A word from Regional
Regional is an Italian restaurant specializing in THE CUISINE OF THE MANY REGIONS OF Italy. Every single one of the 20 regions that comprise the Italian territory are represented with 1 or more recipes on our menu. We feature a wine list of about 50 all Italian wines(red white sparkling)and a full
bar(seats 16) with a great small tapas menus. Other features are a great weekend brunch(anything from sandwiches to omelettes, burgers to pancakes). Our Chef PierLuigi Sacchetti has cooked in many hot spots in the city.

The food is wonderful and the
service very warm, personal and attentive"

I love this place! They have great
food at reasonable prices. The service is wonderful and the pasta special on Mondays brings us back over and over."
Dined on 2/17/2014
The sausage and egg special and
free refills on the mimosas made for a perfect brunch."

I invited seven friends to join me
for dinner on my birthday, and Regional seemed to please everyone. Pay attention to the daily specials that offer great discounts on various items. Main drawback - most of the non-meat menu options are heavily dependent on dairy. It would be nice to see more vegetables and fish. I haven't found an appetizer yet that this non-meat-eating lactose-intolerant person can enjoy."
Dined on 12/30/2013
The food at Regional was your
typical, brunch food. Nothing to really write home or opentable about. The unlimited mimosas, especially for the price of one mimosa is a total win."
Dined on 12/28/2013
Really good fresh pastas and
salads. Lots to choose from. Very casual, but the food is great and the price is right."
Dined on 12/28/2013
Monday is their cheap pasta night,
so crowds are expected--but the restaurant should get enough staff on hand to handle them. Also, bartenders need to check for dregs when pouring the last of a bottle. My second glass of red had grape pudding in the bottom. A pet peeve, which happens at too many restaurants, is that no one bothers to say, "Thank you," when patrons leave. Otherwise, except for the dismal, factory-cafeteria, décor, well done."
Dined on 12/23/2013
This place is always busy and even
when they aren't at full capacity they still somehow look busy. I think it is the overall vibe as a neighborhood coffee shop and its modern italian atmosphere that give this place something unique and makes me keep coming back often, mostly for brunch (the AYCD Mimosas is the best). The food is always excellent and decent portions too, they will substitute plenty for an additional cost and depending if the chef is in a good mood. As soon as you sit the pastry basket, especially the chocolate muffins, are enough to keep you full while waiting for the main course. Sometimes you do need to ask your server a few times for side items or refills, but I always come and leave happy and full and smiling."

