Il Fornaio means 'the Baker'; in Italian. Located in downtown Sacramento, this award-winning restaurant offers an authentic and unique Italian dining experience and a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence wine list.     The menu has a nice selection of appetizers, interesting salads, pizzas, pastas, and entrees. I had the perfectly sautéd shrimp and scallops nestled on a risotto cake with a wonderful sauce. The cocktails were well executed. The service was spot on! As always, a great dinner at Il Fornaio!

    Cocktails are always outstanding and a little different here. Our server Brian was very pleasant and attentive, as was the young bus boy. The Seafood Ravioli and the Lasagna were delicious.

    Our server Whitney was very attentive and provided outstanding service. Also, the busser Sahara was also very good at tending to our needs

    We had the best waitress, Whitney. She was very interested in making our dinner a very pleasant experience. Her attentiveness went above and beyond our expectations. Thank you Whitney and looking forward to seeing you soon.

    Everything about this restaurant is excellent. Their pear salad, lasagna and fresh bread are particularly good. Their service is impeccable. The ambience is superb. It’s a bit pricey, but still well worth the dining experience. If you have never tried Il Fornaio you should, particularly for a special occasion.

    This was by far the BEST lunch I have had in the 11 years that I have lived in Sacramento County. I eat out all of the time at fine restaurants and am no stranger to quality food and service. I give them five stars in EVERY category. If you want top quality food, excellent service and a memorable dining experience, then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them. Every person from the hostest to the server to the restaurant manager treated us with top notch service.
