Diner Reviews
  • "Super romantic but also fun to sit outside where you cab Palm Beach People watch and let me tell you it is a dinner and a show! top notch wait staff, great food but the best of all is the characters you see come out of their dusty closets to have dinner here. Inside is tight and a bit stuffy. The place to be is outside in the courtyard."

  • "Renato's is by far the very best restaurant in Palm Beach!! Very Romantic, outstanding ambiance, outstanding meal."

  • "food is fair,,,quite expensive for quality you get. i had a veal chop was horrible for $48.00. The supermarket has better quality meat than what i had. Setting is stunning."

  • "The menu has a large selection of choices. There are a few items at lower prices, but the good appetizers are $24.00 and entrees $40.00 range. I had two appetizers: zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta (unexceptional) and sea scallops which were superb. The Gavi white wine by the glass was perfect. My friend had grilled prawns and a green pasta entree. He thought the food was very good but not outstanding. We ate outside. The flowers, fountain and lighting are charming. The service was a bit off. One waiter offered us menus after we had ordered and when the food came they switched the plates. At those prices service should be impeccable."

  • "The setting magical. Outdoor dining in a beautiful "via" in Palm Beach. The food is also quite good. The service, unfortunately, is dreadful. Our waiter spoke broken English only. The orders were wrong. One diner did not receive the correct dinner; one received no dinner at all. The waiter never checked back. We finally tracked down the maitre'd who had a non-chalant attitude. He also never returned us to let us know what was happening. 20 minutes later, we tracked him down again. "In a moment..." Another 5 minutes and the two final dinners were served (long after the others had finished). No apologies. No comments. NOTHING! When the bill was presented (this is not an inexpensive diner!), 2 drinks were taken off. Shameful!"

  • "this establishment has been a top preformer for many years and has not lost a step. Food, service, and ambience remain very very good.. only drawback: wine and liquor drinks have gotten overly expensive..."

  • "Fine dining in a fine establishment. The upscale Palm Beach crowd reminds you of A bygone era. Often times people dress down when going out.At Ronatos you don't see that crowd. If you want to enjoy a lovely dinner at a great location this is the place !"

  • "We had a round table on the outside terrace which started off with great ambiance until we were served our meals and the table beside us had two people smoking who disregarded the clearly marked menu that stated no smoking. When we said something to our server, he acknowledged them smoking and said they were allowed because we were outside. I think this is morally wrong to spend so much money on our food at a restaurant of this caliber and not be able to enjoy it because of the guests beside us. I felt that the staff had no concern for my table or my aunt who was celebrating her 60th birthday, who was there first, and our request to have them put out their cigarettes until we left. I was not happy and will tell my friends about this."

  • "I am a very health conscious person and the dining experience was very nice. The food was not as I expected. The salad I had was tiny and the salmon was dry. Nothing was special about my dinner. The desert was very good. I shared an apple tart. I would not run back there for dinner."

  • "Waiter brought appetizer plates that had food on them. When we asked for new plates he brushed the food off and gave them back. We again asked for new plates and he said "it was just cheese." We asked 2 waiters for wine recommendations to go with our food. One waiter new nothing about wine and the other said "get whatever you like - white or red". The bolognese was nothing special and rather bland. The lobster and crab risotto was very average tasting and full of pieces of shell that I had to pick out of my mouth every other bite. We asked our waiter for the check and after waiting for quite some time we had to ask someone else to get it for us. Will NEVER go back. The service is what ruined the evening."

  • "Won't go back. Have enjoyed many dinners and lunches there in the past. This time was very disappointing. Table in a dark corner. People were using phone lights to see menus. Very pushy, impatient waiter. This was a weeknight, and it was not at all crowded, so no need to rush us. Insisted that the best wines were over $100, we wanted one around $60-$70. We arrived at 6.30pm and were out before 8pm. Food was not up to previous standards by any means. Overcooked, dried out fish."

