ReefReef HoustonReef was great from start to finish. Excellent apps to uniquely delicious seafood entrees ended with phenomenal desserts. I am from Nashville, so a refreshing seafood experience is always welcomed. The beet and watercress ravioli with ricotta was wonderful. And how could I forget the Jalepeno jelly that accompanied the rolls! I had the Redfish on a halfshell which came with fried macaroni and cheese. Every bite was great. The cheesecake with honey gelato was the only way to top off the meal.

Everything was excellent, from the jalapeno jelly to the milkshakes and everything in between. I would say it was the best seafood restaurant we have ever had the pleasure of dining at. And those brussels sprouts! Our waiter was delightful. We are looking forward to our return trip to Houston in August and will certainly dine at Reef again. Next time we will purchase more jalapeno jelly and I will be sure NOT to pack the jars securely in my carry on, a huge oversight on my part! I just wanted to get them home safely and totally disregarded TSA regulations. The wine list absolutely blew us away. Not just the breadth and scope of the wine selections, but by the prices-- where was the markup? Closer examination of the wine list revealed the owners despise the typical restaurant model when it comes to wine and instead want their diners to feel free to drink good wine. We took advantage with a bottle of Nicholas Feuillate Rose Champagne, which routinely retails for over $40.00, and were only charged $57.00. Next was a Cakebread Sauvignon Blanc for $45.00, another bargain.

The tuna sashimi was a light and delicious starter. Though listed as a starter, my wife opted to have the lobster ravioli in a vanilla sauce as her entree and she was very happy. The amberjack with brussels sprouts was perfectly prepared. And their take on a blueberry clafoutis was kicked up a notch with the ginger ice cream pairing. Throw in an excellent and incredibly priced bottle of wine and we had a great evening.