Restaurant is in a good location
and has a nice vibe inside. Food is not awesome but not horrible either. Our selection of wine was pleasant. Service has major challenges. Waiters do not communicate well and the service overall was really slow on a Tuesday night when half of the restaurant was empty. It was my first time there but will be the last time as well."
Dined on 12/17/2013
A wonderful place for a trip
through many regions of Italy. We shared a calamari special appetizer and then had 2 different pastas. Everything was very good and we will go back."
Dined on 12/4/2013
Fantastic place! This is my go to
place when we have people come to our neighborhood for dinner. Excellent Italian food - every single dish is very tasty - lots of vegetarian options and plenty for those who like fish and all sorts of meat. Not a great place for kids."
Dined on 11/6/2013
Good food, nice sized portions.
Enjoyable dining experience"
Dined on 10/18/2013
My guests declared that the food
at Regional was better than the ambiance! And that really sums it up for me. The food is excellent. The service very good. But the restaurant itself is a bit generic. However we overlook that in favor of excellent food and being right down the street from my apartment. So give Regional a try. You will be pleasantly surprised!"
Dined on 10/27/2013
Perfect for pre-theater at
Symphony Space. Italian neighborhood gem for the Upper West Side, and you don't even have to have an entree or a pasta to enjoy a meal. Appetizers and salads make for a perfect lunch, as well as for pre-theater dinner. Negative is the higher than preferable noise level."
Dined on 10/17/2013
We LOVED Regional. We chose to eat
there because it is close to Symphony Space where we had gone. But i would make the trip to eat at Regional even if I weren't in the neighborhood for other reasons. The food is authentic, most Northern, Italian. Simple, well done, great tastes and everything fresh. And the prices were better than in "other'" parts of Manhattan. I had the special-of-the-day paparadelle with short rib ragu. As we used to say when eating in Tuscany: Divina! I also loved the side of swiss chard. I can't wait to go back and try all the other things on the menu. And--leave room for dessert. It's worth it."
Dined on 10/13/2013
Excellent choice from a
price/value standpoint. Pastas are very fresh and well prepared. Service is attentive. Wines are reasonably priced. The décor is a bit sterile, but the glass is definitely more than half full for this restaurant."
Dined on 10/14/2013
There is NO management in this
restaurant and no host. In fact I had to call to get them to click on my Open Table reservation 3 days after I dined there on Saturday eve. The food was tasty but we waited 30 minutes for entrees. While the waitress tried her best, the busboy was chauvinistic and rude. Lack of supervision will be the downfall of this place. Too bad as we really need neighborhood eateries in the area. Won't be going again anytime soon"
Dined on 10/6/2013
Good food moderate prices and nice
spot when in the area again."
Dined on 9/22/2013
The hostess was friendly and
seated us immediately while we waited for the other member of our group. There were three of us and we had 2 salads, a special octopus salad and an excellent arugula, apple and ricotta salad from the menu. We also ordered a fritto misto appetizer and 2 entrees - a sea bass and a pork chop special. Everything was cooked to perfection and flavorful. We will return to try more of the menu options."
Dined on 9/15/2013
This small Upper West Brunch spot
should be avoided. The menu looks good, and they lure you with an unlimited brunch drink special, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. We made a reservation, but were seated after a group the same size walked in without a reservation. We had to ask to get drinks while we waited at the bar, and were constantly being dripped on by the over humid room. Once we were seated, they kept the drinks full, but we had to request our server to order and after all was done, instead of politely telling us that they were closing to change over for dinner, they simply turned the lights out on us. Rude, scattered and unhelpful. The food was good, but not worth it for that terrible service."

We brought two guests for brunch
on Sunday. Three of our meals were perfect and very good...........one had some difficulties. BUT, this is not about the difficulty with the dish, this is about how it was handled. My Salad with Artichokes and cherry tomatoes lacked both artichokes and cherry tomatoes. The waiter apologized and took it back to the kitchen returning it with very few artichokes, the proprietor then came over to check. She went back to the kitchen and returned with both artichokes and cherry tomatoes and a sincere apology. The salad was delightful and very tasty and the experience left us satisfied on every level."
Dined on 8/11/2013
While the food was fine and the
bottomless bloody marys enjoyable, this place is always crowded on Sundays and they always seem surprised and irritated with the crowd- getting surly and having a noise level and chaotic check in process that makes for a less than relaxing brunch."
Dined on 8/4/2013
A very pleasant neighborhood pasta
joint with cheerful if not the most efficient service. Delicous skewered meatballs can start your meal or a tasty caprese salad. Good selection of pastas and meat options and a variety of appetizer dishes can make this a very nice dinner. A good wine selection and a nice bar area add to the attraction. One drawback no gelato or ice cream option for a light dessert."

Regional on the Upper Upper West
Side offers good food and many discounted attractions. It is always very busy... But they haven't quite figured out the customer service angle. The wait staff is very uneven. They tend to be tunnel visioned... And only make an appearance after much arm-waving."
Dined on 7/23/2013
Monday night pasta deal... you get
what you pay for."
Dined on 7/9/2013
This is a great UWS brunch spot.
Plenty of seating, great outdoor seating and bottomless mimosas/bloody mary. Affordable and delicious. The waitstaff and hostess were great as well. I will be back!"
Dined on 6/23/2013
I reserved for 9 and for outside
and stopped by a 3 hours before check this. When we arrived they sat right next to the kitchen even though there was room for nine outside. Bad service Staff rushed us to order and seemed annoyed. When my pasta arrived it took 5 minutes get attention for cheese to top it with; wait staff passed but not give eye contact. One in our parted waited 5 minutes for hers dish to arrive as the others got cold. No one raved and my partner's fish was really bad and he was not happy. Would not go back. The place, even empty, is REALLY LOUD! If we had been a smaller party I would not have stayed when they refused to sit us outside."

