  • "What has happened? This used to be a favourite spot of ours for great food and was a must hit when in Palm Springs. Had some good dishes, pork cheeks small plate was a consistent hit with the group, but lack of consistency in other plates. Beet and goat cheese salad, good for 2 of us, mostly arugula for the other. Service was definitely not like we remember. Picked our wine without help even we though tried to flag down someone to ask a question. Got our bottle but had to ask twice for an ice bucket. Took our cutlery and didn't replace. It went on and on. Thanks for the memories, we won't be back!"

  • "Food is good with a tasty offer of small and Lg size plates. The wine choices are wonderful with a price point for everyone. Fun to walk through the cases of wine lining the restaurant floors, making your selection and taking it to the table. Servers seem to turn over to frequently and while they are friendly and well -intended ... it is slow. Having been to the restaurant twice in a week and sitting on the patio both times the service experience was the same....slow. Water/ menu arrives quickly but when everyone sits down at their table at the same time one waiter can't got to each table in a reasonable time. We waited a long time for a drink order and and to have our wine opened. The server worked hard to improve the rest of the evening."

  • "We enjoyed trying this for first time. While they have a notable selection of bottles, which you purchase and bring to your table for opening ($5 corkage fee), the wines were expensive and not familiar labels to us. Dinner was delicious and service good but I'm not sure we will go back next time in town."

  • "Great concept....pick your wine from hundreds of bottles in wine store atmosphere...take it to your table and for $5.00 corkage fee, enjoy it with dinner. The food was great..beet salad with goat cheese and yummy lemon dressing was great...I had maple glazed salmon with Brussels sprouts with bacon. My husband had chicken and "dumplings" (gnocchi ). We shared the chocolate chip bread pudding for dessert. Definitely would return when were back in the area."

  • "We had a great meal here. Picked out our wine from the store and had a5 dollar corkage. Food was very good and the service was excellent."

  • "Really enjoyed the Third Corner. The food tasty and fairly priced. Third Corner lets you select a bottle of wine from their store at retail prices then enjoy it with dinner. Great concept!"

  • "We are fans of 3rd Corner in Encinitas so we tried the Palm Desert location. The space is fancier than Encinitas. Food and wine prices were similiar. Our waiter was a bit disengaged. Steak entree was excellent; salmon entree was a bit sweet. Overall - very good, but we prefer the more casual Encinitas venue."

  • "This is a wonderful spot where you can pick out your wine at a store incorporated into the restaurant and then pay a $5 corkage and open the bottle at your table. The food provides a nice variety of Italian cuisine and everyone of our group of eight was more than pleased with their meal. 3rd Corner is a fun night out."

  • "Third time here and we bought family and friends with us this time. All loved it. Great food, and fun to go shopping for your own bottle of wine, which only has a $5 corkage fee. Thankfully they have blocked the floor to ceiling glass walls with boxes of wine, because last year I walked into one and cracked the face on my watch (the year before we saw someone else walk into it) ,"

  • "Third corner Wine Shop & Bistro has become a favorite We like taking guests there because the food is consistently delicious, and the ambience is "up" without being noisy. The serve staff is very good, and the wine selection is fantastic!"

  • "The dining area is very nicely laid out, with the retail wine space looking more like a high-end wine cellar "backdrop" to the dining area. The menu is a combination of 8 or 10 different kinds of flatbreads (which are really well-done thin-crust pizzas); what seems like 2 dozen different small plates, and a variety of salads, entrees, pastas etc. There are over 2 dozen wines by the glass, most under $10. A person can eat a traditional meal; or nosh their way through the food and beverages. Everything was delicious, and the service was perfect. We would definitely dine here again."

  • "Food was very good. The flatbreads are so good especially the duck one. Choose your own bottle of wine from a large selection for sale at excellent prices. They open the bottle table side. It actually is a wine retailer and restaurant. We enjoyed our evening. The restaurant is noisy so if you want quiet, eat outside on the patio."

  • "Our table of six was on the patio on a lovely evening. There were heaters surrounding us but the weather was perfect and the noise level was excellent (something we always watch for). The concept of buying your wine at cost and then paying a very slight corkage is what makes this place such great value. It is a great idea. I had the mussels and fries - delicious. My husband had the halibut special and was delighted with it. The risotto dish was so generous our guest took some home. The service was attentive and very accommodating. We are definitely going back!"

  • "Glad we found this unexpected surprise. Great wine selection in wine store. Food options and quality very good. Service was attentive."

  • "The service was excellent from first meeting hostess to the server who was very good! The food was nothing special. We had the chicken and dumplings and the chicken was a little dry and the dumpling were pasty. The scallops were cooked well and the sauce was good, the vegetables were over cooked."

