Red Stag SupperclubGreat CafeI really like that the Red Stag takes reservations. We opted to have lunch here during the Stone Arch Bridge Festival rather than Main Street on the river cafes because of that. It was an oasis of sanity instead of the mob scene at Pracna area. One cafe said the wait was 1.5 hrs and there were the only one taking names - the others were grab a table if you can find one. Only complaint was the on-line posted menu is not up-to-date - really wanted that lobster mac & cheese. The egg salad and lobster was good. Also no crab salad as listed on the web site. Please restaurant managers- make sure you are current - just takes someone a few minutes weekly.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, loudTitle says it all. Love the food, everything I've had there is awesome (dined there 10+ times over 2-ish years), but it's really loud. It's basically one be room, lots of hard surfaces for noise to bounce off.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMHipster foodie spotI really like this restaurant despite the ultra hipster vibe (which I am not). The good is great and their appetizers are quirky and very good. The cheese curds are awesome! If you're going with a group, I would highly recommend ordering a cake which are divine. They're better than the desserts off the menu. If only they had parking. Well, the street parking isn't too painful and it's super cheap.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMNoise!!!The Red Stag is great, but the noise level is out of this world. Loud, loud, loud. The rating above says "energetic." That's the best choice. But, it's loud!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOur work team had a greatOur work team had a great experience at the Red Stag. Matt was our server and did a great job explaining all of our options, specials and general questions.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat, inventive food expertlyGreat, inventive food expertly prepared and presented. Atmosphere a bit more like a bar than a diningroom, but still pleasant.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spotHad some visitors in town and wanted to take them to a place with good food. Red Stag delivered. The menu had something that all of us were intrigued by (not an easy task). Service was great, food even better.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. Don't be in a hurry.I took a friend for a birthday dinner. It was at least 40 minutes from the time we ordered until the food arrived. We were starved. But the food was fantastic. It was odd because the restaurant wasn't even that busy.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMRed Stag Saturday eveningVery good food. We had an inexpensive Chardonnay that was excellent. Desserts were very reasonable. This was my 3rd visit, and we plan to have it in our regular rotation.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMYumNoise level was quiet because the place was very open on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. But, i've been in there before when full and it can get a little loud. But otherwise, RD never disappoints!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great time ! The foodHad a great time ! The food is outstanding : ) a little pricey but it's worth it.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing! This restaurant is absolutely fabulous. I would recommend it to anyone!5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely experience. Great food,Lovely experience. Great food, but very expensive. I would go back for special occasions, can't afford it otherwise.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMconsistently good foodI took my sister to the Red Stag for her birthday. She was visiting from out of town and had not been before. She loved the food - she had scallops and a salad.
otherwise, the service was great and the food is very fresh. Noise level can get pretty high when the place is crowded.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMBy a Lake? This place is so cool and the food was great. It looks like it should be at the end of a backwoods Wisconsin road next to a lake, but you are downtown MPLS!.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMgood foodThe food was delicious and our server was very attentive.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of a kindThe Red Stag is a fascinating restaurant situated in a made-over vintage business district in NE Minneapolis. Combining old school dark wood supper club class with industrial style vibe, it offers the cozy friendliness of a neighborhood bar with the imaginative menu of a gourmet chef's club. The wait staff is a varied cast of characters with little in common between them other than attentive and friendly service and enthusiasm for the creative entree offerings they deliver. The restaurant boasts an impressive list of wine choices, and the original entree creations feature organic and locally produced ingredients. The bill is manageable and appropriate for the meals delivered. Enjoy!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunch!Yummy brunch, lovely service and atmosphere. We will be back! Thank you!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat placeService was helpful and offered good suggestions off their menu. Everything sounded amazing and was not disappointed I my selection.
Beer list and wine list were fine, not overwhelming. Cocktails were also very good.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMEasy Sunday BrunchWe took the kids with us to meet an old friend for Sunday brunch. The kids split the French toast and I had the BBQ pork sandwich. The food was tasty, arrived on time, and the server was attentive. We will be back.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMNice Restaraunt with characterExcellent food choices and well prepared. Good recommendations by staff. Great selection of beers on tap. Be very cautious about timing yr ord at peak times. We come often and always enjoy the food and servers, but sometimes at peak, the kitchen can get overwhelmed.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a very positive experience. We had a very positive experience. The food was excellent & staff very friendly & warm.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, friendly staff.Excellent food, friendly staff. The presentation of the food is exceptional making it that much more appetizing. We like to go earlier in the evening as it can get loud in the restaurant as the night goes on.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe halibut special was GREAT.The halibut special was GREAT. So fresh and light, yet it managed to be filling. A side of delicate, fresh vegetables over a pea puree was delicious. Service was good, if a bit slow, especially on ordering and then getting drinks from the bar. The starter salad was tasty and the dessert, key lime brulee, was perfect.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was better than theThe food was better than the last time I was there. In fact, the trout special was exceptional.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMNot the same old stuff! GoodNot the same old stuff! Good food well prepared. Fiendly and attentive staff.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMMy first time. Took my friendMy first time. Took my friend for her birthday. Excellent brunch. I'll bring more friends & family next time.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe halibut special 3 of usThe halibut special 3 of us had was excellent....fish properly cooked, the "smushed" peas were excellent, although the onion mashed potatoes were somewhat overwhelmed by the sauce.
