Diner Reviews
  • "You get quite a bit of food selections for brunch and even include selections for kids that are just as delicious for adults lol. You won't go wrong with brunch here, which includes custom made desserts as well."

  • "We've been to Reel Club many times. We've always loved the food and had great service. This time the service was lacking, but the food was still great. One example - I asked for a salad substitute for my fries and was charged $2.50 extra and got the fries anyway, which leads me to believe the server never told the kitchen and just charged me extra. Also, the bathroom was gross. The burger I had was great and cooked perfectly and the salmon my husband had was perfect."

  • "Had an early lunch on Sunday. Brunch was happening and looked quite good but we ordered off the menu since we didn't want too much to eat. Thanks for accommodating both menu and brunch! Delicious bacon/cheese mini popovers were provided while we waited for our food. Lobster roll and fish tacos were both quite good. Tacos came with all of the items and you roll your own. Good food, attentive service, nice surroundings. I do want to go back for brunch sometime."

  • "We had an early dinner here on the 4th of July. Their early dining menu has quite a few choices and is a very good value -- $18 for a starter, main course and dessert "bite". The salad and main course are ample sizes and the small dessert is just enough to finish the meal. Two of us had the almond crusted tilapia and it was delicious."

  • "I don't think there was anything special about this restaurant. The food was okay. I had the roasted scallops. There were 6 sea scallops of a decent size--a typical serving. My friends, however, thought their portions of salmon were skimpy. One friend ordered a scallop appetizer and it never arrived. The salads were given to the wrong persons at first--easy enough to rectify but just an indication of the subpar service in general. The ambience is nice. If you want really good seafood, go to Bob Chin's. If you want ambience, adequate food and indifferent service, go to the Reel Club"

  • "Went there for lunch with a group of five friends. The food and service was good and was a little pricey, but well worth it."

  • "We always a have a nice dinner at Reel Club. Sushi is always fresh and well made. The soft shelled crab could use a bit more flavor. Overall a nice value meal."

  • "Our experience was pleasant but not what we expected based on our past visits. When our salads/soup arrived we were short one salad and had to wait quite awhile to receive it. Then when the entree's arrived one was grouper instead of halibut. I was glad it was grouper instead of the halibut because the halibut that my husband had was overcooked to the point of being dry, plus the halibut cost was $10 more than the grouper. The other 4 guests enjoyed their meals. The waitress did not seem to care that our food order was wrong and offered nothing to compensate for the error. We spent a decent amount of money for 6 guests ($500) so you would have thought they would have offered at least an apology."

  • "My wife and I went to the Reel Club for lunch and it was wonderful. Kim was an excellent server and the food was delicious. I had the grilled calamari salad (and the leftovers for dinner) and my wife and I split the beet salad. Her scallops in parmesan cheese was delicious and we will definitely go there again."

  • "Food was fabulous but service was very slow! Took a long time to get our food/appetizers and I kept getting bumped by servers walking by me."

  • "Had Copper River salmon with Scallop risotto, fantastic!! Wait staff very attentive and on top of things. Beautiful decor with reasonable sound level (conversation at table readily audible). Plan on returning soon!! Diverse, reasonably priced wines."

  • "Our food was great, except for our filet/scallop combo. The filet was ordered medium; it came to our table almost well done. We didn't want another steak, but the manager insisted on firing up another filet. 10 minutes after we finished eating, the new filet arrived, so the manager boxed it up for us. When we received the bill, they charged us the $40 for the filet/scallop combo, but comped the 2nd filet that we didn't even want. Pretty disappointing for a Lettuce Entertain You Restaurant. You would think they would have comped the entire entree, not just the additional filet we would have to microwave the next day. After sending the check back to the manager, they finally comped the entire entree."

  • "A decent local casual seafood stop, with a diverse enough menu. The space is stating to show its age, a little, and could use some updates. Service is ok. Love the popovers they bring in the bread basket, they are the best!!"

  • "Reel Club delivered as expected. Like most Lettuce Entertain U Restaurants do: Good service, good food, nice wine list. Lots of seafood options of course. Tuna Tartare appetizer was really good, and Sockeye Salmon was perfect. Gumbo was....just OK, and the Beet Salad was good (would have been great if they weren't so stingy with the Goat Cheese). Also of note, excellent Green Bean side"

  • " The fish (specifically, the Halibut and the Mediterranean Sea Bass) were delicious and the vegetables were very, very good. The service of our wait person, Olga, was very professional and cordial."

