Muddy Leek Rocks
Food quality was exceptional- everything is organic and fresh. Interesting dishes with imaginative spices. The artichokes with mint and garlic knocked our socks off. Homemade sodas were to die for. All dishes were simple yet imaginative. The chocolate molten dessert was off the charts. Service staff was really helpful friendly and swift. This place is a gem.

Muddy Leek is very good. Upscale,
Muddy Leek is very good. Upscale, new american cuisine. A solid menu that changes a bit, plus a lot of seasonal specials with the freshest ingredients. Best in show menu items: short ribs, arugula salad, brocollini with sundried tomatoes and shrimp n grits, which is really a creamy luscious polenta. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food you get, but small plates are small.

Delicious brunch with friends.
Delicious brunch with friends. Stand outs were the chicken salad, turkey sandwich and the chocolate caramel tart. Everything was fresh and service was warm and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful addition to the
Wonderful addition to the neighborhood and good destination spot! The potato soup was healthy and phenomenal. The olive fritters tasty and not greasy. Steak and lamb were very homey and flavorful. Aside from the fresh ingredients there is such an interesting variety, we are sure to return and explore further.

This was my second visit in a week! A fabulous neighborhood find! I haven't been disappointed in any of the dishes I've tried. The staff is very friendly and the service has been perfect. Love the chocolate caramel dessert!

Simply great food
Very good food... The garlic soup was superb and unlike other restaurants it is served nice and hot and not tepid warm. We can't wait to go back. Very good all around!

Small plates, starters and
Small plates, starters and cocktails were great.. Entrees were not so great. The shortrub entree was entirely fatty and wrapped in a tasteless pastry. The seabass was overwhelmed with fennel and flavorless ontop of dried beans.
Next time, no entrees. Everything else was great.

Every dish was good, some very good. The dessert was outstanding and service was excellent. Waters were always topped off without me flagging anyone down. I'd like to go back soon to try more dishes and possibly edit my review.

Terrific new restaurant in the hood!!! Innovative and delicious. Great vibe-freindly folks and good service.

Excellent food - creative
Excellent food - creative and very tasty but not too pretentious. We shared flan with mushrooms, duck rillettes, rabbit, short ribs, Moroccan lamb, rhubarb and blueberry cobbler, donuts with custard and strawberry sauce. Also loved the house-cured salmon on shaved fennel that was complementary and truly enjoyed that as well. Can become my next favorite restaurant that we go to when we are in LA. (we live in Orange County.)

You will not be disappointed at this delightful neighborhood restaurant. The food is delicious and consistent. I have eaten there a few times as it is not close to where I live. I find whatever I order is very good. The pastry chef is a miracle! His breads and deserts are consistently delicious.
The service is great, they have made me a fan!

Plates are easy to share. Specialty drink (Waltzing Mathilda) was fabulous! Menu small but varied with daily specials. Very pleasant patio dining.

My wife and I found Muddy Leek to be wonderful. The food was very good, as was the service. It was nice to find a non-pretentious, relatively inexpensive restaurant, with food on this level.

Wanted to be back on the next day!
My wife and I wanted to try this place for a while. Our expectations were super high.. guess what! Was AMAZING!!!
Small plates perfect to share. Such earthy and rich flavors that stick in your mind.. that you want more and more.
The service was perfect! The waitress was super friendly and made our experience even better.
Drinks.. ooo the drinks... I am not huge fan to have drinks with my dinner.. but they were so good that I had two! Try the Italian Mule!
It is well priced. You can feel the quality of the food.
We will be back soon for sure.

Keep it a secret
Muddy Leak is one of those wonderful spots that you want to tell everyone about because it's comfortable, affordable and delicious. But then again, you don't want to tell anyone about it because right now you can still get in the place. Most everything we ordered was delightful. The outside patio is lovely and the service great. Plus they have happy hour during the week. But shhh, don't tell everyone.

Lunch at Muddy Leek
I took a friend to lunch at Muddy Leek to celebrate her birthday--a great dining experience. Lunch menu is creative & varied, suitable for light appetites or hearty dining. We both had the fabulous leek and potato tart, which comes with an excellent arugula salad lightly dressed with a lovely mustard-cream dressing; waiter also recommends the lamb salad, which I'll definitely try next time. Try the unusual sparkling fruit drinks--lime-ginger, lemon-pomegranate etc. Euro-style desserts offer simple, fresh tastes, not overly sweet, with feather-light pastry crusts & a touch of creme fraiche. Patio dining is airy, comfortable & quiet enough for conversation, a rarity in Los Angeles. Service is attentive & friendly. Definitely will return!

We gad a great dinner and a terrific time! Inviting place with wonderful hosts and serving staff. We can't wait to go back. Food was delicious and original, but yet could taste the fabulous ingredients the chef chooses

On a scale of 1 to 10, this restaurant is an 11. Went for late lunch with a friend to celebrate a special occasion. Ate on the patio and it was so relaxing we felt like we were at a spa. Everyting was top-notch, beginning with the custom blended sodas (lime-ginger is outstanding!). We shared the salmon salad with lavender caramel sauce and the potato leek tart with black truffle vinagrette. The food features flavorful sauces and ingredients and each flavor is distinct, perfectly balanced, not competing. The salmon was cooked perfectly - best ever! For dessert we shared the plum upside down cake with creme fraiche - outstanding, lovely tart taste. The service was impeccable!

