think it was planned, but several of them were professional vocalists (one from New York) who could actually sing! One of them, a fellow by the name of Todd is a voice teacher and his rendition of several numbers from Les Miserables was worthy of a standing ovation!! What a show!!

new chef since last Visit
Anyway, we were cool on it here, then I've been back 3 times in the last couple weeks. True italian flavor in sauces, and great meatballs. Its a regular stop in my life now

Pleasant dining experience
We were seated upstairs on a quiet week night. Seating was comfortable and uncrowded.
Food was very good, and our server friendly and attentive. Bread was very good, especially
with the flavored olive oils provided. We especially appreciated the small plate and side salad options; these servings
were ample! We've had lunch here several times and always found it pleasant, unrushed, and satisfying.
We'll be back!

We always make a trip to Pranzo's
We always make a trip to Pranzo's when we come to Santa Fe. I try a different dish every time I come. Awesome wine list, good selection of dishes and always save room for the mango sorbet. Our waitress was very efficient and friendly.

Clever riffs on the classics combine with superior ingredients to make Pranzo a trend-setting delight. Always a pleasure.

Ask for Mia
We dined at Pranzo Sunday for dinner because they have all their bottles of wine half-price on Sunday.
We loved the food and the 1997 Chianti. We were also delighted by our server, Mia.
We plan to go back soon.

Great Local Restaurant
We love Pranzo Italian Grill and have been a returning customer for 20 years. Always very good if not outstanding. Prices are very fair for what you get compared to other restaurants in Santa Fe. Try it, you'll love it!

Food was great
We were very happy with the food. It was delicious. The service although pretty professional wasn't great.

No Ginger or fresh honey.
My only negative was that I was fighting a cold and wanted Honey Lemon Ginger Tea. But No Ginger was available and Honey was the package type. Other than that the meal was good.

Excellent Upscale Italian
We each had the ribeye with the truffle fries and the artichoke tomato salad and each had the small Caesar salad. My goodness, what a superb meal. The ribeye was cooked perfectly; the truffle fries were excellent (not overly trufflely!). Their Caesar salad was exactly right. my husband was verrrry impressed with the wine list -- plus the reasonableness of the prices. can't wait to go back and actually have some pasta.

Pranzo's is a nice restaurant that has decent food and service for relatively respectful price.

We first found Pranzo by accident and have loved it for years. It's a favorite spot when we visit Santa Fe, either for lunch or for dinner. Service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. Tables are not crowded together and there are intimate booths available as well. Specials offer great variety as does the standard menu.
