The good was some of the best I'd ever had. You could really taste the flavor in the tomahawk steak. Mac and cheese was also amazing. Calamari lacked flavor. Dessert was solid! Service wasn't great. Server was very slow, didn't understand what we'd ask/say.

While the quality of the food at Red is exceptional, it will be a long time before I visit the restaurant again. We had a 9:15 p.m. reservation and didn't get seated until 9:50 p.m. They finally sat us at a table near the bar stuck between two large flat screens. I should have just gone to a sports bar.

As a native of south Florida, I can assure you that there are much better fine dining options for you. Everything from the food to the service to the ambiance fell way short of what we had expected. Room: The tables are packed so closely together, your conversation was anything but private. It was comical. Food: The salad was way over-salted. We barely touched it, and we were not offered an apology or replacement when we complained. Our steaks were both cooked at the wrong temperature. The potatoes were mediocre. And the asparagus wasn't fresh. Service: The hostess and waitstaff were rude. They rushed you to make your food selections, and the experience was pitiful; this place is a factory. My advice: choose somewhere else to eat.

I have been dining at Red since it's inception. Looked forward to another season of excellent food and service. Ate there on November 2nd. Clams Casino burnt, NY Strip tasteless ( lower cut of beef ? ) and wine pour smaller. Maybe just an off night ? Tried again on November 16th. Met at the door by a rude, unfriendly, fast talking, non-listening, unaccommodating, hostile hostess. Asked to talk with the Manager; one and the same Allison Glantz. Maybe the reason Red is declining ? Went around the corner to Prime 112 for outstanding meal and service. Before making a reservation probably good idea to see in Allison G still on the premises.

While there are a few hiccups with service (that are quickly remedied just by asking any passing waiter or waitress) the food is simply outstanding. While it may be pricey and the costs pile up if you order multiple extras, the food is worth every penny.

Got there early and was given my choice of seating before dinner service got under full swing. I was assisted by a very attentive bartender and had a wonderful experience. I splurged on the Kobe Filet and it didn't disappoint. Cooked perfectly and without seasoning so as to sample the meat in its natural state (seasonings provided on the side). Had the Mac/Chez which was an incredibly generous portion, can easily feed 5 people, great service, ambiance, food, you can't go wrong.

I was there last Saturday and after 2 years, it has change a lot. To star with I asked for the Miami Spice menu and I think they didn't like that too much. The waitress tried to direct me to the regular menu every time she could. When I asked for the wine list she said she couldn't find it and the specials were in the Miami spice menu (maybe at a higher price). We ordered a couple of FILET MIGNON. One was fine but the other one was well under cook and the meat quality was no really what we were spectating. I asked for a coffee and around 20 min later . I asked for it again, the answer was that they had no clean cups and they were looking for one. I just cancelled it but the just bring it a lot later to me "on the house" at least.

Miami Spice dinner. The salad was nice but the entrees were so so. The Triggerfish was dry and nothing to write home about. The Kobe beef meatball and pasta was a single meatball, about the size of a billiard ball with a nice portion of al dente pasta. This dish was also unmemorable

What a great night! The cheese plate was elaborate and so tasty. The linguine and clams were DELICIOUS! I want more of it :) The NY strip was YUMMY and the green beans were perfect. The red wines were fantastic that went along with dinner and dessert. The finale was the perfect cheesecake with soaked cherries and the molten cake with decadent vanilla bean ice cream. It was enough for four people. Go big, you are at RED!! I cannot wait to return! Thank you!

Friend and I dined here for Miami Spice 2014. The food was very good, but portions (especially the steak) was very small. Quite frankly, I would only recommend this restaurant during Miami Spice. It is overly expensive otherwise even more so than most steakhouses in Miami Beach. Service was great, however.

This is our 4th time dining at Red. Each time we come we try something new. The food is excellent. I especially like the baked clams appetizer. The Kobe steak is something special but be very specific how you like your meat cooked as the tend undertook their meat. Bone in filet is also wonderful as is the lobster. Desert will not disappoint. I like the chocolate bread pudding and the fried donut holes.

This restaurant should not offer Miami Spice. We went with my husband couple nights ago to try their MS menu and what a deception. The waiter explained to us that the meat offered in the MS menu was of not the same quality as their regular menu. He explained the menu in a very condescending way....We ended up have a lot of additions in order to make our dinning experience better. Restaurants that participate in Miami Spice should be committed to do it and provide to their guest a great experience regardless if these guess would spend less than than usual- less don't forget that is an opportunity for many people to experience new restaurants in this time of the year.

BAD SERVICE, EVEN WORSE FOOD. Our waiter, Thomas, made it very clear that the MIAMI SPICE menu did not include any of their prime meat; in addition, both my husband I both ordered the 5 oz filet mignon to be cooked MEDIUM and both came WELL DONE. My wedding soup was cold when it arrived and the green beans we ordered tasted like a salt shaker had accidentally spilled in it. Our friend was literally unable to eat the trigger fish as it was EXTREMELY salty as well. Somehow we tried ordering coffee at the end of this awful meal, and it too came 20 minutes after the dessert and was COLD. How disappointing! Not a good introduction to this restaurant that I would have loved to recommend to my clients that I frequently book in Miami Beach.

The steak is as good as any in Miami, but the rest of the food was average at best. It actually seemed like because I ordered off the Miami Spice menu they didn't care as much about the food they cooked. Bland overcooked pasta with barely any truffle. A giant plate of pasta with 1 meatball in the center; it looked like it was cooked in my college dorm. I've had one great experience and 1 horrific at Red. Not sure I'll be returning any time soon with those prices. Food simply isn't worth it. Can ear at many other comparable restaurants in South Beach with more consistent food.

We had an amazing experience at Red. The service was incredible. My filet ($44) melted in my mouth-- it was the best steak I have ever eaten considering I like it cooked medium well.. Typically it would be dry and tough, but it cut like butter. The lemon garlic shrimp ($19) was delicious and huge. They even brought out a special happy birthday cheesecake for my godchild. Very romantic atmosphere.. Love the glass wine vault. 5 star service, our waitress catered to us! I would love to go back again, it's expensive but worth every penny!