Took my sons to Regional after a
friend who lives locally recommended it. What a fabulous meal! Highly recommend the Strozzapreti Al Ragú Di Vitello (Emilia Romagna). So good we ordered an extra entree after we finished ours our meal and shared it between the three of us."
Dined on 6/15/2013
We were 9 people for dinner, sat
at the bar while we waited for our table, good martinis, good shirley temples and a funny friendly bartender. The seated us at the only big table way at the back which was kind of off putting as the restaurant wasn't that crowded but the friendly efficient wait staff and delicious food made us forget our pique. Will definitely return and recommend."
Dined on 5/12/2013
Although the good was very good
the service was terrible. There were several complaints about a specific waiter and the managers response was "If I speak to him the attitude will get worse, but he is a pain in the a..". Really? This is how you solve problems?"
Dined on 6/2/2013
Nice local find with dishes from
various regions of Italy. Wed. night, bottles of house wines are half off--a decent chianti for $15.00! Pastas were good and the beef carpaccio was one of the freshest, best dressed versions I've ever had. Service was "off"--Long wait for waiter to take our dinner order and no offer of cocktails or a glass of wine until we asked for it when he took our dinner order. But all in all, I'll be going back!"
Dined on 5/29/2013
A cut above neighborhood Italian
restaurants. Interesting menu, very good food. Pleasant service."
Dined on 5/25/2013
Bad start: despite confirmed
reservation, hostess had no table and actually moved another diner (who was disgruntled). Room is very noisy. We waited forever for a waiter & he forgot to deliver one of the drinks -- one of our party had to go to the bar to remind the bartender. OK, it's informal, but that was ridiculous. Food was mixed: beet salad featured canned beets (Really?) and limp supermarket mesclun. Linguine alle vongole was too long under the heat lamps. But melanzane alla parmigiana was excellent and the coffee panna cotta was sublime."
Dined on 5/21/2013
We went to Regional on Saturday
evening. In the front there was an exceedingly loud group of people ... screaming, clapping etc. The restaurant has no wall coverings to dampen the sound. The noise was painful, and everyone else in the restaurant was greatly disturbed, yet the staff chose to do nothing about it, despite numerous complaints. So 12 people ruined the experience of everyone else. When we complained, the manager simply grimaced and agreed, but didn't speak to the table. Even rude people can quiet down if asked; Regional chose to give them priority."

This was our third time here and
it was great! Warm , friendly, and the food is GREAT!"
Dined on 4/28/2013
This was our first time at
Regional, and we went there on friend recommendation. The menu is full of great regional Italian pasta dishes that are all reasonably priced. The orecchiette was excellent! The bread is amazing and the service very good. I loved the atmosphere here....very friendly, almost bar-like but much nicer. The food was prepared perfectly, not overcooked or too al dente. I am looking forward to coming back and trying a different dish from another region."
Dined on 4/21/2013
So much fun! Buy one mimosa or
bloody mary and they keep coming to refill them! Food was great, service was great. Will definitely go back!"
Dined on 4/19/2013
A pleasant neighborhood
restaurant. The food is not particularly creative or special, but the tables are not too close together and one is able to converse. The prices are reasonable and they offer great specials early in the week."
Dined on 4/14/2013
For all the negative talk on Yelp,
all of which seems to revolve around how many free Mimosas can be consumed at brunch, we had a very nice dinner here. Every item was good and we were especially impressed with the Caprese Salad and it's excellent Mozzarella. The Fritto Misto was very good as were our pastas. It was almost too much food to eat! And you cannot beat the prices."
Dined on 4/4/2013
We happened to go on a Monday and
discovered that Monday is Pasta Night--all pastas on the menu $9, rather than $14 and up. It was the best inexpensive meal we've had in a long time. The wait staff were very solicitous. We had great time."
