We had a one night mini- vacation at the Bodega Bay Lodge and had dinner and breakfast at the Duck Club Restaurant there. The food was outstanding ( we had halibut and salmon with the cheese plate for dessert), service excellent and the view was incredible.
Anyone who has the chance should definitely go-- make a reservation-- it was crowded even on a Tuesday.

Unwinding After Napa
Had great food with a great view. The dining room is small and quiet, just right for a relaxing yet elegant dinner. The entire staff was friendly and polished. We really enjoyed the salmon and halibut dishes as well as the cheese course with local artisan cheeses.

Cool Down from Wine Country
After several days in Napa, wife and I were looking to slow things down before heading home. The Duck Club capped a great trip. We had an amazing view. The service was friendly yet refined. We started with a cheese plate with local artisan cheeses and some champagne. The Cow Girl cheeses were so good, we may head to their creamery on the wat to SFO. Beet salad was pretty and tasted great. For entres, we had the halibut and salmon. I particularly like the salmon that was served on some broth with some fresh vegetables. The food, service, and view combined made this the best meal of our trip.

Excellent food and service!
We spent two nights at the Bodega Bay Lodge and enjoyed everything about the entire place! The wine reception was wonderful on Friday afternoon and we both got chair massages - a great way to start a relaxing weekend. We had dessert and drinks at the Duck Club on Friday night, then dinner there on Saturday. There's a cozy couch in the bar area next to the fireplace and the bartender made us drinks off the regular menu - very accommodating. The food was excellent - we started with their signature crab cakes that were delicious and the garlic fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. For dinner my husband had salmon and I had a salad and clam chowder - all perfectly wonderful. We will definitely go back when we're in the area.

Great all around
You can order pretty much any dish and it will be outstanding, thoughtfully presented, carefully prepared. Right-sized portions. Ambience is upscale but low-key, not ostentatious. Surrounding setting is serene and natural.
Seating arranged for maximum view of the bay.

Very pleasant room, wonderful
Very pleasant room, wonderful views (even though it was overcast), interesting menu and good service. The Fog chowder was great.

Stellar service and food
The crab cakes, beet salad and braised short rib entree were scrumptious! The meal was topped off with the strawberry rhubarb crisp with the most incredible honey ice cream on top. I will return many times to this restaurant. A man at the next table suddenly dropped down on one knee to propose to his woman (she said yes). Needless to say, this is also a restaurant with a romantic ambiance.

Food was really good but not
Food was really good but not exceptional as it has been in the past.I miss the "Lamb of the Day" from year's ago.Sunset view was stunning.

We have lived in Sonoma County for 50 years and have somehow overlooked this place until a friend recently recommended it. My wife and I dinned there for our 30th wedding anniversary and it was fantastic. The service was top notch without being pretentions and the food was just excellent. We are told that they also serve breakfast daily and plan to try that soon.

A wonderful Anniversary Celebration
We just celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary at the Duck Club. The manager was kind enough to give us a window table, that had a view of Bodega Bay and a wonderful sunset. Besides the coveted table, we enjoyed a fantastic appetizer, 2 mouth watering entrees, and 2 decadent desserts. Service was impeccable, and our celebration was truly memorable. Combine this with an overnight stay at the Bodega Bay Lodge, and there is no better, more romantic, way to celebrate a wedding anniversary!
6/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
If your near Bodega Bay, eat here!
The food and service are both excellent, as is the view! Our server was very knowledgeable about both the food and the local wines, and made excellent recommendations about both.

Finding the Restuarant wasn't easy. There is a sign to turn off highway one, but after that, no more signs and no sign that we could see on the restaurant.
The setting is lovely, looking out over the marshlands of Bodega Bay. They were most accommodating when we asked to be moved, as our table was in front of the entrance to the bar, which had the outside door open, creating quite a wind tunnel.
We each had martini's which were icy.......just the way we like them! Then great breads, roasted beet salad (exceptional) oysters Rockefeller, and a superb bone in grilled pork chop that was wonderfully tender and juicy. We finished with chocolate cake with buttercream frosting and vanilla ice cream. We'll be back!

We couldn't have asked for a better restaurant to celebrate our 8th year wedding anniversary! The food was absolutely amazing, the view breathtaking (views of the ocean and sunset, a bunny, and two dear including a fawn), and the service outstanding! Simply perfect!! Thank you so much to our waitress Kimi for the awesome service and for Chef De Cuisine Brandon Breazeale for cooking us one of the best meals we've ever had. We left stuffed, feeling spoiled, and extremely satisfied. We will be back!!

Again a great experience.
Again a great experience. Looking forward to the next visit.

Outstanding menu. Excellent, gracious service. Fine views. Terrific wine list with many local and regional bottles. Must try one of their single malt tasting flight. Their excellent cheese course was offered as an appetizer--we really like that change. Just loved it.

