Great selection of desserts
Great selection of desserts and sandwiches. Really liked how they brought out all of the teas on a cart for us to small before making a decision

Hard to find but worth the effort
When you arrive at the Banff Hot Springs, locating the Rundle Lounge for afternoon tea is difficult. Once you have located the place for afternoon tea, the view is absolutely breathtaking. The tea and staff are lovely. The food is very good (only exception was the chocolate cake was too dry for my liking). They were also very accommodating for my 4 year old daughter. I would definitely reccommended this experience to my friends.

Tasty but Pricey
A lovely setting with great views of the mountains. A good selection of teas with explanation from the server. Loved the scones with cream and jam. Would have preferred either a few more sandwiches and a few less desserts or a few desserts that were lighter and less sweet - it was a bit of a sugar overload! Also, the advertised price on the reservations page was $30 so we were dismayed at the bill which listed $42 per person. The water was also extra - it was a nice experience but not worth nearly a hundred dollars for two people.

I took my mother to the Afternoon Tea at the Banff Springs, and it was FANTASTIC. The food was wonderful (delicious baked goods and small sandwiches- perfect with a pot of tea!) and the choice of teas was excellent. Beautiful view, also! Would definitely go again!

Afternoon tea at the Banff Springs
Delicious dainty sandwiches and sweets plus scones with strawberry jam and cream while overlooking the Bow Valley and Rockies mountains. our server was very knowledgeable about the 14 teas we could choose to sample, describing contents, origin and gave us the opportunity of smelling each one before we selected which ones to try.
Very quiet and restful ambience, it was great to actually talk to each other.

Scenic View for a special day
Very delicious treats with about 10 different types of teas to try!
Just note they did not provide Devonshire cream which I have had at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria, but a nice whipping cream.

All About the Experience
I took my in-laws here and we had a wonderful time. Though there's a wide assortment of delicious food, there isn't much of it, so don't come too hungry (especially if you're a health nut).
It's a wonderful place to gather with a spectacular view. We had some great conversation and everyone was very relaxed by the beauty and comfort of the surroundings.
I also saw several (very well-behaved) children milling about, so it appears to be very family friendly.

Couldn't ask for more.
Everything about our experience was positive! We'll recommend to EVERYONE!

We felt very special...
at the 'Afternoon Tea'. We, as well as the other diners, observed a kind of 'semi-formal' dress code. This, coupled to the fact attendance was by reservation only, made us feel like VIPs. The wait staff was professional; the food choices were superb and so appropriate for this high style post-brunch 'snack' and the price was affordable in terms of a 'very special occasion'.

Great view of the mountains. I loved the matcha marteani and the loose leaf tea selection.
I found the desserts too sweet, but the ambiance and service made up for that.

My girlfriend and I had a fabulous time treating ourselves to afternoon tea at the Banff Springs! It was such a beautiful room, not to mention the scenery! The tea and treats were to die for, it was such a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. The service was also impeccable!

The view was awesome!
You should make a reservation or otherwise you will miss this opportunity.

A Bit Disappointing
We reserved this tea because of the Fairmont reputation and the beautiful view. The view was terrific but the tea was not. We never were told about the menu or saw a menu; we saw guests drinking champagne but were never offered some or asked if we even wanted to pay extra for a glass. The desserts were actually excessive and by that I mean we would have appreciated a chocolate dipped strawberry over three more tarts. The jam was great, the tea sandwiches delicious but the meal did not end on the right note. Also we had to ask several times for more hot water, were never offered lemon and just felt that the service was not attentive enough. We always look forward to Afternoon Tea in Canada but would not recommend this experience.

We loved it and would do it again!
We had such a great time together around the beautifully set table. The views were spectacular; the table we got was just in the right place in the corner with views out on two sides. The service was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and we were able to take our time to relax and enjoy it without being rushed. That's how Sunday Afternoon Tea should be. We were very well taken care of!

High Tea Mountain High
We had a beautiful experience at High Tea and will definitely be back. There was a great selection of sandwiches, desserts and teas.

High Tea quest continues in Banff
First off, we are high tea devotees. We've had high tea at the Empress Hotel in Victoria, the Chateau Laurier and Chateau Frontenac. Banff Springs was next on the list. The location was fantastic. Looking out over the Banff golf course, Tunnel Mountain to your left and the river below you. I don't think you'll find better. We booked for the end of the high tea period and it was very quiet with two members of staff on duty. Scones at the beginning of a tea? Different, not good or bad, just different. The staff were friendly but at all our other teas the staff were more attentive, chatting with us, etc...... Perhaps this was due to us being so late in the day for high tea. At the end the staff seemed to be in tidy up mode.

