There are more expensive fine dining restaurants in town - but they don't even compare with the Bistro. They have a very diverse menu with something for everyone. They're varieties of oysters are delicious and very well presented. The Tuna Tartar is so good it's unbelieveable. You might think that you'd find better at a sushi restaurant, but you won't. The staff is very attentive a friendly. And the interior is modern and inviting. This restaurant is truly a prince among paupers in the Jackson area. I was very pleased however to find this restaurant. We were only a few minutes delayed in being seated for our 7:30pm reservation on a Thursday night. Grilled Caesar salad was good, interesting twist on a standard. However it was a bit over priced for what it is really. A wedge or Romaine lettuce flipped quickly on a grill garnished with the usual toppings. The main course of halibut I had however was outstanding. The grilled corn salsa with some spicy peppers and a few clams was amazing. It was borderline as to being out done by the chocolate caramel torte and "Bistro sundae" that was lightly shared between us. The menu selections are creative and the food is quite wonderful. During the next two weeks their 2 for 1 entree specials will help keep the cost down for everyone while contributing to local charities. The nightly specials are taste treats and the overall quality rates four and a half stars. They are a bit pricey, but not out of range compared to other restaurants in the area. Service is VERY attentive but unobtrusive. Great wine selections and a few local brews on tap, too! Don't hesitate to go. The bistro is tucked away on the right side of the main road into town, right after the Sinclair gas station. Look for the Hampton Inn sign marking the location. Although not near Jackson town square, it's surely a local favorite which was evidenced by the line of 'em waiting for the doors to open for the evening. We arrived early and were seated immediately, though did have reservations just in case. We very much enjoyed the Bistro atmosphere, the great light, large wine list, fun specialty drinks, and spectacularly delicious dinner choices (Mmmm...duck!). The staff and managers mingled through the tables effortlessly, were on point, and very accommodating.
