  • "When we go to Napa we go to one of two places - Bouchon and Redd Wood. I will admit we are in a bit of a rut but what a rut!! Redd Wood has simply the best Italian/Napoli style pizza we have ever had. Wood-fired, quick cooked, charred perfectly with the most extraordinary ingredients. We highly recommend the Margerita pizza - the sauce is simple but delicious with a fresh, vibrant tomato flavor, the mozzarella is fresh and perfect. We always order the Burrata for an appetizer - comes with a brush of reduced, thick balsamic, olive oil and wood-fired bread/toast - simple but perfect. In fact this place is so good we hope no one else ever goes there - will leave more for us!"

  • "Had dinner at Redd wood over the weekend, it was so good! The roasted brussel sprout and cauliflower appetizer is amazing, nicely caramelized and bursting with flavor. We split a pizza with house made pepperoni and the spaghetti carbonara. The butterscotch pot de creme was amazing as well. So good!!"

  • "We came for lunch last Sunday. The food was sensational as was the service, the decor and ambiance. We had the cheese board and meat selection as well as a pizza. All were beautifully prepared and presented. The food here is really excellent. The staff were all lovely but also very knowledgable. Great wine list too."

  • "The food was slow to come out though they were not overly busy- staff is not the most attentive but the food is really good. If you are a pizza lover, order one...it's worth waiting for. And the broccoli salad is one of the best restaurant salads I have ever eaten. I have ordered at least 6 times and still am not ever sorry. The meatballs are also a huge favorite."

  • "My wife and I started out by sharing the chopped salad. It was very good. We then each had a pizza. Their pizza crust is the most authentic we've had since visiting Italy. One of the pizzas was the mushroom, pancetta. On the recommendation of the waiter, we add some sausage. It was fabulous. Nice ambience. Very good service."

I know it says Pizza on the window but really house made charcuterie is 'not to be missed.' Outstanding wine list, although I'd like to see a few more Napa Neighbors on that heavily Italian line-up. We are in Napa, after all."

  • "Had a lovely Kerner white wine that was an amazing find. Very cleansing. Brittany was our server and she was top notch. She knew the guest I was dining with from previous visits and chatted and was very personable. Service awesome. Food was terrific. Started with the asparagus special topped with egg...so lovely. Beautiful plating too. Next course I had the prosciutto pizza with great citrus notes and salty parmesan. Just the right amount of EVOO. By far the fave and cooked just to crispness in the fire baked oven. Brava... Chin Chin til the next visit. Sip On This Juice."

  • "Our lunch started out on a very wrong foot with a bartender whose attitude was remarkably hostile and condescending. However, the rest of the staff (especially the sommelier) was wonderful and by the time we were done, we all agreed that we had just had a wonderful meal and experience. That's some real service magic. If not for the bartender's demeanor, the overall experience would have rated five stars. Of the appetizers we tried, the brussels sprouts and cauliflower was the surprise hit. Who knew that veggies could be so tasty. Both pizzas were excellent (sausage and mushroom). Our pasta dish was good, but not of the same level of excellence as the other savory items. Stick with the pizzas. Chocolate torte for dessert was wonderful."

  • "Given the excellence of REDD, our expectations were clearly too high. From charred pizza to inedible pasta, this place must rely on the tourists who only eat there one time. Sitting at a table for over 15 minutes before the wait staff decided who was responsible for our table should have told us something. Not saying anything about a large bowl of uneaten pasta was at least consistent."

  • "This was our first time here and we can't wait to go back again. Everything we eat was so good and we really loved the atmosphere. It's a nice change the the "fancier" restaurants in Yountville. We were a group of mid-30's people from SF area and this was just our style. So good! It's definitely on the bit loud side, so if you are looking for something romantic, this may not be your choice for dinner, but they do have outdoor seating, so maybe lunch is a better option for quieter folks."

  • "We've dined at Redds, which is outstanding and were excited to try Redd Wood. Redd Wood is a very pretty & fun restaurant. We got seated right away at a great table. Unfortunately, the restaurant was so dark I had to use my phone flashlight to read the menu. The table next to us said they had to do the same thing. The waitress was very welcoming and offered to suggest some wines for us. Her recommendation turned out to be a $100.00 bottle which she didn't tell us was $100.00. I thought this was ridiculous and sort of terrible thing for her to do. We selected our own wine and while still pricey, it was very good - probably the best thing we had all night. The food was only OK at best. Overall a disappointment and we probably won't go back."

