Reposado RestaurantAuthentic High End Mexican FoodNO bean burritos here. Only the finest ingredients combined in a elegant combination to yield great tasting fine Mexican dining experience. Place is a bit loud, but really fun.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, but noisy.I enjoyed the food very much. The guacamole was very fresh. The roasted corn dish with peppers was unusual and delicious, and the meats were flavorful. Service was good, if a bit impersonal. The big problem I had, though, is that the noise level was so high that it was difficult to hold a conversation at a table for four. This would deter me from returning at the dinner hour. Perhaps it is quieter at lunch? Nice that it's lively, but I guess the very high ceilings and lack of soft surfaces result in a high noise volume that I found distracting and detracted from the dining experience significantly.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this restaurantReposado has first-rate service, excellent, fresh food, and awesome drinks. It is the ideal place for lunch or dinner. The wait staff is knowledge about what goes into each dish so that allergens can be avoided. Everyone who works here is friendly. The ahi salad is delicious, as are the enchiladas.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service wereThe food and service were both very good at this downtown Palo Alto restaurant. While Reposado is a bit expensive and has slightly smaller servings than most Mexican restaurants, each diner in my party enjoyed his/her entree as well as the chips & salsa that we purchased.
I probably would not take my college-aged son here for lunch because he would leave hungry, but Reposado is a pleasant place for a business lunch or meal with a spouse.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food but pretty loud noisWe loved our food at Reposado. Outstanding dishes included the stuffed dates appetizer, hangar steak, pork chop, and the creamy corn with rajas side dish. The noise is a problem, though. What's especially disappointing is that the noise is mostly due to the volume of music broadcast on the loudspeakers in the restaurant. This problem will stop me from bringing people here for business occasions or large groups, because the makes it so difficult to have a conversation.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMservice was ouitstandingGreat wait staff. Our server was outstanding. Thank you.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe vegetarian menu was amazing!Good restaurant to try Mexican food. From Salsa, Gauacamole to molesauce , they use all fresh ingredients and bringsout its pure flavor, nothing unpretentious. I love the ambiance and decor , so vibrant and it goes well with the food. Service is impecable, although it get slow when things gets busy. Overall, good restaurant.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA Fine Meal For a Special OccasionMy son and I had dinner at Reposado last Friday to celebrate his high school graduation. Although the noise level is a bit too high for easy conversation, the food is excellent and the service very attentive and friendly. I would certainly recommend the restaurant to anyone interested in a Mexican dining experience several steps above the usual tex-mex fare.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AM3rd time - food always exceptionalHad the Braised Ribs, Salmon and Lamb - everything was excellent - with just the perfect touches of Mexican elegance.
This is the third dinner there for me in less than 3 months. They have an amazing Tequila selection too. Our waiter was impossible to find throughout the evening. Especially if they can improve on the service - I will go back again and again.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA great first visitMet a friend for lunch here and was impressed. It's a beautiful venue, with full windows looking out onto University avenue. The place is huge but moderately busy for lunch so the noise level was low. Don't know how it would be with a full crowd. The service was excellent and my Caesar salad with chicken was light, bright with a kick. Loved it.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious for any occasionI have eaten at Reposado on Thanksgiving Day and on Memorial day, once with a fixed menu, once from the regular menu. The food is from-scratch fresh and tasty and the portion sizes are perfect (this is not a place that will fill you up on rice and beans). The chicken enchiladas and the seafood quesadilla are flavorful and made to order. The waitress was delightful and attentive without being overbearing.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMYummyThe place looks cool, have top notch servers, and the food is delicious...it's a win. Pretty quite for brunch (sat down at 11:30), but I've been for dinner and its packed.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMDinnerWe brought out of town guests for an early dinner. Our table was not ready, although there were many empty tables. The hostess had to put together two tables after we arrived to make a table large enough for our party. The food was delicious, as had been our previous experience for brunch. This evening, the music was turned up so loud that we could not hear the conversation at our own table. One of our guests eventually asked them to turn it down. The table clean up fellow kept trying to takes our plates and wiping the table with his wet rag before we were finished eatting. Based on the noise level, hostess not being prepared, and the clean up staff pestering us, I would not go back for dinner.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMCool mexicanNice spot, different and a pleasant change to normal mexican...............Thanks, Enjoy5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMNoisy, but very tasty!Great food, great margaritas, great service (especially our server, Chris).