Excellent Service and Food
This was our honeymoon, so we were hoping for something special, and we couldn't have been more pleased with our dinner at the Duck Club. We started with the crab cakes which were some of the best I've ever had, followed by Clam Chowder and the Butter Leaf Salad which were both excellent, and shared the Asian-style salmon as our entrée, also delicious. We finished with the chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting which was wonderful. Our server Juan was great and the Maitre d' Michael checked on us several times during the dinner to make sure all was well. The sunset over the Bay was spectacular! A really perfect dinner for a special evening!

Small quaint general dining area. Great food. Wine selection very limited. I would recommend this place for a special celebration.

The people , food and atmosphere are special each and every time!
We look forward to our next visit each time!

A nice surprise in Bodega Bay!
This restaurant can compete with the San Francisco food scene! The oysters Rockefeller were tender and delicious! The artichoke and apple soup was fantastic--silky smooth, tangy and well-seasoned. We shared the filet mignon as well as the pan-seared cod--both well-presented and delicious! And the breads...awesome!! We had a window table which had a beautiful view. A very romantic spot. Our service was fine, but the pacing of the meal was slow and lacked the polish to match the rest of the dining experience. However, we enjoyed our dinner here so much that we came back the next morning for breakfast. The chorizo omelet was delicious! Oh yeah...and the $15 corkage is very affordable, and much appreciated!

My husband and I just celebrated our 1 year Wedding Anniversary at the Bodega Bay Lodge this past weekend. We had dinner scheduled here for 8pm. We arrived just on time to find a beautiful, romantic table placed right in front of one of the windows for us. The service was awesome, the food was delicious and the ambiance was perfect. We each ordered a few Oyster Rockefeller’s to start with. They were amazing!!! We also both chose the Filet Mignon for our Entree and they couldn't have been better! We will definitely be returning!

Prices very reasonable for quality

We have eaten there many times and were never disappointed. This time lamb was the special and it was awesome. Jeff's Mom's chocolate cake is killer.

Best dining experience
We were at the Restraunt for dinner on Labor Day weekend. I had ordered the beet salad and coriander pork loin. My husband ordered the flat iron steak. Both meals were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious! We shared the chocolate cake for desert which was another winner. I can't say enough good things about the service, view and food as it exceeded our expectations.
We WILL be back!

Well executed meal
Very good food, excellent service! Menu a little bit limited, but all 4 of our dinners were tasty. Plates hot, a good sign of a well run kitchen.

Fantastic spot...excellent service and food is fabulous

Perfect way to celebrate
My husband and I went here to celebrate our anniversary. We requested a quiet table with a view and we were happily accommodated. The cheese platter was a fantastic start as was the rest of our meal! Will return if we are in the area again.
9/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
Overall wonderful evening
Our fortieth wedding anniversary and they made special effort to give us a view table. Gracious staff provided excellent service. Good wine list and delicious food and best of all quiet ambiance. We will return.

Evening to Die For
Excellent view of the ocean and great sunsets while eating a very memorable meal - Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. The people too, make it special. We will always come back to this very special place.
9/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
We lucked onto this restaurant and the Bodega Bay Lodge from their website (traveling from the east coast) and seem to have found a little piece of paradise. The setting, the service, and the food were all memorable. Counting the days till our return....

Duck Club is Just Duckie
I have dined here before, and was even more impressed the second time. The food was outstanding and the service exceptional. Everyone agreed this was one of the best dining experiences of our 3-week journey -- and we had put our feet under the tables of some of the best. The resort itself is a real gem, too! Very relaxing and away from it all. Incredible views.
9/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
We found the food at the Duck Club to be outstanding. The selections offered, the presentation, and quality of food were as good as you might find anywhere. Of special note was the cheese plate. Besides showcasing the delicious Sonoma County cheeses, they did not skimp on the accompaniments: nuts, fruits, honey. However, my ratings don't reflect this because of the service. From being seated to entree was in excess of an hour. We found this to be true also for breakfast, so it seems to be a kitchen problem, as the servers tried hard to please.
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Good choice of local produce.
Good choice of local produce. Well prepared duck and fish. Local oysters. Featuring Sonoma wines.

