Diner Reviews
  • "Ate here several times for breakfast and lunch while staying at the Westin. My husband and I loved the open atmosphere overlooking downtown Seattle. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed my salads, burger, omelettes. We didn't mind paying for convenience, great service, and healthy food. Will definitely be back when in Seattle."

  • "My boyfriend loves burgers so I thought this would be 'the place' to go to celebrate his 20th b-day. However, that was not the case. The restaurant's ambiance was all it really had going for it. I had no idea it was in a hotel so it was a very casual feel. After seeing pictures of the restaurant I thought it would've been a hot spot for locals and foodies. The burgers were fair, I ordered a medium-rare burger and was served an overcooked almost burned burger. As for the name, I would have thought there would have been different types of relish to add to burgers- they had ketchup and mustard, that's all."

  • "Saw write up about this restaurant on Thrillist, but wasn't able to get there in time for the Breakfast Menu. My disappointment lasted only briefly because had I gone with the Bacon and Egg Burger I would've missed out on the Relish Signature. My wife went (Big Blue) and boys (Kids Salmon burgers) were equally as pleased. A bit much for lunch, but hey...we were on vacation!"

  • "Well you look at the menu and the choices and the name and expect wonderful things. Not to be. I ordered my burger medium rare hoping for a medium burger. Came out well done. Two types of relish were set on the table, neither of which stood was special, considering the name. The burgers are tall but the meat was dwarfed by the stuff on top, none of which enhanced the burger. I had the bacon and egg. The fried egg was overcooked along with my patty. The calamari was bland but tender. Sweet potato fries and pinion rings, right out of the freezer bag and into the fryer. My wife did like the brussel sprouts. If you are wanting a good burger experience, this is NOT the place to be. A mom & pop diner will outshine this place on any given day."

  • "not bad, but definitely not the best burger in town. It is about what you would expect to find in a hotel restaurant (a couple bucks more than it should be and nothing special). Great place for a convenient bite if you're staying at the hotel, but not sure why you would go there otherwise. It's just another Seattle burger... the cocktails weren't bad though. So if you're staying at the westin and need a cocktail, it's a good spot for that. "

  • "The sweet relish is to DIE FOR! Ask for it and spoon it on your burger. You won't regret it!"

  • "Located on the ground floor of the Westin Seattle, Relish is an extremely convenient choice for travelers arriving downtown late in the evening. Other nearby restaurants often have long waiting lists, but Relish was very convenient for when we arrived in Seattle on a Friday evening. There is a good selection of local beers. I particularly liked the tater tots with parmesan cheese; and the burgers are high quality."

  • "After reading about Relish we had high expectations. Thinking it was a popular place, we made a reservation. We arrived to a nearly empty restaurant and although the restaurant is huge, they seated us next to a screaming child. We quickly decided to move into the bar, where we were greeted by the most rude bartender ever. The food was not spectacular, but it was good. We liked the happy hour menu. With so many great places to dine at in Seattle, we won't be going back to this one."

  • "Met a friend for lunch at Relish, we both had the black bean veggie burgers (yum), great service, nice atmosphere."

  • "Had the Big boy blue (think that's what is was called!) . It was pretty good, burger was tasty and a good amount of blue cheese. It was a little pricey at $12 not including any fries. I'd probably go back again if I was over that side of town, but it's not my new 'go-to' burger place."

  • "High expectations but unfortunately low results. Recommended burger and tots were OK but with cost roughly $20 for special burger and fries, did not meet expectations for that price point. Two bells still much better for downtown."

  • "The burgers were delicious I recommend trying it if you love hamburgers not like your normal burger"
    Dined on 3/16/2013
  • "The handmade sodas are to die for! Both the rasberry mint and pineapple chipotle sodas are yummy! My favorite sides are the garlic mushroom and spinach and sweet potato fries with garlic aioli. All ingredients are fresh!"

  • "The salads were good but the entrees were all very salty. The wait staff was somewhat loud and clumsy and our waiter hovered around the table too much. I don't think I would recommend this restaurant."

  • "The food at the breakfast bar was warm not hot. Selection on breakfast buffet was very limited, not toast on buffet. Breakfast beverages were very good, hot coffee, cold juice and milk."
    Dined on 12/1/2012
  • "The food was excellent though the menu for lunch is less extensive than it used to be."

  • "We saw that it got 4 out of 5 stars on OpenTable so had high expectations and were very disappointed. Seattle is such a very great city for foodies and Coldwater Bar & Grill just does not meet the bar set by even the most average restaurants downtown. Nothing on the wine list looked inviting to us. My salad had too much tart dressing, hubby's calamari was oily and main courses were similarly unimpressive. The waiter said that most of the patrons were staying at the hotel so I guess they have a captive audience and don't try very hard. I'd like to advise those guests that Dahlia lounge is less then a block away and a little slice of foodie heaven."

