We enjoy this place. They typically run 20-30 min late but it's ok because they have a good bar. The food is good and they start you with cheese pop-overs that are wonderful. Sushi appetizer was good; so was the beet salad. Their cedar plank whitefish does not dissapoint; seafood cobb salad also great. I was less impressed with the service. Seemed like they were pushing us and didn't like it when we told them we needed a few more minutes to decide. Eventually it was difficult to get a refill on our water. Although we took our time, they had lots of trouble figuring out what table had which entree. It was busy and the servers acted as such. It's more expensive than most restaurants so you hope for some more attentiveness.

Disappointing overall experience. Too noisy- too many children at 7 pm, poor service, and my dish was not great, salmon and forced to purchase sides that went uneaten, if the waiter and been better at descbring what the dishes did include, of course we would have questioned sides. My husband's birthday, and he got a cupcake and candle, but really felt all around loss of detail on celebration! The other surrounding resturants were quite busy, the valet was overwhelmed and I wished we had chosen an another choice.

My wife and I were celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary and were joined by a couple that was celebrating their 2nd. The hostess was very friendly and the waiter was fantastic. The drinks were cold, the appetizers delicious and the we got to the main course which was outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family for any occasion and my wife and I definitely intend on dining there again. Thank you for making our anniversary a great night, great experience.

I went to Reel Club on a Saturday night since Wildfire was booked. The calamari appetizer was good - nothing out of the ordinary. The pork belly was fair, but the rice with it was great. I had the Reel Club trio - glazed salmon, horseradish crusted filet, and parmesan-stuffed, bacon-wrapped shrimp. They were all fine, but not amazing. Everyone at the table got a steak of some sort and all were cooked to specifications, which is rare (harhar). I was glad to see it was more than just a seafood place. The service wasn't great. I had to flag down the waiter to take our entree order after appetizers arrived and he wasn't pleased with that. Lucky I did since the food took awhile. Overall, it was a good experience and price is right for the area.

We arrived on time for our reservation, but waited over 30 minutes to be seated. At first, we were disappointed on having to wait so long, the hostess said 15 minutes behind on reservations, but it was really over 30 -- but the quality of food, and our waitress, was very good to excellent. We were not in a hurry, so that was good. I was wondering how long a wait, without a reservation. Not sure on that one.

Took my Mother and Wife out for Sweetest day. 15 minute wait past reservation so not bad. Not much room to wait. Decor is very nice, and service was good. Food was disappointing. Had some parmesan scallops for appetizer, which were smothered in greasy, fried cheese, tasted OK but very greasy. California roll was good, but tasted like made with smoked salmon rather than crab. Entre was grouper for me. Overcooked and not very tasty. My mother had parmesean tilapia which was pretty bad. I'd say OK for a business event if you don't care about food quality too much but the place is very well decorated and nice ambience.

I have been coming to Reel Club for years, because the food is great, and the ambiance is nice. However, the service from the staff is extremely inconsistent. I have had some great waiters, and some absolutely horrible ones. A restaurant of this caliber and in this price range should be consistently good. They also seem to be somewhat short staffed during busy times (like the weekend), which may contribute to the poor service. I brought a guest from out of town here this last time. I had a 7:15pm reservation and wasn't seated untiil 7:45pm (what's the point of a reservation?), and the waiter was so spacey. I saw him only once after the food was served--never asked us refills on drinks or anything. Didn't even offer dessert until we asked.

I had the supper club menu and for 17.95 I thought it was a great deal. I had the filet medallions and the half order of the CA sushi roll and the mini dessert. Service didn't know much about menu items, had to "ask"someone. Rarely visited our table after food delivered. Entree appeared while we were still enjoying appetizers. Food quality is poor. Appetizer of scallops served in cast iron rather than shells - too buttery and hot to enjoy; better fish dishes are served at steak joints than Reel Club.

Two of us went for dinner last Sunday, just 2 entrees and 2 desserts, we were seated (sandwiched) in the "party room" with boisterous guests totaling 18 people at two different tables. The noise level went beyond a jumbo jet, it took about 20 minutes to realize it wasn't going to get any better and we asked for a different table. We were seated in another room, blessedly quiet with the same waitress -- who was a gem -- but 2-1/2 hours dragged by from our arrival to departure. I am not sure what went wrong in the kitchen, as the food was delicious, but 2-1/2 hours for a simple meal is too much time to waste. If you have the time and patience, the food is worth the trip.

Usually great food - that's why we frequent the place. Last Saturday was busy - Chef and the Kitchen did not pay attention to the quality of food - which is why we come to this place - drive 30 miles to get here too!! Service as usual was great - in spite of the big crowd We were given a very small portion for Cedar plank white fish ($2 piece of fish cost us $23) and tilapia was just average. Our favorite bread they serve was old and has been sitting for while - no taste. The desert was supposed to be Chef's special Hazelnut nutella Cake - it was just a dark chocolate cake with no Nutella or hazelnut. A big disappointment overall but we have liked this place as one of the finest before. The real Chef may be on vacation

I have eaten at the Reel Club several times and it is one of my family's favorite restaurants. It is a great place to bring the kids but also nice enough that you can have a "date night" with your partner. I would only change one thing about the menu. I would prefer a normal French fry for the kids instead of the crunchy potatoes they call fries.

Dinner rolls were delicious and a fun treat. Calamari was tender and served on a tomato based sauce that was good. All 3 of us had the Trio. Steak was good, tender and flavorful, shrimp was fantastic and salmon, while tasty was not hot. Coffee came cold. Busboy brought new coffee piping hot. Waiter got the job done but was not terribly engaged. Dessert was a fresh baked brownie with ice cream. Delicious.

Have eaten there several times before. The others in our pary had great food but fish was overcooked and dry. Not good for a seafood restaurant. We felt rushed even though the restaurant was not crowded. We were asked if we wanted dessert but when we said no, the server walked away before we could place an order for coffee. Hence the three stars for food and service.

The reservation was for 1pm. The room was not crowded. Our table was across from the service station. My guest was seated prior to my arrival or I would not have accepted the table. Why would you put a group at a noisy spot when the room had plenty of availability. It should be the last table seated. The hostess should certainly know better.

I come to Reel Club a lot. Brunches, Lunches and dinners. There are a few dishes I get consistently because I love them... Like the Ultimate Seafood Cobb salad at lunch. This time I tried the tapioca crusted whitefish. I had not seen that before on the menu and it did not disappoint. The portions are huge the food is fresh and the service is excellent. What's not to love? And if you are not eating the cheese puffs they bring to you with the meal, then you are missing out on an amazing delicious treat.

Brunch places are a dime a dozen, but if you love seafood, this is the place. Great seafood selection. Not too often you see oysters and crab legs on a brunch buffet. My daughter and her friend raved about the sushi. A good selection of non-seafood items, too. Not surprisingly, it is a bit pricey. ($39.95) But it does come with all you can drink Mimosas! And parking at this Oak Brook location is usually problematical, unless you spring for the valet parking. I'm sure we'll be back.