Noise is intentionally intense, which is a detraction.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSolid modern Mexican in a beautifulThis is one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in the Bay Area now that I am vegan. They have a special menu that outlines the 3-4 options you have to choose from. I always get the tacos de la calle, which are to die for. If you get some guacamole and chips (be sure to ask for no cheese) then it is the perfect amount for a filling meal. The guacamole keeps me up at night dreaming about it. The tacos de la calle are to die for. The chilitos rellenos are quite small and spicy. The queso a la parrilla is filling and also carries a good flavor. It can get busy, so make a reservation if you aren't flexible on time. If you are gluten sensitive, make sure you tell them multiple times...5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Guacamole! This place had the best guac I have ever had in my life! I'm bringing my Stanford co-workers in two weeks!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMQrazy for QuesoA friend told us about this place for great, extraordinary Mexican food. Our party of 5 all gave it a thumbs up! The lobster, short ribs, and Caesar salad were( yes, not your typical fare), fabulous! Whatever you choose for your entree, be sure to start with their Queso. It was THE BEST!!!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food in Palo AltoThe food's always good here. They change their menu regularly so you can always try something new. I like that.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMHip and Happening Scene! If you want a lively atmosphere this place is for you. Great for groups. Overall the staff is great except for one hostess.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food, Too LoudWhile the menu, service and food were very good, the only problem I have with Reposado is the loudness.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreatAwesome food, service and ambiance. I will be back.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMDespite the energetic atmosphere,Despite the energetic atmosphere, the food and service were a treat.
The Tapa selections were truy enough food for me including guacamole, chips and an excellent Margarita. The others in the party of four enjoyed special main courses and enjoyed them.
We definitely will eat their again.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGood friends!!Amazing food, service and ambiance. Great for a gathering of friends.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't miss this place! The food was really delicious. The bar is well stocked with some great tequilas and the ambience was fun. Upbeat music, tall ceilings, kinda of an industrial interior but classy. We had lunch during a nice afternoon and since Palo Alto doesn't really have many resturants with outdoor seating, it was nice for Reposado to have all their front windows wide open.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful surprise! FoodA wonderful surprise! Food and service were both outstanding. Can't wait to go back!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecializes in Mexican fishSpecializes in Mexican fish dishes. The guacamole was fantastic, and the entrees were very creative and very good. The margaritas were "strong like bull", and very tasty.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMI would not call it MexicanI would not call it Mexican food but Mexican inspired food. Everything we ordered was delicious and the margarita was authentic.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFood, service ambience allFood, service ambience all great. Noise levels downstairs quite high but it is part of the atmospherre. Upstairs seating appears quieter.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was delicious and theFood was delicious and the drinks were awesome. Excellent service and ambiance.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is always great andThe food is always great and the service was amazing. My only complaint is that the restaurant was noisy. Overall, it was a great experience.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMi like coming to this restauranti like coming to this restaurant either for lunch or late dinner as the noise level can be high with the hard floors and high ceilings...when things are less energetic, it's easier to hear each other's conversations. But really great food starting with the guacomole and chips to the skirt steak and seafood crepas. The upside down banana cake with ice creams was a great topper to a lovely lunch. Service was seamless and very pleasant - our waiter could describe and recommend some wonderful dishes! I've also been upstairs for a private party and the loft area is perfect!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMSit upstairs for a quieterSit upstairs for a quieter experience. You can look out on the hubbub but still carry on a conversation. We sometimes just order a salad and small plates for a varied and good dinner: the street tacos, tamalitos, and the beet salad, for example. But the pork chop entree and the seafood crepes were quite delicious as well. It's pricey and the dinners left our hungry young-adult sons wishing for a bit more, so you might want to start with appetizers, which makes it even more pricey.