Satisfied at Stanley's Steakhouse
Little on the pricey side but the food is really good...charbroiled steaks, salmon cakes, and french onion soup.Service was very attentive and prompt even during busy times.

I was pleasantly suprised
I was pleasantly suprised how good the food was. I have a business in town, so was glad to have a good experience. I can now recommend it without reservation. Service was not quite as good as it should be, but our waitress was very friendly, and accomodating.

Was there with a couple of friends to have a nice night out and enjoy a good meal. Stanley's Steakhouse delivered a great meal with excellent service. Our food was cooked perfectly and was excellent. Loved all the local wines on the wine list. It was also nice that the dining area is divided into multiple sections, it keep the noise at a reasonable level so we could have a conversation while dining yet also still hear the live music coming in from the bar area. Prices are decent for a good steakhouse but fairly high for the area. Overall though we felt it was well worth the price.

Went to Stanley's Steakhouse
Went to Stanley's Steakhouse to celebrate my birthday on 4/12. I enjoyed the New York Steak which was cooked to perfection and my husband had the Filet Mignon - our meals were outstanding. The wait staff were very attentive. I was even given a free dessert for my birthday! Great place to celebrate a special day!

Only 2 tables while we were there..........a new restaurant and a week day.
Locals told us while shopping during the day, that it was very expensive.
We felt a good value, but would only go for a special dinner.

The National Hotel has spent a lot of money refurbishing and have a new executive chef named Dan Moore. He is a very talented and inventive chef and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The prawn cocktail was one of the best I've ever had, the shrimp were huge! We started with a delicious crab and asparagus salad. My wife enjoyed the petite filet mignon while I had the bone in veal chop. Both are highly recommended. Save room for dessert as all the choices looked yummy. The Myers lemon tarte tatin was a real treat. If you're going to the Gold Country this is a great place to have a fine dining experience in an historical setting.

After a long week of work and running around Stanley's was a great refuge from the outside. This was our second trip to Stanley's for dinner. The ambience is friendly & elegant, the staff is friendly helpful and capable.
The food is well displayed and delicious, attention to there customers is of a high degree but not suffocating. All in all a pleasant dinning experience. We will definitely dine at Stanley's Steakhouse again.

Good Birthday Dinner
Loved the quiet of the room and the filet mignon. The ribeye steak and sauteed spinach were very good as was the rhubarb cobbler. Very nicely cooked asparagus. The servings of wine by the glass seemed a bit skimpy. We got a serving of two rolls as soon as we were seated, but were never offered a refill. Coffee after dinner was excellent.

This was a lovely experience. The restaurant was recommended to us and I will recommend Stanley's to others. I will go back again.
Smiles every where. Glad to assit, happy to serve, just happy you were there. One Happy Happy team. Clean, neat and polite everyone.

So glad we decided to check out the renovated historic National Hotel and have dinner here. Our steaks (filet minon and new york) were excellent and the preparations we chose - grilled asparagus & pomme frites for him - perfect. I liked that everything wasn't al la carte and you didn't just get a plate with hunk of meat on it. The duck with crispy bread & blueberry sauce appetizer was fabulous. Lemon tart was bit on the runny side, but had great flavor. Service was excellent and everyone very friendly. The National has nice ambiance & still feels like you are in the hotel of days gone by. I've heard the rooms are great - but since we live close enough by, we'll save that for another day & of course, another dinner!

We took a drive to Jackson specifically to try this restaurant and it was great! The cocktails were good and both the cocktail and wine by the glass were a generous pour. Pork cheek appetizer was excellent...the fresh pea soup was one of the best I've had and the steaks and sides were tasty. The steaks had great flavor!! One of us ordered the Ahi and that was also delicious. In the end we shared a fresh peach crepe with vanilla ice cream and a special candy...so yummy!! We have already told our friends about it and we will definitely be back!

Foothills Gem in Downtown Jackson
There are a lot of places to get a meal in Jackson and the surrounding area, but nothing like Stanley's Steakhouse. We had a great experience and excellent, fresh food. The Filet Mignon and the Rib Eye were cooked perfectly (one medium rare, the other medium well) and the choices of sides were a perfect match. The menu is well thought out and the dining room is comfortable. For locals (Calaveras and Amador counties) you can enjoy a 20% discount off the food if you can provide proof of your address. Makes the whole experience even sweeter!

A Hit in Jackson
The newly remodeled National Hotel reflects a major investment - very strongly complimented by the food from the team at Stanley's!
The meat was perfect - the menu creative - the salads and vegetables garden fresh. Hi fives to the executive chef and pastry chef for a job well done. Wishing them much success and a long run at Stanley's!!

3 out of our party of four had steaks and 1 had fish (white sea bass) and everyone said how fantastic their meal was. Highly recommend!

