It was a busy St. Patrick's Day eve; the bar area was buzzing with bagpipers with the restaurant supporting the local fire brigade. I enjoyed the baby back ribs, although they could be served with more barbecue sauce to make them more moist. Service was attentive.

Third time here and the second since the departure of Mr McGrath. We like it much better now. I had the filet mignon with asparagus and mushroom risotto and Hubby had the "short ribs" with root vegetables. We followed up with pecan pie for me and bread pudding for Hubby. Everything was delicious and Andrew was attentive and energetic. Two issues: 1)While the "short ribs" we described in the plural both int he menu as well as by our server, who even specified there were "two" ribs, there was only ONE and it was a partial rib, cut down to a smaller size than we've had anywhere else. and 2)My pecan pie was served in a baking dish and the person serving me that didn't warn me of its high heat and I left the restaurant with burn blisters.

A wonderful find in the plethora of new and upscale Scottsdale dining. The menu is pleasingly eclectic, yet well done and presented. Do not miss the butternut squash raviolis, simply 4 on a plate, but outstanding. The lobster tacos are another must have. We skipped dessert, but will be back soon to try their famous bread pudding.

My first time I went to Renegade's, about a year ago, we REALLY enjoyed it. It was an amazing restaurant and had a fabulous ambiance and really vibrant menu. I had heard it shut down for a bit and when it was time for my gal pal's birthday this February, I wanted to go back and take her out for the night to a nice restaurant and great food. I was shocked when we drove up. Well, sigh..... It definitely was not the ambiance and Renegade's of past. Bikers everywhere, loud raucousness in the dining area to where you couldnt hear your partners at the table, blase food, and I do mean blase! Bummer. We won't be going back. The kicker for us was the hostesses with ripped shirts and no bras. UGH!

This was our first visit since the change of ownership. Many changes to the menu but the food has remained very good. I guess a bit of a disappointment was the waitstaff. Previously the waiters had been casual, friendly and professional. Now they are just casual. The great food deserves a better partnership. We will go back for the food but wish that the service could be upgraded a bit.

My bad ... didn't realize that they had converted the restaurant from an upscale, avant garde home style dining experience to a "bar" like atmosphere with a single page menu with 10 lackluster entrees and 5 sandwiches. The pork chop was deemed "good", the salmon was tasteless, the lobster pasta lacked lobster (especially given the price - $25)and the duck was ok. Not a ringing endorsement. When we arrived at 6:25 for our 6:30 reservation we were told that there would be a wait. There were a dozen empty tables but we were told they were reserved. Yeah, we reserved one. She said other people had reservations too. Someone else from the restaurant intervened and we were seated. In summary ... it's not what it used to be ... won't return.

We went to Renegade on New Year's for dinner before a party. There was a prix frixe menu for the evening plus choices from the bar menu. We opted for the prix frix and both our entrees were very good. The portions were on the smaller size which was great for us. However the chocolate cupcake offered for dessert was dry and almost tasteless. It would have been sent back but, alas, our waiter was inattentive and was rarely seen. There was a band playing, for the evening and they started early. Really wished they hadn't and was glad that we had another place to move on to for the evening because they were not very good.

large space and unusual floor plan. reminds me of a more casual "Sassi" . Done beautifully lots of extra space so that you don't feel crowded. menu had a great diversity and the food was prepared nicely. the only thing I would change on my salmon was if the sauce was drizzled on the fish and not the plate. I think it was meant to eat not decorate! service was spotty. nice enough staff. I think they are not in good sections because they seem to have to run from one side of the restaurant to the other and not be able to attend the tables in a timely manner. It is a large place but can be divided better for staff to be efficient.

I have dined at Renegade at its inception when it was a small-plate venue, under Robert McGrath, when it was a go-to place. Last Saturday, at 7 P.M., of the 50 + tables, about three were occupied. My rack of ribs was fall-off the bone tender and my companion enjoyed the duck breast. It was hard to believe this spacious space did not receive more business.

First time visit. Took some friends and we all enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Went on a Friday evening. Noise level was fine. Especially liked the fact we could have a conversation and actually hear each other talk. Nice for a romantic dinner for two, or group of friends. Outdoor area very nice too. Would definitely go back again.

Went on a Saturday night and had a reservation - sat down on time and service was very good and attentive. The food was fine- i think that the menu was limited somewhat and they had no specials for the evening. Other than that , i would recommend the restaurant.

Both entrees we ordered were not as we hoped. The short ribs had lacked flavor and sauce but meat was tender. Jalapeño grits were bland and not spicy at all. The lobster tacos tasted like calamari and overloaded with cabbage. It should have been cabbage tacos. Little lobster and bland. The pork stew as an appetizer is always a "10". Not going back to restaurant.

This place had really tasty food. I highly recommend the mussels which have buttery white wine sauce with the perfect amount of jalapeño spicieness. The pork stew was also nice...tender and flavorful. For the entrees the crispy salmon was delightful. I also highly enjoyed the short ribs which were really tender, slightly smokey and sweet. The fish tacos were very good and tasted fresh. Another nice dish was the lobster pasta entree which light creamy sauce. Service was good, although 1 of the servers had a slight attitude. Ambience was nice and we were able to watch the Sunday night football game. They also a decent craft beer list.