  • "We like 3rd Corner because you can walk through their racks of wine and pick one out to drink with your meal. Although the wine selection on the menu is limited, the extensive in-house bottle shop is not. Unfortunately they charge a corkage fee for picking your own wine. The food is dependable. Two of us had the pork chops and both were overdone resulting in them being dry. Outside dining area is small but a cute place to dine."

  • "We return to 3rd Corner every year and have never been disappointed. Fish specials are one of our favorites and this time the halibut was real special. And for sure picking out your own bottle of one of their outstanding wine selections is an added treat."

  • "We enjoyed the food - we ordered the mussels, short ribs, and kale salad. It was all very good, wine good, service very good. I would definitely return and recommend other to it."

  • "We had a most unfortunate experience at the restaurant. Our waiter was inattentive, argumentative and rude. Our drinks were served at different times...in fact we had to ask 3 times for my husband's drink! The food was wonderful. I don't know if we'll go back because of the waiter."

  • "The food is marvelous and wine list is extensive. You can walk through their large selection of wines for sale and have them poured for your meal. Love it!"

  • "Normally it's a fun evening. You pick out your wine, have the marketplace flatbread for an appetizer, dinner and coffee all served up by amazing waitstaff. The waitstaff is still amazing. This time, the food was just okay. Pork chop good as always, salmon over done, scallops swimming in a drippy overly rich sauce was not what we were expecting, and tasteless trout. Not at all what we've come to expect. It was a busy weekend at the end of March... Just before the high season starts to taper off. So perhaps it was an off night. We'll come again. We just won't bring out of town guests next time. Expecting to be wowed, they went away less than impressed."

  • "We've driven by this place many times, finally tried it, with another colupke (4 of us). The food was very nice. The scallop plate was generous with the scallops. Salads were big and delish. Pasta was fresh with a great sauce. Pizza was a nice thin crust (but not too thin) with flavourful toppings and rectangular with 6or8 pieces (can't remember exactly how many but was a generous portion). Service was friendly and cheerful, a few things were missed so that's why 3 stars instead of 4. We'll be back! Overall very good."

  • "Customer get to pick the best wine by walking through the extensive collection. Lots of great choices and staff is helpful if you wish. Do that after selecting your preferred dish. We had a wonderful evening and the food was great. All the staff was enthusiastic. Try the poached dates for dessert."

  • "Our daughter wanted to have dinner their for her and her boyfriends birthdays. The food was excellent. It was a Sunday so it was quiet until about 8 then the place started to fill up. We were somewhat off to ourselves which we enjoyed as we are a happy group, we laugh, we joke, we have a good time and no one seemed to be bothered, so ambience was nice, very desert style. It runs a bit high for a regular visit. But we will remember it the next time friends and family want something different, special and guaranteed a great meal."

  • "We'll definitely be back. Service was perfect - she knew the menu well and her suggestions were excellent (and she hovered just out of view and anticipated what we might need before we had a chance to ask.) Caesar salad dressing was excellent as were the mussels and the chicken special of the day (free-range). We were curious about their in-house lamb bacon on the brussel sprouts and decided to order it - delicious!"

  • "The food was very good - loved the drunkin' fries, and special trout dip. The scallops and pasta were very good, however, the duck was only ok. It was fun selecting the wine and a great idea for good wine at a great price. I noted on Yelp prior to going that the waiters were overworked and we also noted that was the case. Our waiter was on the run all evening, and we had to flag him for service (which he always provided with a smile, admitting that he was too busy). Bottom line - we would definitely go back and recommend this restaurant to our friends."

  • "We always visit this restaurant when we are in Palm Desert. Our visit this year did not live up to our previous visits. The wine list is fantastic. There is enough variety on the menu to keep anyone happy. The service this year was not up to anyone's standard. Slow, forgetful, and then our entree's arrived as we were still eating our salad. But the most annoying part of our evening was the constant banging and clanking and dropping of bottles on the floor in the bar area adjoining the dining section. If you do go, ask for a table well away from the bar."

  • "We've been here several times and the food and ambiance are always great. The corkage is only $5 if you buy your wine there although the wine is a little more expensive that at a store."

  • "Love that they only charge $5 corking fee for any wine you get from their wine shop. They have a great selection of wines and reasonable prices. The food was great and pairs well with the wines. I had the grilled shrimp appetizer which was delicious. My husband had the 4 cheese flatbread which had a delicious crust, cheese and tomatoes."

  • "Delicious meal as usual my husband had the chicken/dumplish dish and I had the lobster ravioli (special). Only odd thing about the restaurant are the booth seating for two. My husband is a bit chunky and it was a tight squeeze into this odd booth. Some of their seating is a mix of booth and chairs and I find that type of set up strange."