The service was outstanding. The food was a little pricey but, worth it. I had the smoked pork chop, highly recommend it. We shared three desserts, a perfect celebration location.

This place is outstanding! I loved every aspect of my dining experience while here. I ordered a martini and it was the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is very romantic and definitely a conversation piece as this this hotel was recently remodeled and is historic. The food was over the top excellent and the service was outstanding! I will be going back and am looking forward to it even now.

GREAT RESTAURANT IN JACKSON
Steaks were well prepared and outstanding. If you like Wedge Salad, don't miss the salad at Stanley's. Service was superb. Nice bar, drinks professionally prepared by knowledgeable bartender. Not to be missed. Great for a special occasion. Locals receive a discount if you ask.

Great night out
Splendid evening with out of town friends. The food was excellent. One comment made at the table was "best steak I ever had". Really enjoyed relaxing in the new bar before dinner. Drinks also excellent. Our server did a fine job. She helped make the evening special. We will return.

Rebirth of this place is amazing!
With the new chef and new staff, this is probably one of the best dining spots in Amador County, and would definitely fit in a top ten list for the whole Sacramento region. High quality meats. Delicious heirloom tomatoes and wonderful pastries. Steaks were cooked to perfection for all of us. The bone in veal loin was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Not an ordinary dish at all. The wedge salad was scrumptious. The heirloom tomato caprese appetizer was creative with deep fried fresh mozzarella. Everything was wonderful. The wine list is good. The bar is classic. A great night out in Amador. Next time we'll stay in the hotel and linger at the bar longer after dinner.

First time to the steakhouse. Loved the food. Beautiful presentations and tasted as good as it looked.

Food was very good. SPECIALITY DRINKS WHERE VERY GOOD. And service excellent! Will be going back soon.
9/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
I had a pork chop. Sounds ordinary, but it was not. It had a reduced sauce that used figs as an ingredient. It was tender and very flavorful. It came with a mushroom risotto that had a hint of lemon and warmed arugula was presented on the plate also. Rolls came with the most delicious sweet butter that I have had in a restaurant. The butter tasted as if it had just been made from fresh cream that had been beaten into butter. My husband had a new york steak that was cooked exactly to his order. We did not order dessert but the booth next to ours did. They exclaimed over the trio of creme brulet...one vanilla, one berry and one thyme.........All in all, a gastronomic delight.

Bay Area Quality in the Foothills
This fine dining restaurant could be found in downtown SF. The food was excellent. Fun appetizer options. We enjoyed the Texas Quail Appetizer this time. The sauces are perfect. Salads are wonderful. The best thing is the staff has the friendliness of the foothills charm rather than the snootiness of the city. Now definitely the best restaurant in the Foothills. The reboot of this restaurant with a new staff, new chef and new menu is wonderful. We'll be back again and again. Word needs to get out that this restaurant is entirely new and different from it's initial opening. Folks need to come back and try it now.

A Gem in Jackson
We visit Jackson about twice a year to go wine tasting in Plymouth. After a fun day of wine tasting we are always looking for a great place to have dinner and always strike out. This time we stuck hold! The was outstanding. We had the ribeye steak that was tender and cooked perfectly. If you don't care for steak they also have some other choices,I had the Stergon, again cooked perfectly on a bed of greens. It was one of the best meals I ever had! The presentations on the plate were amazing! The plates not only looked great, they tasted even better! This was outstanding. The dessert menu is fabulous as well. The Chef came by everyone's table to ask about their meal. Impressive, we will be back!

We decided to check out the remodeled National Hotel as an overnight getaway from Sacramento for a birthday celebration. It was a very fun experience.....shopping the Main Street antique stores, enjoying the nicely refurbished room and dining at Stanley's Steak House. We both had steak and while not inexpensive, the meal was excellent and we felt it was money well
Spent. The chef came out and chatted which was an added
Plus. We also shared an great wedge salad, amazing Brussel sprouts and the baked potatoe that came with my Bordelaise sauce. If you go and see pumpkin creme brûlée on the menu....HAVE IT!! It was the star of the evening...so delicious!!

We went for our anniversary, we were not disappointed! Friendly ambiance! The food was fabulous! My steak was just as ordered- charred rare! Good sized portions, well presented, and very tasty! Great wine selection! Highly recommend this place!

Enjoyed Dinner here
A quiet delicious dinner after a day of visiting a few area wineries, was just the ticket. Some issues with the service, but nothing major, maybe just the newness of the waitress. The mussels appetizer was among the best we've ever had, the entrees were above average but not a show stopper ( Duck/scallops) but then again this was a steakhouse.. Old hotel charm made our first visit to Gold Country memorable.