The "2 pork" offering our 4th party had was described as outstanding...he clearly enjoyed it.
The chocolate dessert we had was superb...richly flavored and much enjoyed.
The only real negative we would offer would be the quality of the bread, which, for some of us at least, is always an important part of any meal...it was stale and dry, and way below the standards of the rest of the meal.
Overall, though, a very good meal and we will certainly return.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second visitThis was our second visit to Red Stag, and we were not disappointed ! Loved the Lobster Mac and Cheese, and the flourless chocolate cake was to die for ! Thanks for a stellar dinner !4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI met a friend at Red StagI met a friend at Red Stag for dinner on Saturday night--it's one of my favorites but she had never been there before. I enjoyed everything I had there! This isn't the place to go if you're in a hurry, because the food seemed to take a while, but for a date or catching up with a friend it's great.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great and theThe food was great and the service was fantastic. Good cocktail menu also.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNew Favorite RestaurantAbsolutely LOVED it! The food was fantastic, out of this world, actually...and that is saying a LOT since I consider myself a "snoodie foodie." I only eat organic, local food (ESPECIALLY meat)...so I never get the chance to eat meat at restaurants. I got the chicken breast and my boyfriend got the tenderloin...we were amazed. I wouldn't recommend coming here for dinner if you're in a rush, good food takes time to prepare! Although it was a bit "slow" service, it was perfect for us. We had time to enjoy our drinks, appetizer, great bread, good conversation, and the ambiance the place had to offer. This would be a great place to go for dates, girls nights, family dinners.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous wait staff and greatFabulous wait staff and great food. A little noisy for conversation with a bigger party, but overall great!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI have never had a bad mealI have never had a bad meal at Red Stage. The food is always wonderful. Our server could not have been better. She made sure everything was right.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMSorry, I am not experiencedSorry, I am not experienced enough to write a review. All I can say is that I enjoyed the food. I had halibut and it was what I expected.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is by far my favoriteThis is by far my favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities. Excellent food and service every single time. I bring everyone I know here because it shouldn't be such a well kept secret.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAs a first time patron ofAs a first time patron of the Red Stag, I was thouroughly impressed! The grilled chicken cobb salad was divine...can't wait to enjoy another one! Our server was very friendly but not overly so.
Definitely will retur.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMRed Stag Supperclub has aRed Stag Supperclub has a great atmosphere-- understated, classic, and very cool. Their food was wonderful, and the staff was very attentive and friendly. I loved the complimentary coffee cake on our brunch table! I would recommend this place to everyone, and will certainly make a return trip.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food - service - valueService is always outstanding to go along with great food. Portions just right when its this flavorful. Great value. Lobster egg salad sandwich a staple not to miss.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGo to the Red Stag.I love the Red Stag. They have great beer, super food, and the wait staff is always friendly. I have been there twice now. Once for dinner, and most recently with friends for brunch on my birthday. Everyone loved their meal. I had the eggs Benedict and it was awesome. I wanted to drink the hollandaise sauce. Unfortunately there were no leftovers to take home because I ate the whole thing, which doesn't happen often. For dessert I had the stout ice cream. That was the only thing that was just OK. It just tasted like a really light beer-flavored ice cream. Not bad, though. At night it gets a touch loud, but not ridiculously so. I would highly recommend the Red Stag.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for BrunchMet with friends for a quiet brunch at 10:00am. It was nearly empty and relaxed. I had their house granola with yogurt and fruit. Was delicious! (and huge!) Also had a simple, yet amazing latte.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful lunch -We had a wonderful lunch - food was excellent as always. We'll be back!!!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMYes, we all ,6liked it veryYes, we all ,6liked it very much. The lobster egg salad was wonderful. I will be back.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Best of The BrunchThe Red Stag has a terrific vibe and ambiance that is contemporary, vibrant and modern. I love the old wood loft look and feel of the place and the bar is inviting. The menu is a bit adventurous for my tastes but it's interesting to experience different takes on classic dishes—definitely not what you'd get from the likes of Applebee's or Perkins. Service is usually good, the servers are hip-looking and upbeat. Great for brunch or for a date. Love the abundant parking; it's easy to get in and out.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dinner SpotWe had a great dinner at Red Stag Supper Club. The staff was very friendly and the food was wonderful. We had the Charcuterie plate which was very tasty but could have used more mustard. Then we ordered the Beef Tartar which was served with homemade potato chips which were delicious and a blue cheese spread which we loved. It was my favorite of the night. I finished my meal with the lamb special which was lamb served 2 ways - chops and boneless. The chops were by far the best thing on the plate.
My only grip is that I had indicated when I made reservations that we were celebrating my birthday and they did not follow up with that.
Overall, great experience and I would go back again.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
