Red, the Steakhouse - Miami BeachValue for moneyI was excited about the location and the food was alright but I have seen a lot of restaurants in the US and that was definitively the most expensive one, especially the drinks: how can it be that you pay 20 US$ for an ordinary glass of red wine or 39 US$ for a simple cocktail?? That is far beyond the limit of a decent value for money equilibrium. In Europe, you get a gourmet 15-point-Gault Millau 5 course meal for the same price and "Red" is definitively not a gourmet restaurant, but prices are above that!! We try to pick a restaurant that most of the attendees wouldn't normally visit. This year we went to Red, the Steakhouse. None of us had eaten there before. There was a unanimous consensus that, of all the Tax Season Dinner restaurants we visited, Red stands out as #1. The food was outstanding, cooked exactly as ordered by each in our party; service was excellent, attentive, but not pushy. It was a very pleasurable experience on multiple levels. I would highly recommend the resaurant for anyone who knows good food that is well prepared. do not miss the steak, which are as good as some of the very fine NY steak resaurants, and better than most. The filet is everything you would expect from a 5 star restaurant and yet it still surprises you. The sides are oversized and delicious, making tomorrow's lunch a special treat.