Lovely spot to dine
We stayed at the Bodega Bay Lodge for two nights and ate at the Duck Club both nights. We were very pleased with the food. A small menu, but surely something for everyone. The food was not gourment or "foodie" level, but very well done, nice presentation and the service was professional.
The restaurant is white tablecloth and full china service with nice wine glasses. The restaurant is quiet and there were not children present, which was a good thing. A nice adult dinner.
The reeaaallly big treat is the view. It is very reasonably priced and they have an adequate wine list. They do charge to cork your own wine, which many visitors have been to wine country and most high end restaurants allow one bottle to be corked as a courtesy.
10/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
We were staying at the Lodge and after a day of running around Sonoma County it was a welcome experience to dine at the Lodge. The food, wine list, views were all outstanding. Nice full menu and the wine list had several bargains of good wine choices, we settled on the Freeman Winery's Pinot Noir, at a very reasonable price, so we had two bottles
Highly recommend this place to everyone

An AMAZING experience ...
All the way from the "no-filler" fresh Crab Cakes to the "light as a pillow" pan fried Farmstead Riccota Gnocchi to the perfectly seared 2' thick Ahi Tuna and the "just caught" local Salmon, every bite was perfection! A comprehensive wine and cocktail list also included a stellar selection of non-alcoholic beverage choices ... A RARITY . The service was outstanding. The view overlooking beautiful Bodega Bay was stunning. Oh ... and did I forget to mention Jeff's Mom's Chocolate Cake? OMG.
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was absolutely OUTSTANDING. Will definately return.

We'll be BACK!!!
I wanted a special place to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the Duck Club restaurant looked like it fit the bill. It did NOT disappoint! Asked for a quiet table with a view and we were seated by the windows with a fabulous view of the bay. Our server was very attentive, but not hovering. The restaurant slowly filled up as we enjoyed our meal but it was never noisy inside. I had cod and my husband had a flat iron steak. Presentations were very, very nice and the food was delicious! We especially liked the nice "by the glass" wine list, which included some very good local selections. We had a wonderful dining experience and have vowed we WILL BE BACK!!!!

Great food, great views
Had a lovely evening meal, overlooking the stunning scenery.

Very beautiful view of Bodega
Very beautiful view of Bodega Bay. Good food, very friendly and helpful service, but they are very understaffed, so service is quite slow.
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great View, Cozy Fire, Good Food
Enjoyed eating here next to the fireplace. Service and the food was good. Glad they had a nice restaurant at the lodge so we didn't have to find one out on the road in the dark.
10/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had reservations for 730 and weren't seated until 830, the reason for only 3 stars for service. After that the service was excellent as was the food.
10/25/2013 5:00:00 PM
We've eaten at Duck Club three times now. All three meals have been excellent. Duck, two varieties of fish, duck and andouille sausage gumbo, soups and desserts have all been exemplary. Eggs Benedict at breakfast was lovely and the Crab Benedict equally so, with an added little bit of kick in the Hollandaise. Wine list is good, wait staff professional, personable and pretty much everything a wait staff should be. There's a lovely view when it's clear and the sun is out; no view at all at night time.
If I have any problem, it's with the absentee hostess, an issue we've consistently encountered. Also, lovely and relaxing as they've attempted to make the place, it does still read as a hotel dining room-- so bear that in mind.

Special Occasion Destination
We received a Christmas gift certificate from our daughter for one night at the Bodega Bay Inn. We had a similar getaway last year at the Monterey Bay Inn, so we already knew the lodge and restaurant would be great. We shared a fine bottle of wine, and dined on the crab cakes, filet mignon, and the apple crisp. Everything about the dinner was wonderful, and our server was excellent. I would highly recommend this place, but only for a special occasion. ...dinner and one night at the lodge can cost over $500.00!

Special honeymoon dinner
The Duck Club was excellent! From the appetizers to the salad to the entrees - the food was superb. The setting is warm and inviting with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and Bodega Bay. While the service was top notch, I did feel a bit rushed. When dining in such an establishment, it would have been nice to have been able to enjoy the setting and the food at a slower pace. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming!

Loved the short ribs and had a wonderful table by the fireplace on a cold, dark fall night! Our server was attentive and made thoughtful suggestions about wine and food pairings. Overall, would definitely recommend it to anyone in the Bodega Bay area.

Thanksgiving Get Away
Food was great but service seemed not up to the standard you would expect for this type of restaurant.

Close the door
This restaurant is superb when it comes to the quality of food, service and ambience. The only negative is the more casual Drake's is next door and the door is left open. On the evening we were there a couple of less than content (read "screaming") children were there and created a somewhat annoying distraction.

Ducats Club Duck Club
A nice but rather expensive dinner with our relatives at the Duck Club. The secluded entrance and the unusual design, (the lounge is on the far side of the dining room), make for an interesting first impression. There's a real log fire (despite it being spare the air day) in the lobby. Good wine list and we enjoyed the Merry Edwards sauvignon blanc with our dungeness crab appetizer. The menu's halibut was off, so we ordered the sea bass and the cod instead. These were more ordinary dishes than the price point would have suggested, but they were OK. Desserts were really good with a fine cherry and apricot crisp and a creme brûlée that really pleased. Dinner for four was just short of $300, even though we brought one bottle of wine with us.
