Michael Kang is the owner and Executive Chef of the 5' Restaurant in Laguna Beach. Since 1985 Kang has served Orange County residents the best in non-traditional Chinese-French cuisine, creating masterful dishes that are unconventional to both the palate and the eye. Throughout the years, Kang has masterfully blended the gourmet cuisine of Mediterranean Europe with traditional Chinese fare and the results are often combinations that make diners do a double take. Entrees such as Crispy Jasmine Tea Smoked Prime Filet Mignon with Hoisin Foie Gras Sauce and Soy Cured Toro with Stilton Cheese are just a few examples that can be found on the flamboyant menu.
