  • "Looking for fine white tablecloth seating in an intimate atmosphere, skip this place. Tables are close and the staff, while doing a good job refilling water glasses and the amazing poppers (warm tasty bread nuggets), create a frenetic scene that's just a bit distracting. Our sushi (California) roll was ok as the rice was a but mushy and falling apart. The trio (shrimp, steak, salmon) was grilled perfectly and the fish-n-chips (cod) were also very good. They have a fun menu of cocktails that don't skimp which is appreciated. But staggered plates and sides brought minutes after the meal was served lowered my ratings considerably as the table waiting time, price, service and ambiance just don't measure up to other restaurants."

  • "Celebrating a special event and the experience was poor. Over-crowded, small booth, very noisy, and seated in a congested area. The indoor air temp was too warm and you could smell smoke from outside. The food was great but even the table was crowded and cluttered. The waiter was brisk. What was hoped to be a wonderful experience was nothing but a disappointment because of the setting and staff."

  • "My friends and I met for lunch at the Reel Club and I had ordered the Lobster Roll and my friends ordered salads. I was hesitant with my order because I haven't had a good Lobster Roll in the Chicago area in years. The Reel Club's Lobster Roll is fantastic! Large chunks of fresh lobster on a perfectly toasted lobster bun and served with just the right of amount of light seasoning. If you want more seasoning, they are happy to serve more on the side. I cannot wait to go back."

  • "Seated promptly. Nice booth, flattering lighting. Excellent waitress. Husband's Halibut delicious, salads good, cold, fresh. My twin lobsters were overdone, hard - but for the price I ate them anyway. Chewy! Basmati rice hard and totally lacking in flavor. Anniversary cupcake very good. I love children, but not in a restaurant like this. Families with young "active" children should be separated from adult diners out for a special occasion or romantic dinner. Set aside family friendly area for those with little ones. Background music didn't fit the setting. Have to say this is a really busy place and the staff is really efficient. Noise Level definitely "energetic"."

  • "I love the brunch at the Reel Club; the food selection is unique and very tasty. The champagne is just okay, however, when paired with the great food, it's even okay! Hats off to the ultimate server, a lovely young lady named Kim. I took my girlfriend to brunch for her birthday and Kim was our server; she made the outing a real experience with her expert service. I'll definitely ask to be seated in her section when I go back."

  • "This would have been the perfect brunch had it not been for the couple at the table next to us. We came sans kids so that we could have a nice meal/conversation without interruptions, but it was hard for my husband and I to even carry a conversation because the woman in the booth next to us was talking so loud that I could hear her while I was grabbing food from the buffet across the room. The food was great with the exception of the ice cream, which was melting before I could dig into it, so I would probably come back and request to be seated at a quieter section of the restaurant."

  • "The Champagne Brunch was wonderful! The restaurant staff was very attentive to keeping the mimosas flowing. The smoked fish (Salmon, Trout, Whitefish) was absolutely delicious! The waffles with Bananas Foster topping were very good, and the Hawaiian Bread French Toast – to die for!! Their Ceviche was also amazing, as were the cooked green beans. I will without a doubt, come back for brunch again. Totally worth it!"

  • "My husband & I ate here for our Anniversary & his order was wrong TWICE & had to be sent back. The waitress was very absent a lot of the time. She did bring us an anniversary cupcake, which I requested to take home. She brought a container that obviously would smash the frosting if you closed the lid. I nicely asked for another container & she said, "You can kind of just smash it down anyway!! She said she had no other container. In the end, the manager came over & took my husband's order off the bill. This was so unbelieveable that it was almost comical. The food itself was very good but the service poor."

  • "This is my second dining experience at the Reel Club. Both times did not disappoint. The sushi is amazing. I had the twin lobster tails and my husband had the filet mignon with lobster Mac and cheese crust. Both entrees were a 10 out of 10. The wine list is average. We also ordered the truffle Mac and cheese that was very good. The service was good. Everything was timed out perfectly. I have no negative comments about this restaurant."