  • "The food was outstanding; however, the service was a little off. One of our servers, an older and shorter male, was just strange, and threw our table off a little bit. Other than that, the cioppino is absolutely to die for! Everything I tried from other peoples' plates were great - the scallops, New York steak, ..."

  • "Located in the Seattle Westin hotel, lies a gem of a restaurant. Always a favorite when we travel to Seattle. Coldwater Grill has never disappointed in the several times we've eaten there. An abundance of fresh seafood choices and loads of meat & vegetables."

  • "Alder plank Alaskan salmon was fantastic....great dining experience"

  • "Was there very early, so it was not busy and very quiet. Also the service was thus very prompt and efficient. The hostess was especially friendly. The meal (soup, salad, entrees) was very good. The desserts were so-so. Would not want to give a full thumbs-up without trying it at a busier time."

  • "Service was excellent, food and ambiance fair. As a local, not a restaurant I'd go back to."
    Dined on 4/27/2012
  • "Overall the experience was enjoyable. Without direction, my salmon was cooked perfectly medium well and the scallops were large, fresh and juicy. Unfortunately the restaurant was pretty empty so that did not help the atmosphere... but other than that... no real complaints."

  • "There wasn't anything spectacular about the food here. I had the rib-eye steak and it wasn't very flavorful and not very tender. I've had better steaks from Black Angus. The chopped Chelan salad with mixed greens, bacon, Oregon blue cheese and roasted bosc pear was tasty as well as the rustic brick oven hot bread with roasted vegetables, olive tapenade and cambozola. My wife enjoyed the clam chowder and her New York strip steak. Our waitress, Giulia, was a sweetheart, very friendly, happy and very good service. I would come back because of her, but I won't be back for the food."

  • "My boyfriend and I found this place our first night in Seattle. I had the crab and he had the steak. What a lovely experience. The staff were so kind and hospitable, and the food was amazing. When we couldn't decide what to have for dessert, our hostess was more than happy to bring us samples. Would highly recommend."

  • "Great restaurant. Valentine's Day 2012 was very memorable due to the excellent service and outstanding food. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to all of our friends and come back again and again. Thank you Coldwater Bar & Grill!!!"

  • "The setting was great, very up town. The food was good, we started out with a Ceasar salad which was great. We coupled that with the Oven Brick Hotbread. My wife had the Neah Bay Paella which was stuffed with half a crab, mussels, shrimp and clams. She took some home and thought it was even better the second day. I had the rib eye which was a little on the small side and slightly over done but still very tasty. We shared an order of Lemon Risoto which was very tangy and tasty. The service was first class."

  • "Clam Chowder and entree were wonderful and well done. Dessert (cheesecake) was pre-cut and refridgerated so that it was hard (even the decoration). An acceptable hotel place but not a destination."

  • "Had business dinner meeting, originally planned for 12, we grew to 15, the server and wait staff were very accomodating with our increase and quickly setup place settings. Food was fabulous, all plates were cleaned!!! Definitely will be back again when in Seattle!!! The Salmon and Paella were the meals that folks ordered and raved about later."

  • "I ordered salmon which had apple slaw only. Another side like mash potato or rice would make it a more balanced meal. I enjoyed the salmon though."

  • "We had dinner on Christmas day. The food was very well prepared but the service was poor. Perhaps our waiter did not want to be there on Christmas? I would recommend on the basis of the food but not the service."
    Dined on 12/25/2011
  • "EVERYTHING about this place says comfort and romance. The view of the city and Christmas lights was perfect. The food was the icing on the cake."
    Dined on 12/24/2011
  • "We chose this place due to proximity to our post-dinner event, and the fact we had an Entertainment coupon! We were seated in a fair location, though next to a large table of boisterous guests. We were waited on promptly, though not asked for drink orders just "what may I get you tonight?" My wife ordered mushroom ravioli, the only vegetarian dish on the menu. She said it was quite good. I ordered paella, and it was fair- gummy, overcooked fish & scallops, and a few dodgy tasting mussels. Crab and shrimp were good. Service really slowed down at the end, so we skipped dessert as we were running short of time."
    Dined on 12/17/2011
  • "Very clumsy and unknowledgeable service. Dishes not well timed. Appetizer had no flavor."
    Dined on 12/17/2011
  • "We were seated on time with friendly service, my partner order the salmon and it was cooked to perfection I had the King Crab my only fault with the crab, was they could have opened up the shell a little more to make it easier to get to the crab meat, it was a little work but worth it, the crab was delisious"
    Dined on 12/9/2011
  • "I would recommend it as long as you don't get our crabby waiter."
    Dined on 11/24/2011
  • "We went for our anniversary at the last reservation. The staff was friendly and the food was wonderful. We were the only ones in the restaurant for most of our meal. It was intimate but I didn't have a chance to see it in a active atmosphere. The king crab and the paella were very good."

  • "For a hotel restaurant, it's very good. There are other nearby seafood places that are better, with a very short walk."