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI'll be back...I am a Tequila snob. I admit it. When I heard of Reposado I thought it had to have a great selection. Ok, so it was a good selection, but seemed limited to me. Food was good and did easily handle my being vegetarian. Overall, it is a good restaurant, and i will be back. I will give it 4 stars hoping to get the 5th if the increase the tequila selection :-)3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWent to dinner with my brotherWent to dinner with my brother and BF upon arrival the lovely ladies upfront were kind and checked us in. After waiting 5-10 minutes for a table to clear up our reservations for three were met late but nothing too long. The recommendation by the host and the server was Cochinito Pibil for main course and Guacamole as a starter. The chips, salsa and Guacamole were delicious! We ordered margaritas as well the margaritas had a nice kick. The food took a little more than usual but I was excited about my dish so I didn't really care. I got my order my brother got his mike and boyfriend his crepas. Only small complaints were that my brothers chicken in his Mole was really dry and my Cochinito dish had a large amount of fat! Very good overall.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently great food inConsistently great food in a fun, relaxed environment. Perfect for an adults night out, but also for a family event with teenagers. Well worth the higher prices than the average Mexican restaurant, not to mention the signature margarita and tequila list.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was superb, fromThe food was superb, from warm tortilla chips to vegetarian ravioli. The margaritas looked great. Our party of ten was easily accommodated. The service was only slightly unresponsive--we had to wait a while before ordering; the plates were put in front of the wrong people at first. I loved the food, but the lunch crowd, at least, was too noisy--I won't be back again for a while.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AM5 star experienceOpen table team,
First, the service, excellent. #1reason why we will be back.
The food, delicious and well presented. Portions could have been larger, coming from a man's perspective.
The ambiance, fun and energetic.
The decor, nothing special but it worked. My girlfriend liked the high ceiling.
Basically all around a great experience. This could also be because I was with the hottest girl in the place.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWent there for my anniversaryWent there for my anniversary and was SO pleased to find their vegetarian menu. They have multiple amazing vegetarian dishes, some of which are even Vegan. The food was super delicious and the ambiance great. We also had a wonderful waiter! Would definitely go back...3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great service,Great food, great service, the only downside is it is so busy and popular that it is very noisy on the weekends.
All our appetizers and main dishes were excellent, especially the crepas con mariscos and the cochinita pibil. For dessert, the caramel upside down banana cake is amazing, but I would request an extra scoop of the salted caramel ice cream that comes with it!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMQuite simply the best gourmetQuite simply the best gourmet Mexican food I've ever had this side of the border. The selection of Tequilas is incredible and fun. The service was very nice and the bartenders were always very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWork Lunch1st time for whole group....what a great place. We will be back!3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place just knocks itThis place just knocks it out of the park at Brunch . Ilyana or Kevin have helped us often. We come a few times a month typically on a Sunday. Wife gets a Bicyclette (Mark can make you onw too) and I go for Margarita. Love the Ceviche with citrus habanero and bounce through menu. Flavors are wonderful3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Fresh Mexican FoodFirst time at Reposado, and very much enjoyed it. House guacamole was decent, but even better when incorporated with the tomatillo salsa that accompanied it. Blue corn crepes were excellent- very fresh, great flavors, would definitely have these again. Lunch enchilada was also very well made with great flavors. In all, the food seemed very fresh, made of high-quality ingredients. Excellent service, well-timed for a lunch. With another visit or two, if Reposado continues to deliver this high quality food and great service, this could be a 5-star place. Lunch for two without drinks came to about $45. A little pricey, but consistent with the food quality and the Palo Alto neighborhood.1/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