  • "Seared tuna salad was tough - could hardly cut the tuna, let alone chew it. And flavorless. No wasabi, or anything? On raw tuna? I was so hungry but couldn't even eat it. The server, who kept calling me "dear" (annoying for some reason) never asked how the food was. Nor did anyone at the front desk as we left. Thankfully the atmosphere was quiet and pleasant, so we had a good meeting anyway. Maybe I should have ordered the multi-course "business lunch" special heavily pitched by the server. Haha, they should just use the old school name "businessMEN's lunch." Can't imagine many women ordering appetizer, steak sandwich, fries and dessert for lunch. Well these two businessWOMEN won't likely be having their next meeting here."

  • "Our family has looked longingly at this restaurant for some time, and after having received a gift card we bolted straight for Reel Club. After making our reservations through Open Table, we were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server, Dan, was friendly and efficient, and the busboys never let us sit with a dirty plate in front of us. Love, love the cheesy popover rolls, and our entrees were spot-on delicious as well. Although we all enjoyed our entree choices, by far the most exceptional was the Whole Roasted Mediterranean Branzino which my son ordered. The menu was extensive and we would have liked to sample a few other items, but we had eaten at a birthday party just hours before. A good reason to go back!"

  • "Tables are too close together. My chair was right up against the chair from another table. The other people at my table were in the same position. We were packed like sardines in a can. As a result, it was so noisy that we had a hard time talking with our friends at our table. I will only go back here on a week day evening at an odd time to avoid the mob scene."

  • "We've been to Reel Club many times. We've always loved the food and had great service. This time the service was lacking, but the food was still great. One example - I asked for a salad substitute for my fries and was charged $2.50 extra and got the fries anyway, which leads me to believe the server never told the kitchen and just charged me extra. Also, the bathroom was gross. The burger I had was great and cooked perfectly and the salmon my husband had was perfect."

  • "Had an early lunch on Sunday. Brunch was happening and looked quite good but we ordered off the menu since we didn't want too much to eat. Thanks for accommodating both menu and brunch! Delicious bacon/cheese mini popovers were provided while we waited for our food. Lobster roll and fish tacos were both quite good. Tacos came with all of the items and you roll your own. Good food, attentive service, nice surroundings. I do want to go back for brunch sometime."

  • "I don't think there was anything special about this restaurant. The food was okay. I had the roasted scallops. There were 6 sea scallops of a decent size--a typical serving. My friends, however, thought their portions of salmon were skimpy. One friend ordered a scallop appetizer and it never arrived. The salads were given to the wrong persons at first--easy enough to rectify but just an indication of the subpar service in general. The ambience is nice. If you want really good seafood, go to Bob Chin's. If you want ambience, adequate food and indifferent service, go to the Reel Club"

  • "We had an early dinner here on the 4th of July. Their early dining menu has quite a few choices and is a very good value -- $18 for a starter, main course and dessert "bite". The salad and main course are ample sizes and the small dessert is just enough to finish the meal. Two of us had the almond crusted tilapia and it was delicious."

  • "Our experience was pleasant but not what we expected based on our past visits. When our salads/soup arrived we were short one salad and had to wait quite awhile to receive it. Then when the entree's arrived one was grouper instead of halibut. I was glad it was grouper instead of the halibut because the halibut that my husband had was overcooked to the point of being dry, plus the halibut cost was $10 more than the grouper. The other 4 guests enjoyed their meals. The waitress did not seem to care that our food order was wrong and offered nothing to compensate for the error. We spent a decent amount of money for 6 guests ($500) so you would have thought they would have offered at least an apology."

  • "My wife and I went to the Reel Club for lunch and it was wonderful. Kim was an excellent server and the food was delicious. I had the grilled calamari salad (and the leftovers for dinner) and my wife and I split the beet salad. Her scallops in parmesan cheese was delicious and we will definitely go there again."

  • "Our food was great, except for our filet/scallop combo. The filet was ordered medium; it came to our table almost well done. We didn't want another steak, but the manager insisted on firing up another filet. 10 minutes after we finished eating, the new filet arrived, so the manager boxed it up for us. When we received the bill, they charged us the $40 for the filet/scallop combo, but comped the 2nd filet that we didn't even want. Pretty disappointing for a Lettuce Entertain You Restaurant. You would think they would have comped the entire entree, not just the additional filet we would have to microwave the next day. After sending the check back to the manager, they finally comped the entire entree."
