Redeye GrillBrussels sprouts are divineI have been going to Redeye for years, but not often enough. everytime i go, I am mad at myself, that I do not go enough. The food is always perfectly presented and taste just as wonderful. The brussels sprouts are probaly the best I have tasted. you wanted to lick the bowl.
The blackberry cabarnet Sorbet is exquisite to finish off your meal. And you can never go wrong with the service. Gina was amazing and so accomodating. It was my friends birthday and i said it in passing when we were ordering and automatically put the sparkler candle in the sorbet we split without me requesting.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good brunchBrunch here is generally a good bet. The food is tasty and the menu is large enough so that there is something for everyone. Don't miss dessert, especially the banana cream pie.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good though a bit more flavor? We chose Redeye for its proximity to Carnegie hall and we were not disappointed. The wait staff was great. Throughout our meal we were offered fresh baked items from the kitchen and extremely friendly service. If I could mention one thing it would be that the food, although very good, could have had a bit more flavor. When i go to Carnegie again, I will go there. By the way, Order the "Crunchy Spicy Tuna" sushi roll...4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMRedeye Grill is always a greatRedeye Grill is always a great choice if you are looking for fresh and well made seafood. Decor is new and very attractive, and menu is diverse and appealing. The service was excellent as well. We had had less than stellar experiences at the "old" Redeye Grill, but this new incarnation appears very successful, in this first visit back, in all ways. We will return.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBig windows creating an airyBig windows creating an airy ambiance; appealing American-style menu with an emphasis on sea food; tasty preparations; attentive service. So is something wrong with Redeye Grill? The chief fault: Its prices seem high for what you get. They're not out-of-sight, but they're hard to justify. The food is good but not so special that the high cost seems deserved. Still, the experience is pleasant (until the bill comes).3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMA Fine Dining ExperienceThe service of the professional and courteous staff was beyond measure. Our waiter was extremely helpful and attentive. The meal was absolutely amazing!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMStellar live music. LotsStellar live music. Lots of room between tables. Light and bright, and always fresh seafood.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for pre-carnegie HallPerfect for pre-carnegie Hall dinner, Very efficient service and the food was all very good.
I had grilled arctic char and my wife had grilled trout and both were fresh and well cooked.
A spicy crab roll was deliicoius but the roasted brussel sprouts were too sweet and too oily.
Drinks were pricey, but hey, this is NYC.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe seafood was superb. IThe seafood was superb. I liked the fact that you could have the entrees served several ways. The bar was a great after dinner night cap w/ small goup seting & soft piano music. Great ambience3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMNice open floorplan, comfortableNice open floorplan, comfortable seats, great fresh seafood selections, friendly & efficient service, but bring your bank book.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was never a restaurantThis was never a restaurant you'd visit to eat cheap, and you'd expect to pay a something extra for the live jazz band, but it seems to me prices have gotten a bit out of hand . Simple fish entrees now start in the $32+ range, a lackluster baby lettuce salad with goat cheese, (but only a single, half-dollar-size slice of it), ran in the double-digits. Wine by the glass ran $11 and up. For our main course my date and I ordered plain broiled fish, and that's what we got, smallish and sharing the plate only with a tablespoon or so of garnish. Sides, if we wanted them, were extra. They even charge for bread, which we passed up. With a shared dessert, a glass of wine each and tip, my check for two was over $175. Byebye, Redeye!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful ambience with jazzWonderful ambience with jazz trio providing a wonderful musical accompaniment and giving the Redeye Grill a great vibe. Pleasant and attentive wait staff. Excellent steaks and seafood. Brussell sprouts outstanding. Onion rings were weak - over breaded and a bit flavorless. Steaks were outstanding and prepared as ordered for all diners.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were there for lunch onWe were there for lunch on 3/17. We often dine at the Redeye as we stay at the Manhattan Club when we are in NYC. The service was outstabding as was the food. We were a party of 7 and everything was just perfect.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it for Lunch. WillLoved it for Lunch. Will definitely go back for dinner.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly recommended! With the live music playing and the candles lit, the Redeye Grill was a wonderful night out for my husband and me. We had a reservation for 6pm, when we were promptly seated. Our server was extremely friendly and knowledgable about the menu, and after he took our order, he asked if we had anywhere else to be. We had tickets to a concert at Carnegie Hall, conveniently located across the street, and the restaurant made sure we were at the venue on time. Our food was excellent - I had the clam chowder and braised short ribs (melt-in-your-mouth amazing), and my husband had the oysters and the ribeye which was cooked to perfection. The menu is pricey, but worth it if you're looking for a night out with wonderful music, ambience, and food.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMI was so happy to see thatI was so happy to see that The Redeye Grill had been re-done as I had stopped going because I thought it had lost a lot of it's attractiveness. It was great. The new bar is fantastic; loved the lounge area, too. I will keep it on my list of favorites.3/8/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been to Redeye severalI've been to Redeye several times and every time I go I am delighted!
