Manhattan Wants To Be Brooklyn...
Better than expected food quality. Brooklyn cuisine in trendy Manhattan. What is this world coming to? Thought the place was going to be mediocre but it was actually very good.

I have now been back three times, and each time it keeps getting better. This place is here to stay!

BEST FRIED CHCIKEN IN NYC!!
Best Fried chicken in the City, HANDS DOWN!! We had a wonderful time. Service was excellent, food was off the charts, and it was a fun environment without being invasive. Top 5 spots in the city...

Amazing service and the food is absolutely delicious. Fun energetic. Highly recommended.

My friends set up my birthday at Willow road. It was a Saturday and there was 8 of us, so we waited for a few minutes at the bar. The host/Manager was really kind and we didnt mind. ( BTW, the men that work at this restaurant are so hot!))
ON to more important highlights.
-Food: Incredible: love everything especially the fired chicken. Only item that wasnt special was the side of Kale. Have seen that done better.
-Service: On it and not to the point it was annoying... Really great server.
-Drinks: Expensive, but so good. They also have a reasonable and well planned wine list which made the prices not so bad as a whole..
-Desserts: The toffee pudding is no joke the best dessert i have had at a restaurant...
Been back twice since

A Repeat Pleasure!
We were very delighted to enjoy another great time at Willow Road. This time we had a party of four and the food and service were excellent given what the restaurant is setting out to achieve, e.g. a fun and lively vibe with very good food. The menu is focused on fewer options that cover a good range of tastes and preferences. You must try the mussels that are served on the table in a fashion similar to "sizzling fajitas"! We scored the food as outstanding, given the value to price reward we experienced. The bar also serves up great cocktails and was busy even when we arrived before 7:00 for our reservations. Don't miss this place (literally) as its entrance door is underneath a "Bar" sign with no indication of Willow Road.

Todd created some really nice
Todd created some really nice new dishes for the spring summer menu. Missed the Lobster dish but the the new skate roulade, acrtic char & their staple now Mussel's ala plancha were fantastic. very delicious.

We were really looking forward to trying Willow Lane and I couldn't have been happier! Of the dishes we tried the mussels, skirt steak, lamb burgers and fried chicken were the stand out stars. I could have lived without the Kale Salad (needed more dressing) and the mac and cheese (this was a bummer I was looking forward to it but it tasted more like Italian bread sticks from a pizza joint that a yummy mac and cheese) . I'm excited to return to try more. Oh and the cocktail menu is fantastic!!!

I was here Saturday night with a few girlfriends for just a catch up sesh and we had made reservations for 9:45. When we got there our table wasn't ready, grant it, it was a super cute trendy and packed considering it was a Saturday night in the meatpacking. Nonetheless, we would have typically been super annoyed with the fact that we had to wait for a table w rezy BUT the hosts, managers, and even bartenders went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of in the interim. They were all beyond nice and hospitable, which is unfounded in the meatpacking generally. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant based on service alone, not to mention the food was DELISH. (Try the fried chicken and mac n cheese) Cocktail of choice: Cool Cumber.

Place is a hot spot. The food
Place is a hot spot. The food could be better. Some dishes are hits, like the fired chicken and the artic char, while some are misses, like basically the side dishes and the grilled steak, which lacked in flavor. Desserts were OK, but not yummy. But service was excellent and the vibe is very good. It's pretty noisy, though.

All the pieces fit together
Six of us, ranging in age from teens to middle age, had a great evening. When I saw the hard floors and the high ceilings, I expected the noise level to be deafening, but it wasn't a problem. And the high-end comfort food was creative and challenging, but still comforting. Even my daughter (a culinary school student) was impressed. The mac and cheese, the fried chicken, and the special soft shell crabs were particularly good. And the lamb chops were good enough to get a couple of non-lamb lovers chomping away at them. But best of all was the service. The server got the vibe of our group right away, suggested the right things at the right times, was attentive but not hovering. This place deserves to be a success.

Our waiter stopped by to take our order and deliver it. We didn't see him again until 45 minutes later. I wanted a second drink and couldn't order it until our check came.

