The team behind cozy eateries 11th St. Café and Bonsignour have opened their biggest venture yet with the West Village’s Bakehouse. Perched a few steps above the West Side Highway, this rustic café features wooden furniture, oversize windows with river views, and an approachable menu of contemporary French fare. In the daylight, linger in the bright dining room over pastries and lattes. When the sun sets, a dimly lit ambiance, comfortable vibe, and flavorful plates reign. The size of the place makes it an ideal choice for large groups, and its proximity to the High Line makes it a great place for lunch (or brunch) before a trip to the park.