  • "We always go to the Reel Club when we are in the Oak Brook area, which is about twice a year - and this was probably our 9th/10th time. The food was very good, the service was excellent, the cheese popovers were tasty...but I began to notice that the restaurant was getting a little worn. Our table, which was a dark-stained wood table, had large chips along the edges. Our table place settings seemed a bit worn too. The ladies' restroom needed to be refreshed a bit. Will we return? Most likely, but this won't be a very special date/dinner place for us anymore, but a reliable standby."

  • "At this return visit, I especially enjoyed the sangria, the limitless flow of mini cheese popovers, and the availability of "bites" of dessert for $2 or $3 (the serving size was as much as I'd want). All four of us enjoyed our meals immensely. My husband loved his Chilean Sea Bass, while my daughter thought the sushi was good."

  • "I had the Seafood Cobb Salad. This was outstanding."

  • "Took my husband and my father-in-law here for the Father's Day Brunch. Outstanding, friendly service and delicious offerings. Although they did not have as big/varied a spread as, say, Ditka's, they had amazing seafood offerings (tilapia, salmon, shrimp, fresh sushi, oysters) and delicious prime rib. They also had a table geared to children (mac-n-cheese, chicken fingers, etc) as well as traditional brunch fare. They offered champagne or mimosas with buffet and for a little more you could get bloody marys. I thought it was a wonderful brunch. Everything tasted delectable and fresh, and the service of the servers was warm, friendly and very responsive."

  • "Standard fare line cook corporate food. Server was friendly but inattentive. Pricey Brazino fish was overcooked, for both of us that ordered it. Carpet was a mess, interior design just thrown together. We had a group of 7 and no one was impressed. I won't be going back."

  • "I requested a window seat for early father's day celebration since my husband is leaving the next day for week ROTC but we were seated in the middle of traffic instead. I do understand that the place is busy but I don't think the hostess even tried to look for or even honor my request. We had the California sushi, clam chowder, bread which were all just fine nothing to rave or speak of. I had the cowboy well done steak which came out charcoal taste steak with garlic mashed potato, My husband had parmesan scallop and crab legs, nothing special. I think a cowboy steak in Wildfire is much better and not charcoal. Our waiter was excellent and very entertaining. I don't see what the puss is all about."

  • "This is our 5th time at Reel Club, and have been impressed each time we dined in the past. We were unimpressed with the service and quality of food this past trip. We had a reservation and were seated in the bar area which was not appealing. The service was extremely slow and not on top of anything. My wife did enjoy her fish, but I was not impressed with my steak."

  • "We dine at Reel Club often. It is our adult children's favorite restaurant. Our last visit was less than stellar due to poor service. Our appetizers were not correct- they mixed items with gluten with gluten free on the same serving plate! The kitchen has never made this mistake- the waiter must not have told them that one of us is gluten free (celiac). After appetizers, we were never offered a second drink, in fact my husband had to get out of his chair to track down the waiter! Entrees were delivered, delicious as usual, thank goodness, as the waiter never returned to the table to see if everything was cooked as ordered. Poor service is never acceptable, but it really stings when the check for 6 people is just under $600.00."

  • "One of the best restaurants we have tried. I love the gluten free rolls they give you upon arriving and everything we have tried has been delicious. I highly recommend the sweet potato and the crab legs."

  • "The cheddar rolls are delicious.....the waitress, Olga, was efficient, courteous, attentive and kind. She was the epitome of what a server should be. We were welcomed to the restaurant and greeted upon leaving also by a Manager. Very good experience."

  • "We asked the server if they had soft shell crab for lunch that day. It wasn't on the lunch menu but they prepared a plate for us that was going to be part of the dinner service. We were very pleased, and it made it a memorable birthday lunch."

  • "This is a great restaurant. Unless you get the waiter with glasses who thinks you want him to hang out with you while you eat. Stop talking to us! We are here to enjoy the food, not you!"

  • "My wife and I dined at the Reel Club for the first time early in the week. We noted in their menu a variety of 3:00 to 5:30 pm specials which included soup or salad, several entree options, a side and a mini dessert. What a fantastic deal and excellent food. We chose fish entrees and both were outstanding. The bartender was a master of the drinks we ordered and the service was efficient and friendly throughout. The room was cozy and comfortable with plenty of booth options. While we were there at 5:15, the bar was beginning to see the after work crowd begin to stream in. The Reel Club was a gem that I cannot wait to visit again."