  • "We had the perfect outdoor lunch the artichoke bottoms, mushroom ravioli and sautéed fish were all fabulous and I can't wait to go back! Our server, Little George, made the experience enjoyable and the setting outdoors in the courtyard felt like dining out in Europe.. We will return as soon as we can."

  • "One in our party of three arrived early and selected an inside table. I generally opt for the courtyard at lunch, but inside turned out to be just as lovely, very light, open and oriented to the outside. The service was generally unobtrusive and at a compatible pace for our half business, half social lunch. I love the bolognese and the salade nicoise was nicely done. Renato's offers a pleasant dining experience in a lovely setting. It always proves to be a wonderful venue for visiting friends and family, a great touch of Palm Beach."

  • "We had a wonderful meal including wine and dessert. We had a table in the wine room, which was nice because it is quieter. The service was excellent. Great place for a special dinner."

  • "$48 for two overcooked lamb chops, with a side of sweet potato gratin that was cold and greasy and cold overcooked green beens. Tagliatelle app was tasty. Wine list boring and expensive. The host was not very pleasant"

  • "Our first time for dinner there. Ambiance was nice, especially the open courtyard. But it felt a little stuffy. The waiters (a million of them) are decked out in tuxedos, and it's 'old world' service. Our waiter didn't get our drink order in until he was reminded, and then people scrambled (20 mins after we ordered it). Food was pricey, just okay (had fish, and it was drowned in heavy sauces, while we would have preferred it simply grilled with light olive oil.). We were some of the youngest people there (40s), but I would expect that in Palm Beach. I think Renato's needs a freshening, some sort of 'reboot', but I am probably not their demographic. The older folks in their Palm Beach dinner jacket uniforms, are probably quite happy with it."

  • "Came here with my family and had dinner. Service was great, and so was the ambiance. Food was ok - not bad, but not great by any means. I felt like the description of my plate was not accurate. My food was really under seasoned and bland (and it cost $30). It literally tasted like pasta with some meat and veggies tossed in. I could have made better at home. Out of all of us, one had a really good meal - but frankly, it was just a meat sauce and pasta, nothing complicated. No one had a 'bad meal' per se, but were all underwhelmed. Had a much better meal the night before at La Sirena. Go there instead."

  • "Big expectations, not a perfect place if you were looking for a great quality of meat. Do not order ossobucco , they are not preparing it the right way. Duckling was good thought . Service was kind of slow because thd place was packed. Nothing extraordinaire"

  • "We arrived @ the restaurant promptly. We were offered an inside table (i requested an outside table). When moved outside, we were put at an isolated table next to the alley, even though closer tables were empty. After 15 minutes in siberia, we moved to an acceptable table. The food was good except for my caprese salad was very disappointing."

  • "Went with friends to Renato's - first time for all of us. We were seated when the entire party had arrived. They accommodated our request to sit alfresco and it was beautiful. Then it started to rain and they immediately brought us inside to a beautifully set table in a beautiful room. Our servers were terrific and our food was outstanding. Prices are high, but well worth it for the wonderful evening we had. Will definitely go back again."

  • "The pasta's were quite good the only problem was all of us who ordered ravioli, and different kinds, all came lukewarm at best. The other pasta's were hot though. They must precook the ravioli then rewarm them which isnt particularly good."

  • "We went for Valentine's Day; the garden was filled, but we got a great table inside. The extensive wine list has a number of modestly-priced bottles; when the vintage for the one I picked was out, the sommelier found us an Australian substitute that was such a find we have already found it online for our home house wine. The duck I had was quite simply one of the best I have ever had; my wife's fish was equally well-prepared. No wonder it's such a popular place."

  • "Of all of the higher end restaurants in Palm Beach, I like this one the most. From the casually elegant atmosphere that reminds me of outdoor dining in Capri, to the consistently excellent food, to the carefully chosen and reasonably priced wine list to the attentive wait staff, the restaurant is all around just really well run. I know I can rely on this place."