Tea at Banff Springs
Wonderful tea, all the trimmings and such a wonderful view.
A must for anyone in the area who wants a little bit of English tradition in a stately location

Perfect for afternoon tea
I spent only one day in Banff, but afternoon tea at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel was one of the highlights. We had a view of the spectacular Canadian Rockies from the Rundle Lounge. Our server, Lyndsea, did an outstanding job of presenting each tea selection to us: she was knowledgeable and welcoming. The experience provided a welcome respite to the day of touring

Daunting View - Mediocre Service
Insane views if window seating an option and if a corner window you're truly on top of the world. Tea selection excellent but not amazing and fresh preserves, baked scones and clotted whipped cream is excellent. Service above average but not as high quality as it could be. The afternoon tea is actually really poorly served with negligent staff that don't step up to client expectations - likely result of serving masses of tourist for a long time...

Missing some of the finer points...
I recommend afternoon tea at the Banff Springs as a nice way to see the hotel, however the hotel does seem to be coasting a bit on it's reputation and views rather than providing a quality experience.
No major gripes, but a few things add up - despite our reservation they did not have a table set for us and we had to wait while one was prepared. One of the sandwiches still had it's crusts - but the other sandwiches did not. They were quite dry. The cakes were pleasant but not amazing. At 5pm, loud music started playing downstairs which didn't fit the ambience of the location. However, wheeling out the tea trolley and providing a description of the teas was a nice touch - and the view is spectacular.

Generally, we enjoyed the tea, though we were a bit taken aback by the amount of fruit we received in the aperitif. We've had tea before both at the Banff Springs and at Lake Louise and are certain that we received more fruit in the past. Also, some of the strawberries were quite green and the blueberries were not exactly in the first flush of youth. For $41.00 I expect excellence. Otherwise the food was good.

We chose to treat ourselves to afternoon tea at the Banff Fairmont as part of our honeymoon trip and we are so pleased that we did. The service was brilliant and made us feel extra special. The waitress was very attentive and we even learnt some facts about tea. The tea itself was amazing and we will be looking to purchase some as a memory to enjoy once we are back home.
The food was gorgeous and there was more than enough. We felt very spoilt after this treat. The view was also amazing and made the experience extra memorable. Thank you so much for the window seat, it was a delight of a view to look out onto.

A decadent treat!
Afternoon tea at the Banff Springs Rundle Lounge was a truly enjoyable experience. I went with a friend as a birthday treat. You simply cannot beat the view from the large windows overlooking the valley, with the peak of Rundle Mountain sweeping up from the right. The tea selection was large, with something for every taste. The scone with strawberry preserve and devonshire cream did not disappoint either. Then came the three tier serving tray with a very nice selection of sandwiches and sweets. We enjoyed them all, in particular, the individual serving of creme brûlée! The service was very good as well. Our waitress made sure we did not let our tea steep too long and checked in with us a few times to make sure all was well.

The high tea at the Fairmont in Banff was just fantastic. The view was breath taking. The tea service was delicious, a variety of tea's to choose from. Well described by the server. Every bite of the food was an experience in itself. Best time

Amazing Tea Service!
A friend and I recently went to the Banff Springs Hotel for their afternoon tea service. It was absolutely amazing. Such a beautiful view of the mountains paired with the highest quality teas and the most decadent little scones, pastries and tiny sandwiches. It was truly enough to fill us for lunch and everything was so delicious. Great outing for two best friends. Would love to come back and take my mom.

Afternoon Tea at Fairmont
We began my mom's 75th birthday celebrations in the Rundle lounge, and we had afternoon tea. We threw the chef a curve ball as I have an egg allergy and my daughter has a dairy allergy, the food they made for us was AMAZING, best chocolate cake ever. The chef even came out to speak to us and said he was looking forward to the challenge we had given him. We sat by the windows overlooking the Bow Valley and mountains, the view is fantastic. I would recommend this experience to everyone.

This was a birthday treat for my friend and I. We loved eveything. Our server started with an excellent description of the teas. Our server was warm and friendly and never appeared rushed or impatient. It was an elegant, relaxing and delicious dining experience with a spectacular view. I would recommend this to anyone for that special occasion.

We attended the Afternoon Tea and had a wonderful experience. The view was amazing with full size windows framing a beautiful winter scene. The tea selection process was an added bonus. The food was perfect for such an occasion.
