Located just south of Thomas Circle in downtown Washington, DC, proprietor Manuel Iguina takes back to his Latin roots with seasonal urban Latin American cuisine found in large metropolises such as Lima, Ciudad México, San Juan, Buenos Aires and São Paulo. Always focusing on fresh, local products, Mio also features Modern American selections in a convivial atmosphere where customers are treated with genuine affection. Since opening in 2007, a number of great chefs drove Mio towards avant garde, four-star dining, leading to our maturation as a showcase for refined Urban Latin American cuisine. Signature dishes such as Bacalaito Coated Shrimp Salad, Oxtail Mofongo or Mahi Mahi with Chorizo Sauce and Escabeche de Vegetales, represent our open hearted attitude to delivering a fun experience with care and attention to unpretentious refinement. Raised above the restaurant’s dining room, Mio’s private dining spaces can accommodate 65 people for a sit-down function or 80 people for a reception-style event. Our Special Events Coordinator will work with private groups to coordinate menus and ensure all event details are successfully executed for a memorable and productive function. Entertainment: Every Friday from 7:00 p.m. until …. On an ongoing effort to respond to our guests’ requests, Mio will have live performances by the contemporary live musicians, Kike and Miguel! Kike and Miguel provide their listeners with a soothing, passionate, and unique musical experience. These two performers are rare gifts that should not be missed! Kike, originally from Chile, and Miguel from Argentina, began singing at very young age. They toured Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Paraquay & Ecuador. In the 90’s, they came together to form their present duo. We are sure you will enjoy their melodious voices.