Yummy meal on the back patio
We enjoyed all of the food. It is presented beautifully and everything we ate was delicious. They make their own bread daily and their own pizza dough. Both excellent. We sat in the back patio at picnic style tables. Service was attentive.

The menu was imaginative, our meal was well prepared, the staff friendly and attentive. The chef took the time to visit with the diners and ask if we had any questions. All in all we had a great experience; wonderful little restaurant that I wish we had something like in our neighborhood. Save room for dessert.

Good food. I heard about the restaurant and made the trek down from the Valley. Well worth the trip.

Fabulous food & cocktails
The cocktails were wonderful. Loved all the attention to detail. Friendly wait staff and the food was great too. An overall delightful experience and we will be back for more!

Mac and Cheese!
Took a client here for lunch the other day and it was empty. I had the fish tacos which were good but the mac and cheese was the standout!

Fantastic farm to table!
Oh man, I'm still reeling from the two cocktails I had - very nice and strong! I'm now a huge fan of The Limey. The food is inventive, like their chicken-fried bacon with tomato chutney appetizer, and my scallops main was awesome!! Will be back!
7/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
The online reviews looked good, so we gave it a try Saturday night. Delightful! It started with wonderful house-baked bread and ended with a great apple pana cotta and everything in between was just right. Now, if only they had a capuccino machine....
7/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
my partner and I loved our experience at muddy leek. the good was wonderful and the wine list was lovely. We had a difficult time choosing what to eat because everything sounds so delicious. the food we ended up with was even better than out sounds on the menu.

I love this place. The food
I love this place. The food is inventive and delicious. The drinks are outstanding and the staff is down to earth and friendly yet professional. The desserts are sopt on. The outdoor dining is comfortable. They have heaters but they also have blankets for those of us who's bottom half also gets cold. Altogether, it is one of my favorite places to eat in LA, but don't everyone go clamoring over there. I still want my table available when I pop by.

Good neighborhood place
Muddy Leek has a cool vibe and excellent food. I would call this place a outstanding innovative neighborhood restaurant with excellent service. The chef and hostess are 1st class. And I hope to frequent the place at some point in the future when I get back up to L.A.

The food was excellent. The chicken fried bacon was a fascinating appetizer and we loved it. The scallops were cooked perfectly. The main entrees i.e. chicken, lamb confit, and beef checks were all prepared very well though the chicken was the true winner of the night. Service was great and would happily return again.

Even though the drive from Brentwood to Culver City was a tangle, partially due to the CC Farmer's Market on Tuesday that
was in full swing, it was worth it to finally arrive at Muddy Leek. Our waiter, Allen, was very helpful in determining what to order.
It all sounded so tasty. The lamb dish, shrimp and polenta were topped off by the peach cake... a real winner. Definitely going

real farm to table
You wonder when you read a comments or a description of a restaurant if this is going to really match your expectations.
Never been so perfect. We looked what was close to where a friend of ours lived and found this Restaurant with a desciption of a food supplied directly by farms, sustainable cooking and intriguing plates.
We really enjoyed all the food adn the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food.
Great work Muddy Leek!! If I lived in the area I would definitely be one of their best Customers.

The kind of relaxed place
The kind of relaxed place with excellent food that we need more of. Great custom bar drinks. Talented and conscientious chef doing innovative and well crafted dishes. Artisanal breads made on the premises. And warm, efficient service. A winner all the way around!
8/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
Not as impressed on our 2nd visit to the Muddy Leek, as we were by our 1st. Patio seating was nice on a hot night, but seems to be lacking a little magic. Cocktails were good, as they should be @$12 a crack, and the GIANT ice cubes, seem to be a little less so~yay! Very good food for the most part...the slider was perfectly delicious, manchego Monte Cristo sandwich app was good, but could have used a more distinctively flavored jam. The special wild salmon w/quinoa dish was delish, while the duck trio was good & unique, but the Meat was a little overcooked & dry. As is the case with many restaurants, the food & drinks especially, are a little overpriced for what you get. If 1/2 or 3/4 stars could be awarded, I'd have give it a 3.75 overall.

The chicken pot pie was wonderful, really delicious. The squash soup was really tasty and rich. It was amazingly good. Everything is organic. The wine pourings were very generous. The quality of the food was top-notch and spabce and the building in which it is located is very architecturally interesting.

Gem of a Joint
Infused ice spheres that melt in speciality cocktails immediately told me this place was going to be great. Seafood tacos of the day with homemade salsa? A surprise gift of chocolate truffles for dessert? Well played, Muddy, well played.

Been wanting to come here for quite some time (after the novelty "reservation chaos" finally wore off), and it just kept slipping my mind until last Friday. I was pleasantly surprised by the ingenuity of the menu, the variety of options and, of course, the quality of the food and flavors. I had an extremely difficult time narrowing down my choices (specials included). I ended up having the scallop soup (unique and delicious, a definite winner), the black radish latke, and finally the potato, spinach and leek tart (yum!). I very much enjoyed dining here. I will be back again, for sure.

Nice spot for a date night
All the food is well prepared and they use good ingredients. It's a little pricey for a "casual" dinner and the portions were modest, but there was good attention to detail for every bit that was on the plate.
Nothing particularly stood out and I don't think it's a good enough value to warrant being a go to spot, but it's definitely a place to go if you want a solid farm to table experience.