Pickled back shots are to DIE for!!!!! Fried chicken is the best. Kale salad is amazing. Steak for two is DELICIOUS!!!! Mac and chez is of course great. This is a fantastic place to try out. Highly suggest you make a reservation NOW.

Fun, trendy spot
Willow Road is a beautifully decorated venue - eclectic, airy and young. The food is delicious, though I've only been for brunch. Definitely get the braised kale, cast iron skillet baked eggs and charred bean salad. And their seasonal gimlet is to die for. The only downside was their service, as they are obviously still working through some glitches of being a new restaurant. We waited a half hour to be sat past our reservation time and we certainly weren't the only ones. Service was also slow and lacked harmony. I would absolutely recommend Willow Road, just go with a few friends who don't mind waiting!

Willow Road is a gem!
We were in NYC for a weekend trip with two recent high school graduates and took them to Willow Road for dinner Friday night. By far, it was our favorite restaurant this trip. Food/beverages/atmosphere/service were all stellar. We will definitely go back the next time our travels take us to New York and will recommend Willow Road to our friends who are visiting NYC. Go, you won't be disappointed!

Refreshing, Great Food, & Cool
We had a great time! The selection is unique, the sharing of food and a tapas approach of sorts, all made for a wonderful dining experience! The wines by the glass selections were excellent. You gotta check out this place!

First time at Willow Road. The food was delicious. The grilled bean salad was incredible. Loved the staff. A wonderful find.
Willow Road was a cold try off Open Table and a great one at that.
6/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food was excellent. Drinks were good but drink prices for what you got was expensive.

Fantastic Addition to the neighborh
Came here on a Friday Night last week. Such a great additional to the neighborhood. The vibe is energetic but warm.. The food was so tasty and honestly the best Fried Chicken i have had in a while. The drinks, all though pricey, were worth it! This is a new favorite for me..
7/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
I'm def a hater of the meatpacking district, but this restaurant is so far from its neighbors... I used to love the Jon Dory in this space, and Willow is even better. The menu is unique and the drinks great. The atmosphere is homey but very cool at the same time. The service was casual in look, but extremely attentive in profession.
-Fried Chicken: To DIE for!
-Mussels: For ppl that actually love mussels and not just dipping their bread in a butter wine sauce
-Lamb Burgers: So amazing!
This place deserves more credit than i have seen in the food press etc...

Went with friends from work. Enjoyed everything we ordered. Tried the Jar O' Pickled Vegetables, Chunk of Cheddar Cheese to start; main dishes were Arctic Char, Mac N Cheese, and Mushroom Spaetzle. Everything was delicious. Server and staff were very attentive and friendly. Really enjoyed our entire dining experience.

Attn: Fodies in NYC
Loved this place. Everything was delicious from starters to strong old fashioned drinks. Andrew was so helpful in deciding what to order because I wanted to the evetrything. I was so sad when I finished the fried chicken. I wish it never ended...NYC is full of good food but this place is special great and amazing service. Five stars. Dont miss this place!

lovely Chelsea spot
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Wonderful food and terrific service. Very accommodating to all our requests.
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great Space and menu!
Pros: Great menu and food. I LOVED their desserts and apps. The entrees weren't amazing, though. I'm talking about the mussels and red snapper. They were good, not great. The yellowtail crudo app and the lamb sliders were exceptional, as were the desserts, especially the butterscotch/caramel thing. It was insane.
The space is beautiful but the music was way too loud. Great decor. Service was very good. It would be an A+ if not for the B rated entrees. By the way, the fried chicken entree looked utterly amazing! We ordered the wrong thing but wanted to be healthy.
8/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Bring the spaetzle back!
The food was delicious, the service very very good, but the first thing I noticed is that they had changed the menu which is already pretty small. The mushroom spaetzle were recommended everywhere, but it's no longer in the menu :(
8/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
Good food, good ambiance
Enjoyed the starters which provided a wide variety; very nice ambiance; good for a date
8/26/2013 5:00:00 PM
Limited but great
Went on recomendation of a friend. Prices are fair however some items they should really serve you more. Example the potato chips.... Delicious but for $6 you gotta serve more than just a handful. In the end they are chips. Everything was FRESH. Drinks are excellent. I appreciate the limited menu. Wine list is limited as well but well priced especially for NYC. Did not have desert. I will say that the waitress had NO idea what she was talking about. I asked if the snapper was served whole or as a fillet ...she told me she didnt know the diference and that it was a "piece" of snapper. I took that to mean fillet. She was quite friendly and made up for it with attentive service. Overall very very good at decent prices and very good service

Take Willow Road
Amazing ambience and food to match! Loved the salads, fish entree, fluke appetizer, and fried chicken. Waiters and restaurant staff were friendly and charming.