  • "The service was good however, the food was very heavy handed where salt was concerned. I usually like salty. in fact, I like more salt than most, so if I thought it was too salty, I can't imagine what the chef's were tasting. I also read a review on Yelp saying the same dish I had was salty as well. It was the brussel sprouts with cauliflower. When I inquired with the server, she said it's because of the anchovy oil, however there should be then, some adjustments made to compensate for the high salt content. I'm actually baffled how this left the kitchen. I had nice company and wine to focus on so I did not make a big ordeal about it at the time. However It was significant enough for me to take the time for this review."

  • "My husband and I have yet to order something that we wouldn't give 5 stars. The food is amazing and the staff are always friendly and helpful with selecting a dish if needed. We are huge fans of Redd Wood, if you haven't gone it's definitely worth a shot. You must try the meatballs, they are the best we've ever eaten!"

  • "We started at the bar with Dry And Dirty Martinis which were generous and the bartender was very attentive and fun. We also ordered chicken liver toast which was excellent and my husband even liked it, ha. The bartender let them know we arrived 45 min early for our reservation and we were seated promptly when we were ready for our table. I ordered the pasta bolognese and my husband had the sausage pizza and both dishes were excellent. Great place and casual as well!"

  • "I should start with the fact that we went on a Thursday, around 1:00pm. Therefore it was just us and a few other tables. Our server was welcoming, knowledgeable and mostly attentive. Our first course and drinks came out an appropriate amount of time after we ordered them, but our entrees (we order two two split between 4 of us because we ordered heavily on the appetizers) and we waited at least 20 minutes longer than seemed reasonable. However, the end product was some FANTASTIC food. Therefore - go here for a fun, delicious experience (more low-key than Redd's original restaurant) but don't be a hurry :)"

  • "We have eaten here several times before and loved it. Back again on Valentine's Day. Enjoyed the meatball appetizer. Great blend of pork, veal and beef. Very large portion of 4 meatballs. Could easily be an entree for two with some pasta. Also had a pizza and a pasta entree. The spaghetti carbonara was great, but a little salty. Very helpful, friendly and attentive wait staff. Returned the next day for an afternoon pizza snack. This wil be a regulat stop for us in the future."

  • "We had dinner last night and ordered the pasta carbonara and the grilled pork chop. The carbonara was flavorless and the grilled pork entree was ill conceived. There were two thin pork chops that were not trimmed of fat, instead of a nice double cut chop. The chops sat on top of creamy whipped potatoes(good) with a soggy cabbage. All together it was just food, inappropriate in textures and lacking a flavor punch. We have other disappointing dinner entrees at previous visits. However, when we order pizzas and salads we leave happy."

  • "Great place to eat after having two eveings of 'dining.' The pizza was great, the meatballs must be shared or eaten with a salad as a main course and so delicious my husband barely shared! The beet salad was one of the best I have had. Has a somewhat reasonable wine menu - but this is where there is room for improvement. I would love to see a bit more selection for wines by the glass. We ordered a bottle of wine - which we knew we could take with us. We arrived about 15 minutes early and was able to be seated right away, so we did not experience the bar. Looked inviting though."

  • "Had an enjoyable experience at this restaurant. The decor is very cool and the lighting in the bar and dining room worked (another dining area lighting is not so successful). The sophisticated pizza choices were interesting and the one we ordered was the Prosciutto Crudo, Fontina, Arugula, Grana Padano, Black Pepper was awesome. My main course was the Cioppino special - delicious! My husband had pasta which was simple and delicious as well. Our server was outstanding - professional, very nice, knowledgable and just the right amount of friendly to round out our experience."

  • "We had dinner at Redd Wood a year ago on our annual trip to Yountville and really liked the food and ambiance. We made reservations in advance and invited friends from San Francisco to join us. We had a nice table, our waitress was helpful, the wine was good, yet, we were really disappointed in the food. The pasta with mushrooms was super salty and very bland- almost inedible and the pizza was horrible- again very salty and not much flavor- you would be better off going to Punch pizza or ordering from a take out joint. The sausage and marinara dish was like spaetzel and very mushey- too heavy- we eat out 2-4 times a week and travel quite a bit- and we are not terribly picky- yet, unfortunately I would try another restaurant next year."

  • "I only gave four stars for ambiance because I found the decor a bit dark. It has black leather seating and rich woods. I'm sure that would be beautiful at dinner but we were there for lunch. We sat outside which was very nice and had outdoor heaters. We had gnochi, roasted chicken, chocolate tart and cannoli. I won't go in to detail, but everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. The service was excellent but they were not very busy. Lucky us!"