Great, hip new place, but
Great, hip new place, but not unfriendly to the less hip. The portions were perfectly sized. Service was attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant's design was creative and fun. Great cocktail menu.

A hidden gem in plain view
Friendly and engaging service, an excellent Sancerre, and a Black Sea bass cooked whole made for a delightful meal. Menu is limited so check in advance.
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
nice addition near the high line
early friday evening the restaurant was almost empty;service was friendly and fast;the sweet tea and lemon fried chicken was excellent but the portion was small;the summer squash was also very good, limited dessert items so I passed.
9/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Tasty and friendly
My first eating experience at Willow Road was delightful. The staff was pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu and the wine, and also attentive without making you feel they were "rushing" you out the door. The fried chicken was delicious though I do question a $20 price for three pieces of fried chicken -- their rent must be astronomical! Sides were tasty as well.
Because of the price tag, I suggest this restaurant for a special occasion.

Trendy Comfort Food
This place is a nice addition to the neighborhood. It is comfort food with an edgy trend. I had the fried chicken as well as the fries and they were beyond a steak fry, made with Old Bay seasoning, they were great, but too many to finish. Great for a Sunday night as well since they are serving a football menu. Seems to be a welcomed hot spot.
9/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food, friendly staff, relaxed and comfortable

Went after a play at Atlantic Theater. Food for sharing. Very noisy and a really

Enjoyable southern-brit spot
Great fried chicken and steak. Apps were ok, drinks are cute. Service was attentive but a little off the mark in recommending the lamb buns. Very cute place with a great vibe.
10/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
I had brunch at Willow Road on Sunday and it was a delightful surprised. I didn't know much about the place but thought they had a good menu so we gave it a whirl. The atmosphere was amazing, laid back and rustic with a modern twist - for example when we came in there were several mirrors around the restaurant, which were actually televisions. It seems like an ideal place for a large dinner party - I will definitely be planning my next celebration here, can't wait to return!
10/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
Good food in a vibrant/energetic
Good food in a vibrant/energetic atmosphere. Good size portions of small plates, large plates, & sides for sharing.
10/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very Good, But You Pay For It
Very enjoyable brunch with good food. But to get enought to make it to dinner, NOT cheap. Understood it is New York City, but a casual brunch should not set you back too much.... just make a bit and I will come for dinner for the big payoff.
10/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Good spot for brunch
Had a lovely burger here, washed down with a delicious local lager. The staff were great & even let me try 3 different wines before I found the one I fancied! Thank you guys! Would definitely recommend for brunch & lunch as its right next to the Highline & Meat Packing.
10/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Went here for dinner with a couple of girlfriends; WE messed up our open table reservation and had booked for 2 instead of 3 people; oh wah, we had to sit at the bar & have a drink while they sorted us out. All though they were booked they were able to accommodated us in less time than it took the mixologist to whip up our unique and very slurpable cocktails! We had a great time feasting on delicious delicacies while people watching from our window stools looking out onto 10th Ave, dinner & a show! Boiled peanuts are not my thing but my pals gobbled them up with delight! The sweet tea and lemon fried chicken was delicious! I'd go back just for that alone; others enjoyed the crispy pork belly & the fish special of the evening

Most Satisfying Meal in a Long Time
Food was superb, maybe the best fried chicken out there. Everything was delicious from start to finish. Service was outstanding. Ask for Francis!

Can't wait to go back
Though I am not usually into sceney loud places, I would return in a heartbeat to Willow Road for the scrumptious food, attentive service and delicious cocktails. I'm still dreaming about the pork belly entree- best I have ever had anywhere!!!
